Oh The Sweet Joyful Sounds of Bush Remembrances

November 10, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

The Bush Dynasty continues in Texas.

George P. Bush, a nephew of former President George W. Bush and son of one-time Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, has made a campaign filing in Texas that is required of candidates planning to run for state office, an official said Thursday night.

The younger Bush, a Fort Worth resident, filed a campaign treasurer appointment Wednesday, a requirement for someone to become a candidate under campaign finance law, Tim Sorrells, general counsel for the Texas Ethics Commission, told The Associated Press.

He refuses to discuss what statewide office he’s seeking, but I have serious doubts that Karl Rove will continue to be the official Bush campaign manager, you know, what with his mental health issues and all.

George Pee is a real estate developer – so it will be fun to see how many government handouts, tax abatements,  and TIRZs he leeched.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

Here’s the Truth

This morning I got an email from someone who wanted to know if I’m gonna keep the Beauty Salon open now that the election is over.  Having been on the internet machine since 1997, you don’t have to check with Nate Silver to know odds are pretty good that I’m gonna hang around.

Besides, the Texas Lege starts meeting this January, and, Honey, that’s when the real fun starts.

In fact, it almost already has.

Meet Peter Morrison, a Texas GOP official, and the Loon du Jour.

Peter Morrison, Notoriously White

Mr. Morrison is all in a tither that Vermont has the same government that we do in Texas and there’s something just not right about that.  He’s not real sure what that “not right” is, but he’s almost positive it has something to do with Barack Obama and the “maggots” who backed Obama.

No, seriously, he said maggots.

And he’s also disgusted with “non-whites” (who appear to be Asians and Hispanics in his mind), whom he accused of voting for the president on an “ethnic basis.”  Not that Mr. Morrison did not vote for Obama on an ethnic basis, you know.

So, all this boils down to Peter Morrison wanting Texas to secede.

Let me stop here and tell you something semi-important.  Mr. Morrison was selected by the State Board of Education to screen textbooks in Texas.

I know you remember the judge in Lubbock who predicted that there would be a civil war if Obama won.   So it appears that there’s some infighting over who gets to be Robert E Lee.

The train to Crazy Land is at the station loading up.  The Beauty Salon will remain open until it pulls out of the station.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

After waiting a respectful 24 hours after Mitt Romney suffered a large electoral embarrassment, Rick Perry flirted – as only Rick Perry can do – with the idea of running for President again.

ohmygodyes.

“2016 is multiple lifetimes away,” said Perry, who has a lot of experience with coyly denying that he will seek higher office.

While Perry famously soared and then crashed in the 2012 presidential primary, he has said the experience was humbling yet instructional. On Thursday, Perry reiterated that he would leave the door open for another try.

Yes, the guy who is so dumb and goofy that he had to constantly deny he was on drugs is going to run for President again.

And I have a front row seat.

Ohmygodyes.

Because Mitt Romney Needs the Money, Honey

While it could not possibly happen to a more deserving group of people, here’s a glimpse into the mindset of Mitt Romney’s vision for America if he had won.

NBC News reports that very soon after Mitt Romney’s loss on Election Night, the campaign’s “massive infrastructure” began to come down:

“Aides taking cabs home late that night got rude awakenings when they found the credit cards linked to the campaign no longer worked.

‘Fiscally conservative,’ sighed one aide the next day.”

Mitt couldn’t even spring for the cab ride home.  I guess a billion dollars doesn’t go as far as it used to.

Return on Political Investment:  Democrats.

Using Follow the Unlimited Money, Sunlight calculated returns on investment for the outside groups that gave the most during this year’s general election campaign. This includes super PACs, non-profit organizations and political party committees.

The percentage under each group’s name represents their fall batting average: It reflects how much of their money went to support candidates who won and to oppose candidates who lost in the general election campaign.

More gloating here.   Check out the NRA versus the SEIU.

Hallucination Desperation

Poor Ole Karl Rove.

Poor little varmint laying all squashed in the middle of the road to paradise.

It took him 36 hours, but he finally came up with an explanation of why he lost this election.

Barack Obama was trying to suppress the vote.  Oh yeah, that’s the ticket.

GOP strategist Karl Rove went on Fox News today to argue that President Barack Obama “succeeded by suppressing the vote” — an argument that directly contradicts the conventional wisdom that Romney failed to appeal to non-white and female voters.

Oh yeah, Democrats were the ones fighting for voter ID and shortened early voting periods.  Wait.  That’s not right, right?

Okay.  Let’s try another Rovian approach.  Rove also said ….

Obama “suppressed the vote” by demonizing former Gov. Mitt Romney and encouraging people not to vote.

Demonizing?  Did that little turd blossom say demonizing?  Okay, I understand that reality is only a collective hunch, but did somebody have a chainsaw at the back of his head to make him say something that completely out of touch with reality?

In any other universe, the man who invented demonizing and voter suppression and then went on teevee and said something that totally insane would be dropped buck nakkid into an NRA convention with “Gun Control Now!” tattooed on his large butt in capital letters.
