Remember the cop who purposefully walked down the line of protesting kids and sprayed them all with pepper spray?

Well, come to find out, he was not crazy when he did it, but that all those hurt kids made him crazy afterwards.

The former police lieutenant who became the target of worldwide ire after dousing Occupy UC Davis protesters with pepper spray, John Pike, is appealing for worker’s compensation, claiming psychiatric injury caused by the Nov. 18, 2011, incident.

Dude.  Really?  Crazy didn’t make you do this?  All those internet memes hurt you and made you crazy?

Pike, whose annual salary was $121,680, remained on paid leave for eight months while the pepper-spraying was investigated.

Eight months?

So you could practice this?

Well, it seems that Cumulus Radio is dropping both Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity like spit off a tall building.

The right is spinning it as contract negotiation problems and not that Rush and Sean are getting on everybody’s nerves.  That’s kinda true, but the contract negotiations include the fact that Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey reported “a $2.4 million first-quarter decline in revenue related to talk programming, which he attributed, indirectly, to Limbaugh’s remarks about [Sandra] Fluke.”

Here’s the deal.  When you lean on advertisers and they feel the pinch and withdraw their advertising, that means Cumulus loses money with advertisers withdrawing.  They try to find out what’s causing them to lose money and they hack it off.  In this case, it was Rush Limbaugh.

So the sweet irony of it all is that Rush Limbaugh got killed by free enterprise.

That is very cool.

One of the great things about having Republicans run Texas is that there has been a great relaxing of sewage containment – you can pretty much crap anywhere as long as you ain’t one of them terrorists.  Especially if you’re a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

Texas’ response to the explosion of a fertilizer plant in West has been far different. More than three months after that disaster, the state health department has yet to start collecting details on deaths or injuries.

Dr. David Lakey, State Health Services commissioner, ain’t talking to the media.  He is indicating that there’s no rush.  There’s an unofficial count of 300 injured but that’s just a guess.

A survey of injuries could highlight the potential danger faced by 20,000 Texans who live close to the state’s 73 other facilities that store large amounts of ammonium nitrate, the chemical that exploded in West.

It even got down to  Sherry Williams, the director of the county health department, saying that she was concerned about who got to see the results of this study, adding, “I want to make sure this is not a hunting/blaming expedition.”

Well, hell no – let’s not waste time finding out who did this and how to keep it from happening again.  Obviously a war isn’t necessary so why the tarnation would we want to know?

This is bidness, folks.  And sacrificing a few hundred people on the alter of unregulated bidness is a small price to pay for Rick Perry’s business ads in other states.  Hell, we didn’t even demand that all the sacrificials be virgins.

Bidness in Texas – where guesstimates will do unless it’s a CEO salary.

Anthony Weiner’s campaign manager for his New York City mayoral bid resigned over the weekend, a spokeswoman confirmed Sunday, according to Reuters.

News of Danny Kedem’s departure comes as the scandal embroiled candidate’s polling numbers plummeted in recent days after new revelations of his sexually explicit Internet exchanges with women emerged.

Kedem joined Weiner’s campaign in early spring, and no reason was provided for his sudden departure.

Because a full explanation was needed?

Oh, I dunno, wanted to spend more time with his family?

It is not true that all Texas Republicans are terrible racists and homophobes – some of them are pretty good at it.

Louie says that the Voter’s Rights Act is punishment against states that didn’t vote for President Obama.

Louie says that Texas “has cleaned up its act” and there is no more racial discrimination in Texas.  No sireee, not Texas.  All the racial discrimination is in Massachusetts.

Then just for fun he starts talking about Benghazi and claiming that there needs to be more investigation because of rumors.   Well, Honey, if we’re going to play that game, there’s a few Louie Gohmert rumors going around and I’ll be glad to tell them all.

I swear this man gets up every morning and swigs a big cup of goofy.

I’ll post pictures of the roast later, but I just wanted to thank you guys for the most successful Democratic fundraiser in Fort Bend County history.  We sold out of tickets and there was Standing Room Only by the time the night was over.  There is no video because some of the roasters said things they’d like to be able to deny at a later date.  Me, too.
