And Speaking of Texans

Okay, so a guy who lives just outside of Fort Worth decided the best way to be a good American Christian was to threaten to shoot his children if they ratted him out as an insurrectionist.

I’m not jacking with you.

Guy Reffitt went to the Capitol on the 6th and reminded his children that he went there to protect the country. And, for good measure, told them  ….

On Jan. 11, Reffitt commented to his son that he had to “erase everything” because the FBI was now watching him. Reffitt also told his son that if he crossed the line and reported him to police, that would put the family in jeopardy and Reffitt would have no option but to do his duty to protect the country and “do what he had to do,” according to the complaint.

Oh wait, he’s not finished yet.
.
In another threat, Reffitt told his son and daughter, “If you turn me in, you’re a traitor and you know what happens to traitors … traitors get shot,” according to the complaint.
The police identified him from his own pictures at the Capitol. He’s been arrested.  His wife said she didn’t believe he would act on any of these threats.
.
Yeah?  Ya think? It seems to me, Honey, that he’s let you know what’s important to him, and it ain’t you or those kids.

  1. Sam in Superior says:

Sounds like someone was raising their kids using James Dobson’s techniques.

  2. Putting your violent husband over your kids.
    Those poor, poor kids

  3. I doubt it’s limited to Texas. Anywhere toxic masculinity abides with firearms will be a likely source of this “special snowflake”.

I just hope he gets deprogrammed enough to realize family is for protecting, not armor…

  4. Steve from Beaverton says:

She and her husband remind me of the cultists in Rexburg, ID that did do away with their kids. Different cult, but just as delusional.

  5. I sure hope after January 20th we can Make Words Great Again. You know, so they mean something when people speak.

Must be a great relationship when even your wife doesn’t believe what you say.

  6. Opinionated Hussy says:

In her shoes, I could not leave fast enough.

He needs extra prison time for ‘threats of bodily harm’.

  7. The Surly Professor says:

Ahem. Wylie is just outside of Dallas, not Fort Worthless. As for the knucklehead from Grapevine (Larry Brock), I’m willing to let Fort Worth claim ownership of him. At least Grapevine is in Tarrant County.

From my vast experience with this kind of idjit, here’s my prediction: 1. He’ll deny everything, until his lawyer lays it out for him that the evidence is crushing. 2. He’ll take a plea bargain for some felony, followed by him bleating how he’s really innocent and just took the plea to spare his family (yup, the hypocrisy is overwhelming). 3. He’ll end up with probation but no prison time. 4. A few years from now, we’ll read about him being busted with a truck load of guns and ammo, for which he’ll claim they don’t belong to him, and anyway he had no idea that felons aren’t allowed to own/carry/use guns.

  8. On another Texas thing:
The giant H-E-B grocery chain, headquartered in San Antonio, is joining many other retailers in dumping “My Pillow” products [BB&B, Kohls, Wayfair, maybe even Walmart].

My Pillow’s CEO/owner Mike Lindell [political & talibangelical whackjob] has been a close Trump ally and advisor, especially recently, including taking a prominent role in the January 6 insurrection.
He seems to now have even greater influence with Comrade Donnei as many other close DJT rats have jumped off of the rapidly sinking SS Trumptanic.

Reckon I’m going to order some H-E-B stuff for delivery real soon [including a slab of delicious BBQ].

  9. Cannot fathom those victims of cruelty who still say they love.their husband, father, fience, or whoever is hurting them.

  10. maggie, me, neither. I went to 1 Al-Anon meeting to try to learn how I could save my marriage by understanding mine, and that was all it took to make me decide to grab my kids and get out. And mine wasn’t nearly as bad as most of theirs were!
