  1. Meet the new B.O.D., same as the old B.O.D.

  2. Grandma Ada says:

I looked the five up after I saw it in the Chronicle; none of them are from Texas, in fact one is in Cologne Germany!

    2
  3. Robert McClellan says:

If we let them get away with blaming the Green New Deal, etc. they won’t fix anything; in four or five more years we will be right back here.

    3
  4. The board chair just took office, I think she gets a skate, tbh.

These board members are scuttling away (and another board candidate withdrew before taking office) because this is a losing proposition – TX gonna blame someone and it clearly won’t be any of the more fully guilty parties, so ERCOT looks like a dandy substitute.

  5. Well, damn, another case where the wrong assholes are getting poleaxed first.

Don’t even have to watch the news to figure how Abbott, Patrick, Paxton, and every other Texass Rethug will be spinning this sucker up to ‘turbine full mil power/rpm, lit off max afterburner’.

    5
  6. Harry Eagar says:

If you live in Texas prepare to have your homeowners policy canceled. Insurers will be skedaddling as fast as they can, which in a state that dislikes regulations is likely to be pretty fast.

    6
  7. Steve from Beaverton says:

Too bad the energy companies can’t be sued for pain and suffering instead of them gouging their customers that had no power. How does work?

    7
  8. Um . . . dare i say it? That didn’t take long! Just don’t let them leave the country!

Just don’t let them leave the country!

I’m not a betting man, but I’d put down a dollar that they’re already in Cancun. Not the hotel Fled Cruz booked though, That’ll fool anyone looking for them.

    9
  10. Jane & PKM says:

While Abutt, Paxton and the usual suspects won’t prosecute themselves or ERCOT, maybe the insurance companies will. Texas is home to a number of military bases and retired veterans. If you have a home owner’s policy with USAA they will assist with lawsuits to reclaim the $$$ they are paying out in claims. BTDT with USAA; they paid us then joined in a lawsuit to hold the persons responsible accountable for our losses and theirs.

  11. thatotherjean says:

@Jane & PKM: USAA does that? Great! I hope they sue the socks off everybody at fault, not just the ex-board-members of ERCOT.

    11
  12. Litlhorn LLC says:

So ERCOT Out-of-Staters take the fall, leaving the Abott appointed PUC in place, who are the ones who tied ERCOTS hands at every turn and are the ones allowing those High ass bills.SMDH

  13. Fred Farkleshine says:

Texas Energy Board Leaders Resign After Power Outage Catastrophe
The chairwoman and three other board leaders of Texas’ power grid operator have resigned – and get this: none of them live in Texas.

  14. @Jane & PKM #10 – I also have USAA. They’re fantastic! I’m glad they’re being activist on this!
