Jeffrey Epstein, being held for trial in a jail in Manhattan was found dead in his cell this morning.  Wait – what?  I thought he was on suicide watch.  At minimum, the guys doing the watching suck at their jobs.  At worst this is just plain old stink to high heaven fishy.  Part of Epstein’s record was released just yesterday revealing just how bad this guy was, even containing details of how young girls were recruited for him at Mara Lago.  Yes, THAT Mara Lago.

It’s not unreasonable to believe that this was an, uhm…”assisted suicide” to get rid of him before the sordid details of his and Trump’s relationship spilled out all over the floor during his trial.  Based on Trump’s 40 year reputation for loving young girls, it’s not a stretch to imagine Trump being right in the middle of Epstein’s activities.

Is this just another flare up in the Trumpster Fire that is the current infestation of the White House, or will this one matter?  I’m not holding my breath.

We were all outraged when Trump spoke to the Hitler Youth Turning Point USA Youth Conference earlier this week when he falsely asserted that Article II of the Constitution allowed him to “do anything I want,” and spouted a three course menu of other lies.  It was one of those events staged to whip up the crowd and provide sound bites for Fox Noise to broadcast in a continuous stream, but it ended up causing rising derision and laughter.

What’s causing the laughter?  There was one little detail in the visuals projected onstage that no one noticed until it was too late – it was the presidential seal that Trump loves to liberally splash around (and attach to the cheesy crap that he sells on the side).  But the seal projected on the screen behind him onstage was not the actual presidential seal. The seal had been doctored with the eagle from the Russian seal, the arrows replaced by golf clubs, and the olive branch replaced with a wad of cash.  The “e pluribus unum” ribbon has been replaced by “45 es un titere,” which is Spanish for 45 is a puppet.”  For reference, here’s the Washington Post’s side by side comparison with the Russian seal:

The seal is being sold on T shirts by a merchant that calls itself “One Term Donnie“, which is pretty funny by itself.  Combine that with some absolute genius who engineered getting it projected right behind His Orangeness, this imagery is not only hilarious, it’s perfect.  This seal precisely illustrate’s Trump’s total devotion to his Russian handlers, his love of golf and his drive for ill-gotten cash.

Turning Point USA is frantically trying to find the person who did this.  When they find him/her, rather than being punished, they should be awarded the Nobel price for brilliance and bravery.  Oh, and I bet the person who dropped the ball on this at the WH is already fired.

Trump is now saying that he’s eager to fire Dan Coats, the Director of National Intelligence, then eliminate the position altogether.  That fits, right?  Because if there is one word that doesn’t describe Trump, it’s intelligence.

At 448 pages, the Mueller report is tough sledding, described as hard to read “as a terms of service” document.  Insider has solved that problem for you.  They hired Mark Bowden, a journalist and author who wrote “Black Hawk Down,” “Killing Pablo,” and “Hue 1968.”  They also hired an artist who illustrates graphic novels.  Bowden took the entire Mueller report and supporting documents to masterfully write a narrative description, complete with illustrations, of the findings of the Mueller report.  The read is long, but a page turner.  If you want to understand the stunning story of Trump’s criminality and horrible conduct, this is it.

Breaking:  The Second US Court of Appeals in NY has just ruled that it’s unconstitutional for Trump to block his critics on Twitter calling it a violation of users’ First Amendment rights.  This is the second ruling in favor of seven plaintiffs who have sued Trump for blocking them simply because they disagreed with him.  Trump’s lawyers had argued that his account was a private one, but the court brushed that aside pointing to the obvious daily evidence that he uses Twitter as an official communication platform for the WH.

Score one for the good guys.

To get your Monday off to a roaring start, the NYTimes is reporting that the DOJ has replaced the entire legal team defending Trump’s outrageous attempt to circumvent the SCOTUS by insisting that the citizenship question go on to the census form in defiance of their ruling.  According to reporting, lawyers in the federal programs branch of the DOJ were defending the case and are known for being particularly non-political.  Anonymous sources in the DOJ are confirming that this team of lawyers was refusing to sign the arguments that Trump, through Barr were insisting on, because those arguments are obvious and provable lies.  Trump’s solution?  Fire the entire team and bring in other more compliant lawyers.
