Nope, As A Matter of Fact, We Do Not Have More Pressing Problems In Texas

Every Lege session the Republicans have to have a “talk-dirty” bill.  You know, a bill where they can say the words “genitals” or “testicles” or “throbbing penis.”

They deeply need to say these words right out in the open with the proper disgust and horror put on the words.  No, I am not kidding about this.  Ask anybody who  has spent time around the Lege and they will tell you that everybody holds their breath until the Republicans get a talk dirty bill.

Bingo!

Susie Castillo, Miss USA never had a bikini wax

FORT WORTH, Texas — A former Miss USA’s tearful claim that she was groped during a pat-down at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport could be a criminal matter under a bill gaining momentum in the Texas Legislature.

The proposed Texas law, aimed at people conducting security checkpoints at airports and public buildings, would make it a felony to intentionally touch someone’s private areas — even on top of clothing — unless the officer or agent has probable cause to believe the person is carrying something illegal.

Get ready, here comes the money shot —

Last fall the Transportation Security Administration implemented a new pat-down procedure that includes a security worker running a hand up the inside of passengers’ legs and along the cheek of the buttocks, as well as making direct contact with the groin area.

Okay, so it’s not as good as the sexually oriented business bill, but times are tough all over. Butt checks will have to do this session.

Thanks to David for the heads up!

Okay, This is Just Creepy

The Sugar Land ( home to Tom DeLay, McMansions, and other visual atrocities) has a Tea Party organization.  They are holding a debate among candidates for the city council and school board.

Except, we have no idea who “they” are.

It’s damn creepy.

Here’s their website.  Go anywhere on it, including the ABOUT US tab and you will find no names.  No names whatsodamnever. Anywhere.  Even the CONTACT US tab doesn’t say who “us” is.

I’m tempted to show up on Monday night to see if they wear white hoods over their heads.

I’m Sorry, Momma

As most of you know by now, my Momma doesn’t take to cussin’.  She just flat doesn’t allow it.  And since she comes to my website every single day, we have a rule around here that you cannot cuss.

I’m breakin’ that rule.  I know I will suffer the consequences.  Momma is 85 years old but she remains the most determined woman on the planet to clean this place up.

I hate to add to the mess, but Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott is a sumbitch.

There is just no other word to describe him.

There is a man named Anthony Graves, who spent 18 years behind bars, 12 of them on death row, for a crime that prosecutors now say he didn’t do.

After he was freed in October, the Texas comptroller’s office refused the compensation provided by law for those who are unjustly convicted.

Then the Texas Attorney General’s Office began garnisheeing his wages for child support that a judge decided Graves owed even though he was on death row at the time. But when they blocked payment of the $250 fee he earned for a presentation to students at Prairie View A&M University, it was too much.

“If you feel I owe some compensation, fine, I’m not crying about that, but don’t go after everything I make,” said Graves, 45. “I’m tired of the state kicking me.”

The Attorney General’s Office is garnisheeing $175 of the $3,000 monthly salary he earns as an investigator for Texas Defenders Service, an organization that represents death penalty defendants.

Jeff Blackburn, a lawyer for Graves, said that the Texas Comptroller refused to pay Graves $80,000 as provided by law for each year he was unjustly in person.  Graves appealed the comptroller decision and Attorney General Greg Abbott is peeved about that.

So, he’s taking it out on Graves by being a sumbitch, something he’s very good at.

Anthony Graves will beat the rap, but he won’t beat the ride, all because Greg Abbott is a sumbitch.

Thanks Sam for the heads up.

It’s Yachtville, Texas.  I have no idea how the people in Lubbock or Amarillo are going to recover from tough times.

House Committee Approves Tax Break for Yachts

Villarreal Criticizes Move as Legislature Cuts Education and Nursing Homes

Austin – Today Rep. Mike Villarreal (D-San Antonio) strongly criticized the House Ways and Means Committee for approving a tax break for yachts at the same time that the Legislature is proposing drastic cuts to education, nursing homes, and other basic services. Yesterday the Committee, of which Rep. Villarreal is a member, approved HB 2187 by Rep. John Davis (R-Houston).

“With all due respect, sometimes I’m not sure what planet my Republican colleagues live on,” said the flabbergasted Representative. “How can they say tax breaks for yachts are a higher priority than supporting our children’s classrooms or keeping nursing homes open?”

And no damn whining from you people on the coast.  I went to Galveston at Easter and dropped a hunk o’ money at Gaidos and on The Strand.  Besides, Tilman Fertitta is spending the same amount of  money in Kemeh and Galveston that it would cost to wallpaper Italy.

Big Buddy’s Cut-rate Yacht Warehouse in Odessa is doing just as good this year as he did last year.  But, West Texas is burnt crispy.  I ain’t concerned about people with too much water on the Texas coast right now.  Don’t irritate me.
