The US Women’s Soccer team took the world cup today for a fourth time in Lyon, France.  They dominated the entire game and won 2-0 against the Netherlands.  Co-captain, Megan Rapinoe scored a penalty kick followed by Rose Lavelle with a goal.  Rapinoe won distinction last week earning a personal Twitter insult from Trump for daring to say she wouldn’t visit the White House if the team won the championship.  Actually she said, “There’s no fucking way we’ll be invited to the White House,” citing other circumstances where sports teams turned him down for a visit, Rapinoe said that he would just claim he hadn’t invited them in the first place.  Trump attacked her, even attempting to scold her for “disrespecting our country, the White House, or our flag…” completely missing the point that she’s not doing that, but defending those things by refusing to participate in the Trumpland Carnival complete with disgusting cold fast food.  Good for her.

The war of words spread, and burst onto national television today on none other than Fox Noise when one of their reporters attempted to interview US fans in a sports bar in Lyon.  They drowned him out with chants of “Fuck Trump! Fuck Trump!”  It’s actually pretty hilarious.  The video is embedded in a DeadSpin story right here:

During Trump’s 45 minute teleprompter drone this afternoon in front of the rain soaked Lincoln Memorial, he clearly stumbled while reading the narration of the Revolutionary War.  Quote:

“In June of 1775 the Continental Congress created a unified Army out of the Revolutionary Forces encamped around Boston and New York, and named after the great George Washington, commander-in-chief. The Continental Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware and seized victory from Cornwallis of Yorktown.”

Then Trump had a brain fart:

“Our Army manned the air, it rammed (?) the ramparts, it took over airports, it did everything it had to do. And at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, had nothing but victory. When dawn came, the star-spangled banner waved defiant.”

The US Army took over the airports?  During the war for independence or in 1812?  Two hundred years before there were airports?  Just another example of Trump’s mindless recitation of lines written by someone else.  If he loses track, he just substitutes phonetics, much like Beatles cover bands in Bangkok.  If it’s close, it’s good enough for this guy.  Clearly, Trump spent more time on watching Fox News for instructions than rehearsing his speech for his “lifetime experience”.

For those of you who are the praying kind, those prayers are being answered.  It’s pouring rain in Washington, DC, and there are special weather warnings for heavy rain and lightning until 9 pm.  It might be a happy 4th of July after all.  Happy #4thofyoulie !

Trump’s takeover of the 4th of July is complete.  The Park Service is having to shift millions of dollars over from other projects to accommodate his Miss America style display, and he’s taken over the Mall for himself.  He’s going to hold a political rally on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, take the entire area around the reflecting pool in front of the memorial for his high dollar donors, and use US military personnel as props for his cheesy Salute to America Twitterfingers’ Tiny Hands.  He’s going to park tanks on the mall, move the picnic honoring military families away from the South Lawn of the WH to the Mall, bring the Blue Angels back from holiday leave to do a fly over of the Mall, and, of course use Air Force One as his own.

He’s moved the fireworks down to Potomac Park and made it larger than the Bicentennial display in 1976 using private donations.  Even worse, the Smithsonians’ Folk Life Festival, a 10 day celebration that has been held over the 4th for over 50 years was cut down to 2 days, and ended this weekend.  It was shortened because Trump’s idiotic government shutdown over the holidays  caused planning to be also shut down making it impossible to hold the entire event.  Thanks for nothing, Donnie.  And, all of this will likely cost well over $100 million before he’s finished.  All we need are banners of Trump’s likeness carried by young MAGA sycophants goose stepping down Constitution Ave.

Two bright spots are planned, though…first, the Trump Baby blimp has been approved to fly over the event, and several veterans organizations will be handing out USS John McCain t shirts for vets to wear

I cannot describe in words how much I despise this worthless thing who inflicts himself on the American people 24/7.  He’s stolen our culture, our elections, our economy, our soul, our history, our traditions, common decency, and now even our national holiday to honor – himself.
