Duck!

Okay, the Koch brothers, who have enough money to air condition hell but that don’t make them pretty, have made a pledge to personally donate to a Super Pac more money than John McCain spent on his entire campaign.

Republican super PACs and other outside groups shaped by a loose network of prominent conservatives – including Karl Rove, the Koch brothers and Tom Donohue of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce – plan to spend roughly $1 billion on November’s elections for the White House and control of Congress, according to officials familiar with the groups’ internal operations.

That total includes previously undisclosed plans for newly aggressive spending by the Koch brothers, who are steering funding to build sophisticated, county-by-county operations in key states. POLITICO has learned that Koch-related organizations plan to spend about $400 million ahead of the 2012 elections – twice what they had been expected to commit.

Nobody gives that kind of money expecting good government in return.

So, those friendly folks who gave you George W Bush are now trying to sell you Mitt Romney, a man who might be smarter than Bush but in a bad way.

It’s gonna get nasty.  Karl Rove and his buddies can’t tell you what they really want to do with America because you’d run down the street screaming holy hell on a nickel cigar, so expect a campaign spent entirely on bashing President Barack Obama.  They will invent four new boogie men, convince the entire trailer park that there’s monsters under their beds, and Photoshop pictures of Hitler and Stalin having gay hoochy koochy in the Lincoln bedroom.

Karl Rove and Grover Norquist are wicked.  They once tried to sell some ideas to the nightmare machine, but got rejected for being too damn scary.

Thanks to David for the heads up.

Screwy Louie Unplugged

Y’all, you know how some people think that Barack Obama’s parents had his birth announcement placed in the Hawaiian newspaper because they knew for a dead solid certain fact that although he was born in Kenya he was going to be President one day so they started the conspiracy to claim he’s an American citizen the day after he’s born?

And, bless your heart, you thought that was crazy.

You ain’t met Louie Gohmert, East Texas’ gift to Ouija boards.

Voodoo Lookout

Louie thinks Elena Kagan knew years and years ago that John Robert was going to side with the liberal on the Affordable Heath Care Act. Seriously.

“Could [Kagan] have foreseen that perhaps a weakness of the brilliant [Chief Justice] John Roberts could be if you call something a penalty in a bill and then later call it a tax after it’s passed, then maybe the Supreme Court should buy it?” Gohmert asked Friday on the House floor.

Apparently, no one was there with a straight jacket and a butterfly net.

Gohmert went on to explain his belief that Kagan has powers beyond the normal human.

Kagan the “worst solicitor general in history” if she had not advised President Barack Obama on the inevitable legal challenges to the Affordable Care Act.

Well, duh, Louie.  Maybe her crystal ball was in for an oil change that day.

Of course she knew it was going to have legal challenges.   Everybody knew that because Louie held press conferences  every day, pretending to be a lawyer.

Thanks to the Louie Gohmert watch-out team for the heads-up.

Let This Be a Lesson

Do you know what happens when you have so much money that you don’t even know where it all is?  Bad things.  Bad things happen.

Romney Invested in Medical-Waste Firm That Disposed of Aborted Fetuses, Government Documents Show

Come to find out, contrary to claims made by Mitt Romney himself, Romney hadn’t left Bain when it invested in Stericycle, a company with “a troubling safety record.”

Another SEC document filed November 30, 1999, by Stericycle also names Romney as an individual who holds “voting and dispositive power” with respect to the stock owned by Bain. If Romney had fully retired from the private equity firm he founded, why would he be the only Bain executive named as the person in control of this large amount of Stericycle stock?

Bain made $50 million off the investment.  Romney did not invest in Stericycle to create jobs or grow the company.  He invested in Stericycle to make more money. There’s nothing wrong with making money, but don’t say you’re creating jobs when you’re sucking profit.

Okay, here’s my question:  where the hell is Joe Wilson to holler “You Lie!” when we really need him?

Thanks to Brian for the heads up.

Rupert Murdoch, a man on top of the news, has weighed in on the most important event of the week:

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch weighed in on the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes divorce story Sunday, saying he thinks Scientologists are “creepy” and possibly even evil.

“Watch Katie Holmes and Scientology story develop. Something creepy, maybe even evil, about these people,” Murdoch said on his Twitter account, @rupertmurdoch.

Oh Dude, Rupert Murdoch knows creepy and evil like the back of his hand.  In fact, it is the back of his hand.

Thanks to Brian for the heads-up.

Thank You Anderson Cooper

A good man, a smart man, and a class act.

I’ve begun to consider whether the unintended outcomes of maintaining my privacy outweigh personal and professional principle. It’s become clear to me that by remaining silent on certain aspects of my personal life for so long, I have given some the mistaken impression that I am trying to hide something – something that makes me uncomfortable, ashamed or even afraid. This is distressing because it is simply not true.

I’ve also been reminded recently that while as a society we are moving toward greater inclusion and equality for all people, the tide of history only advances when people make themselves fully visible. There continue to be far too many incidences of bullying of young people, as well as discrimination and violence against people of all ages, based on their sexual orientation, and I believe there is value in making clear where I stand.

The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud.

I can’t think of a danged word to add to that, except that I am proud for him, too.

Oh Y’all, Paul Ryan is Running for Veep

July 02, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

We know that Paul Ryan is running for Veep because he’s talking to God.  However, I am still questioning if the vice versa is true.

Talking about the Affordable Care Act (aka Obama Cares), Ryan went all, “Take off those glasses, brother, because if God wanted you to see, he wouldn’t have given you an astigmatism, which, of course, you got from listening in sex education classes and eating Michelle food like fruits and vegetables.

“I think this at the end of the day is a big philosophy difference,” Ryan told ABC’s “This Week.” “We disagree with the notion that our rights come from government, that the government can now grant us and define our rights. Those are ours, they come from nature and God, according to the Declaration of Independence – a huge difference in philosophy.”

No, no, Paul Honey, under the Republican plan, the right to get health care doesn’t come from God, it comes from insurance companies, which, conveniently, truly are the Republican God.  The difference being that God doesn’t have as big a profit motive on whether you live or die as insurance companies do.
