Love it. Couldn’t happen to a more disgusting fellow. My wife got a call from the Beto campaign last night. She said the guy was hyperventilating to find a Beto supporter at last. I hope he gets more air time.

Here’s Some Great Career Advice from Captain Kirk

In the second Star Trek film there’s a scene wherein Captain Kirk’s Enterprise is under attack by another Federation starship, the Reliant. In their attempt to repulse the attack, Kirk and Spock break out the Prefix Code, a whollydefensive measure in case an enemy seizes a starship. By utilizing this code, true Starfleet personnel can regain control of a ship that has fallen into enemy hands.

That’s when Kirk, just prior to explaining the Prefix Code’s significance, delivers a great piece of advice that, adapted to everyday life, serves as a great lesson no matter what career we’re find ourselves.

The line is this: “You have to understand why things work they way they do on a starship.”

    Wow!

substitute your own business for “starship”. If you take a moment to ponder, you may quickly see the value in that piece of advice.

“You need to learn why things work the way they do.”

A grunt just learns what works. A leader learns why that thing works, and can then transfer that understanding into other scenarios.

Raphael and other conservative elected officials haven’t enough years in their lives left to learn this simple yet valuable lesson. From science fiction.

Any news on whether Cruz’s site was hacked, or whether he forgot to buy his own domain name?

    11
  12. ThrowCautiontotheWind says:

Looks like the latter; Cruz’s official site is TedCruz.org. His campaign must have forgotten to buy the .com domain.
