Dumb As Bean Dip.

March 21, 2021 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Texas senator John Cornyn is pointing fingers and whining again instead of finding solutions and fixing problems.

Some of the migrants are being brought to Dallas.  They will be temporarily housed in the Dallas Convention Center.

Okay, so they are giving the vaccine outside. The migrants will be inside. Two, it’s a big joint. You can do two things at once there. Three, last time I was in Dallas, they had more than one big ole place with a big parking lot. Four, Dallas has opened up a three additional distribution point this weekend. And five …

— 100 days, 100M COVID vaccine shots guaranteed. 42 days ahead of schedule.

That’s got be eating at Cornyn’s skanky nasty old heart.  Competence is one battlefield he can’t fight on.

Thanks to AlaninAustin for the heads up.

Scam!

March 21, 2021 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

The Daily Beast has done some outstanding reporting on scam political PACs, a favorite topic here at the beauty salon.

The Daily Beast surveyed the top 25 grossing PACs that style themselves as law enforcement and veterans support groups. We found they collectively pulled in more than $85 million over the last four years. For perspective, that’s about $18 million more than the two top-raising House campaigns combined over that same time period.

Let’s take veteran scam PACs as an example.

They found that only 4 out of 34 PACs established in past 4 years claiming to raise money for veteran political causes were legitimate. Only 4. However, veterans PACs founded prior to 2016 are all legitimate.

That means that 88% of veterans PACs created in the last four years are scams that are collectively stealing tens of millions of dollars every year from an unsuspecting public – mainly retired people on fixed incomes.

The people donating to these PACs think they are giving to causes that actually help veterans, or firefighters, or police. Most of them are contacted by phone and that’s why most of them are older people – they are the only ones with landlines.

Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA), a former consumer protection attorney, has co-sponsored legislation with Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw of Texas to help put an end to scam PACs.

Damn, I wish them luck.

Thanks to Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen for the heads up.

Happy Headlines

March 19, 2021 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

We have another Friday Happy Headlines for your weekend enjoyment.

Tussaud’s Waxworks in Alamo Plaza in San Antonio had to remove their Donald Trump figure because …

… people kept punching it in the face.

Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks in Alamo Plaza has packed away a figure of the former reality show star-turned-former president after visitors took out four years’ worth of frustrations on it.

Have a good weekend.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

Chip Roy

March 19, 2021 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I was outta pocket yesterday when Chip Roy up and blurted something weird, mean, and bigoted in the middle of a damn congressional hearing.

He said that there’s a common saying in Texas about a rope and a tall oak tree.  I’m a fifth generation Texan on my momma’s side and I have never heard that.

Chip Roy is from Maryland. He came to Texas as a adult and was the ghostwriter for George W’s book.  He also worked for John Cornyn, was First Assistant for Ken Paxton, and became Ted Cruz’s chief of staff.  So, I have no damn idea what manner of caca del toro he has heard while in Texas. A piano player in a whorehouse would have been subject to more proper and intelligent conversation.

I wish he’d just shut his mouth instead of repeating horrid crap he has heard in the back rooms he frequents.

Today he has doubled down.  He’s refusing to see the errors of his ways.  He also learned that from the men who never learned that.

The bottom line is that is not an “old saying” in Texas.  That is a new saying, brought to you by the highest levels of the Texas Republican Party.

Well This Is Just Wrong

So, it’s a creepy source but you know it’s gotta be true.

You know how there’s a law that says prisoners cannot profit by writing a book about their crimes? Yeah, well, I think it should include this.

Kellyanne Conway spins White House stint into multimillion-dollar book deal

So she wants to make a lot of money justifying all the crappy things she sat quietly and watched Donald Trump do.

I’m not buying it. In any way, shape, or form.

Oh, That’s Nice. We Have a List.

March 18, 2021 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I like lists. They keep me from going to the grocery store and buying 115 items, none of which are the one thing I came to get.

We now have a list of the people (cough, cough) serving in congress who think it’s okay to kill police officers, try to kill members of congress, and wreck the capitol while trying to overthrow the United States.

Here is a handy, nifty little list of the congress varmints who voted against awarding  the Congressional Gold Medal to Capitol Police and those who protected the Capitol on Jan 6

.
Texas is star spangled screwed because we have two people on the list — Louie Gohmert and Lance Gooden.  ON EDIT: I stand corrected. We also have Michael Cloud from the Victoria area.  So, we have won the trifecta – three Texas congressfools are trying to rewrite history that we saw with our own eyes.
.
For his part Louie is all bent outta upright over the dead sold guaranteed fact that the event was insurrection.  I think he wanted to call it a Sunday Baptist picnic invaded by ants, but I’m not sure that’s the exact wording he wanted. But it was something like that.
