You have zero percent candidates scoring meaningless political points against actual candidates. This is how the Repubs got Trump, so the DNC thought it would be a good idea to do the same thing. 13CBS broke its own format when they allowed the six dwarfs to attack Bernie Sanders with impunity, while not giving Bernie a chance to respond. Those people, Major Garrett in particular, are not objective in the least. Their corporate bias comes shining through. Bernie can’t get elected fast enough. Just let the people vote.

15Take the debate control away from news outlets with a bias for setting things up to generate talking points for future use. Put the debate back in control of an organization like the League of Women Voters. Have a mechanism for the public to submit questions about issues in advance and make sure the candidates answer the top three. For example, “What should happen if Donald Trump is defeated and then refuses to leave office?”

‘Audience Full of Rich People’? $1,750+ Ticket Prices for Democratic Debate Spark Disgust

Unusually loud booing and jeering directed disproportionately at Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren during Tuesday night’s Democratic presidential debate—particularly when the senators criticized billionaire businessman Michael Bloomberg—sparked probing questions about the class composition of the audience packed inside the Gaillard Center in Charleston, South Carolina.
Journalists and other observers pointed to local reporting from Feb. 6 on the Charleston County Democratic Party’s offer of a $1,750 to $3,200 sponsorship package that included tickets to the Charleston debate and other events.
“This is something that the average person doesn’t usually get to go to,” Colleen Condon, chair of the Charleston County Democratic Party, told local television news station WCSC-TV.
Citing party officials, the outlet reported that “tickets are handed out to organizers like the Democratic National Committee, CBS, Twitter, and the Black Caucus Institute. Then, they are first given to paid sponsors and handed to campaigns to pass out extras.”
Critics argued that the prohibitively high price of admission may help explain why the crowd appeared more favorable toward Bloomberg—who will not even be on the ballot in South Carolina’s primary Saturday—and loudly antagonistic toward Sanders and Warren, who were both booed and heckled on several occasions.
Sanders was booed for highlighting Bloomberg’s “strong and enthusiastic base of support” among fellow billionaires:

Asked about the crowd’s behavior in an interview following the debate, Sanders said “to get a ticket to the debate, you had to be fairly wealthy.”
“Most working people that I know don’t spend $1,700 to get a ticket to a debate,” Sanders said.
The Bloomberg campaign denied that it stacked the audience with paid supporters amid rampant social media speculation that the billionaire “purchased” a portion of the crowd to create the appearance of a strong performance following his poor showing in Las Vegas last week.
“One might be forgiven for being somewhat skeptical that those attendees hadn’t been paid by the Bloomberg campaign for their presence and energy,” wrote the Washington Post’s Philip Bump. “This is a campaign, after all, that paid Instagram influencers to bolster his candidacy. The campaign paying people to send regular text messages to their friends promoting Bloomberg’s candidacy.

Major Garrett has always been soap, now he looks like soap. Worst moderator evuh; the candidates should have staged a walk out. So we didn’t watch, but half heartedly listened. Took a snack break during the spin room bloviant, then channel surfed to gather exit poll thoughts. Those we enjoy since there’s a little trend detection available.
Bernie and Liz, our two progressives, are experiencing ageism from an ironic source, the aged. Tom Steyer is the candidate voted most likely to drink a beer with likeable, while Biden has fallen to “only if he pays.” In the Republicon-lite lane, Magic Mike is shaking Buttigieg down for pocket change. Or, in delegate parlance, you know what I want, Pete (your delegates). Klobuchar is either running for VP or hopes to be the last woman standing thus the nominee. btw Her hopes are fading.

I’m not a Sanders person, but I think the hubbub about this comment has been over blown.
25I did not watch the debate because I have already voted. I have also decided that I don’t like any of the candidates remaining and I especially don’t like the fact that I have to vote for the one other people pick. Democracy sometimes does that to me.
26Kate Dungan, true. Nevada has the best Cubans, so it may have actually bolstered support for Senator Sanders here. Among the Batista-lites like Rubio in FL who wouldn’t vote D anyway, not a problem. Fact is people want change as highlighted by President Obama being a two term President. Republicons and Donnie* don’t offer that, so the poll numbers on both Senator Sanders and Warren beating the soap out of Donnie* are likely better than shown. A “good” algorithm is only as good as the questions asked.

28Would never pick a fight with J J over a photo but the cynicism of the comments over an advertisement of complacency was too much. I never heard his comments last night but I did read about his plan to defer entering the caucuses for a delegate haul after super tuesday. How that was supposed to work, I wasn’t sure. It was all supposition, until now.
