And It Does Not Stop In North Carolina

If a Republican County Commissioner in New Mexico had his druthers, some guy in North Carolina would have already shot me dead.

“I’ve come to a place where I’ve come to the conclusion that the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat,” he said to a crowd gathered in Sierra County.

Commissioner Couy Griffin says he meant “political death,” not the dead kind of dead, but that wasn’t what the crowd cheered for.

That picture over there is of Cuey during some desperate times in his life.  His Cowboys for Trump PAC neglected to file all the necessary paperwork for PACs.

One more reason to elect sane Democrats and keep our eyes open on voting day!

  2. He said:
    Dead.
    He said he meant:
    Political death.

All that spinning & cartwheeling makes him sound:
    Brain dead.

  3. People like this man, and you know there more like him, are the reason why I don’t put bumper stickers on my car, wear a tee shirt with a political theme or put a political candidate sign in my yard.

  4. Why does he have Rand Paul’s hair around his neck?

Some people are just entitled by the cosmic BS machine that produces MAGAts and flying @$$monkeys. And then there are the rich entitled…

At what point does their 1st amendment rights cross over to criminal threatening my rights. Including to be left alone. And yet I’m branded a snowflake for finding such rhetoric intolerable, not unlike feeling threatened by people openly carrying weapons that are designed for hunting people…

  6. That guy’s a county commissioner from Otero County, which consists of Alamogordo, White Sands National Park, Holloman Air Force Base, a few small communities, and no cattle ranches of much significance on account of the ownership of nearly all its land by the U.S. government. That’s because it’s on the eastern edge of White Sands Missile Range, which spreads over more land than some eastern states.

I lived there many years ago when I worked at the air base, and it seemed to me to have more than its share of right wing crazies, i.e., the John Birch Society kind. Looks like it hasn’t changed much.

I still live here and you are correct BFS. We’re still ruled by a bunch of right wing crazies. The election in ’16 the voters of Otero county voted to expand the county commission to 5 members. Cuoy and his cohorts have ignored the will of the people and have kept the commission at 3.
I’m told ol` Cuoy has been locked out of his county office and his wife has filed a restraining order against him due to his travels and ignoring social distancing rules that could expose his young son to the virus. But that’s not as important to Cuoy as getting the adoration of the orangutan in the oval.
As JJ would say, he’s all hat and no cattle. And no Wrangler butt either!

Further proof that when the county seat of Sierra County changed its name to Truth or Consequences it was in response to the old TV game show.

  9. I live next door to Otero county and some of the crazy bleeds over. Our county commissioner opposed having people wear masks.

  10. Years ago I had a learning experience consisting of some backwoods “boys” from Georgia. Ignorant as hell even though they managed to live through 12 years of schooling. They insisted they were threats to society at that time and I was smart enough to know they believed they were and were also more than willing to prove it. Always – but always – spoiling for a life or death fight even over the time of day. Bit city cops got hold of then and proved how tough they weren’t. They went back to the backwoods. However, I am certain they propagated so in effect they are still around with murder in their eyes.
