We all have the memory of the SCOTUS actually backing Abbott and Patrick’s vigilante law last year that allows any idiot to sue anyone they decide helped any woman in Texas obtain what was then a legal medical procedure, an abortion after 6 weeks of pregnancy.  Up until the court, packed with radicals, took away the constitutional right for a women to have autonomy over their own bodies this law was in effect.  These two rulings go against everything the Constitution stands for, and now endangers other rights enjoyed by Americans for decades.  The gateway to this decision was the Texas Vigilante Law, but now it’s time for payback, and California governor Gavin Newsom has served up the first serving of Whup Ass.

This week, Newsom signed into law the Firearm Industry Responsibility Act, which, adopting the same tactic used by Abbott and Patrick, allows anyone to sue any person or company that sells or manufactures dangerous weapons that violate California state law.  He also signed laws that banned ghost guns as well as other safety measures that citizens can now cite in their lawsuits against gun traffickers.  By putting enforcement of these laws into the hands of individual citizens, he puts the SCOTUS on the hot seat, daring them to overturn the same tactic that they just supported.  The move is brilliant, and stands to save lives by going after those profiting off the selling death by gun.

At the same time, Newsom is trolling Abbott by taking out full page ads yesterday in the Austin American Statesmen, Houston Chronicle and El Paso Times turning his own words around on him saying, “California’s answer to Texas’ perverse bill.”  It continues, “If Texas can ban abortion and endanger lives, California can ban deadly weapons of war and save lives. If Governor Abbott truly wants to protect the right to life, we urge him to follow California’s lead.”  Here it is, click the little on to get the big one.

I’m getting to like Newsom’s style, especially as he’s encouraging Dems to get off their ass and start kicking ass.  I’m personally sick of the party, especially in Texas, just rolling over year after year and taking the relentless bludgeoning by radical social conservatives who have actually moved from conservatism to fascism.

Enough is enough, and the time is now.

Guys, I’m crushed today with helping with trial prep but I’m keeping one eye on the Steve Bannon jury.  Maybe you are, too.

One of the things I’ve noticed on social media lately are the cries from conservatives that liberals were apparently rooting for Donald Trump to die when he had COVID. Yet, they are all adults and none of them have wished death on Joe Biden. See, they are the adults and those that believe in civility unlike all of these nasty liberals. Of course, they forget that we have receipts.

I know many of you do not follow Twitter, so I need to add to this little gem. Steinberg later went on a private twitter video off air where she gleefully asked her followers if Joe Biden would die. Naturally, I first saw this in one of my social media echo chambers and the comments got pretty sarcastic when it came to her fashion and beauty choices. I’m just a simple guy, so I won’t get into any of that.

I only have two points when it comes to all of this. First of all, my memory may be a bit fuzzy, but I don’t remember anyone on MSNBC, The Young Turks, or any prominent member of the progressive media wishing death on Donald Trump. Of course, I don’t spend all my waking hours watching those channels or networks. Hell, I don’t watch a whole lot of television to begin with. So, maybe someone could help me out there. If I’ve missed a major progressive politician or news anchor wishing death on Donald Trump please provide the receipts.

We had an election where over 150 million people voted. More than 80 million voted for Joe Biden and against the former guy. There is absolutely a non-zero chance that a few of those 80 million people might have uttered those sentiments out loud. There’s a decent chance it was more than a few. I’m not answering for them. I refuse to. What I will do is apply pressure on any elected official or prominent talking head to clean up their act. However, I tend to doubt that I will have to do that.

Furthermore, this ignores the irony that the former guy gaslit the nation about the dangers of the virus and then ended up getting it. He spread it to others and allegedly attempted to spread it to more (including Joe Biden) knowingly and on purpose. More than a million people are dead and the vast majority probably didn’t need to die. I certainly don’t condone wishing death on anyone, but many of those people probably lost family members to the virus and maybe some close friends. Maybe those family members and close friends neglected to wear masks or vaccinate because their commander in chief said that was okay. I can’t condone anything, but under those conditions I certainly understand it.

Okay, so it’s 101 degrees today, it’s been over 100 for two weeks now, the humidity is awful, and now Covid is rampant.  They’ve run out of Topo Chico and everybody is on edge about the grid going down.

Grab a pencil and write down Garrett’s name somewhere so you won’t forget and mistakenly hire him to weed your garden one day.  It is horrible what the J6 committee did to him – they made him unemployable for at least two decades.
