Get Up and Dance On Top of the Table!

The Harris County probe into Planned Parenthood selling human organs has ended in an indictment …

… of the damn people making the incrimination video.

Here ya go.

A Harris County grand jury probe into Planned Parenthood of the Gulf Coast ended Monday with the indictments of two anti-abortion activists.

David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt were both indicted for tampering with a governmental record.

And …

Daleiden and Merritt were involved in undercover videos that surfaced last year appearing to show a Planned Parenthood official discussing reimbursement fees associated with fetal tissue procurement and donation.

The videos prompted Gov. Greg Abbott to call for an investigation into the organization.

I predict that Greg Abbott will call for an investigation of the investigation on National Investigation Day for Investigations Anonymous with an Investigation Beater.

My question:  who gets to tell Greg Abbott that he has egg all over his face?

This is what happens when you do away with Pick-a-Pal grand juries in Texas.  It also means that Greg Abbott signed the law that’s gonna make him look silly.  Karma, Baby.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

Be social and share!

Of course the Right will be outraged, this violates their right to have an alternate version of the truth.

  2. Every once in a while the good side wins and the liars have to pay for their lies. Not often enough, but it sure feels good when it happens.

Abbott & eggs just go together.

Grabbed my ol’ ice skates and a velvety circle skirt because Hell must have frozen over when they indicted those two con artists!

What was that old Clint Eastwood line: “Go ahead, make my day”. This news made me so happy!! I hope I read it again in the NYT and hear it on the news all over. Plus, gotta’ write another check to PP!! Yippee . . .. .

  6. I am no longer able to dance on tables, but I assure you that I am doing a happy dance seated in my chair and waving my cane about and wishing I had some confetti! Yes!

  7. I guess the film makers will have to give up their dream of winning an Oscar.

Maybe next time they can try and edit a Sarah Palin speech into something intelligible. Not intelligent, as that’s clearly impossible, but their target audience might appreciate words formed into sentences for a change

    7
  8. And the story as seen on Faux Noise: Crickets

    8
  9. Mere words can not express how happy this makes me, like Susan and Ellie I’m thinking it’s time to dust off those dancing shoes. Now if we can just indict them on conspiracy, intent to incite violence and murder for th Colorado shootings…..

Hooray!! I agree with Rhea … the good just does not happen often enough anymore!!

    ;o)

  12. I hope by now you’ve seen in on the front page of the NY Times online, Mark. I found it there about an hour ago and yelled so loudly my husband thought I was going crazy — until I told him why I was yelling. And, daChipster, you’re exactly right about unintended consequences and its go-withs. Let’s hope for more of the same.

  15. Susan on the Left Coast says:

Since there’s nothing left to hurl after days of food poisoning…your cohorts on the left coast dove into rabid right winger “Twitchy” web site operated by Michelle Malkin

    Here is her headline:

“‘DISGUSTING’: Texas grand jury indicts activists who exposed Planned Parenthood’s fetal organ trafficking”

Right out of the gate this comment: “Would I be out of line if I assumed that Planned Death-hood doesn’t just use tax dollars to kill babies, but to payoff grand juries as well? Because a payoff is the only thing that makes sense here.”

A petite and winsome Penny responded: “Nope, not out of line at all. But this IS Houston we’re talking about here. They’re not right in the head”

    15
  16. Indiana Pearl says:

    Schadenfreude . . .

    16
  17. Now these liars need to be forced to repay Planned Parenthood the millions the group has probably spent defending itself in the multiple investigations prompted by their lies. I hope the families of those gunned down in Colorado by the maniac who said “no more baby parts” will also sue them for wrongful death. Glee at their indictments is fun, but they’ve done a hell of a lot of damage. Plenty of anti-choice right-wingers will repeat their lies for decades and others will believe them.

    17
  18. The last time I danced on a table, I broke it. The reminders are harsh…

Maybe Pope Gregory will begin to understand that his frontal lobe is so close to his cloaca maximus that his BS is showing. I don’t expect a Saul on the road to Damascus conversion, but dang, it’s pretty obvious to all but the most morally blind that the Pope is barking up the wrong tree. Pandering is vainglory, and more than 1500 years ago Gregory’s antecedent recognized it as a cardinal sin.

    18
  19. Was so happy, and surprised, to see this today. Occurred to me that Devon Anderson just torpedoed her political career (as a Republican). Greg Abbott, of course, says we don’t care what the facts say, we gonna continue investigating even though there’s no there, there.

  21. Elise Von Holten says:

With the horrible virus that in now in the offing….all women in mosquito laden southern wet States who can become pregnant need birth control more than ever. Other governments are asking fertile women to hold off on children for two years–hard to do with aspirin between your knees…rational people understand birth control means FEWER abortions. This arrived just in time, although you can’t fix stoopid…or willful fact skipping.

    21
  22. Someone ask Ab Butt
“are you still beating your wife?”
If we say it happened, does that make it true that it happened?

    22
  23. YES! YES!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God I love it when things like this happen. I’m going sledding tomorrow and I’m will be screaming with joy all the way down the hill!

    Yippee skippee and how-dee-doo! Woo-hoo!

I’ll sleep and hope to dream about further judicial discoveries from following the financing supplied (if prosecuted under RICO laws).

  28. Linda Phipps says:

Good comment Elise Von Holten, and now, to add, if not the cherry on top, at least the nuts scattered around, SCOTUS has struck down the North Dakota “fetal heartbeat” law. I think we all have plenty of “Yee-Ha” to go around.

    28
  29. Just to remind everyone, Texas is the 8TH State to find PP innocent as charged by the right wing nuts.

8 grand juries in 8 different states bought off?

Republican thinking. Conspiracy if I don’t get my own way. Not, I may be wrong.

    29
  30. Oh, WMDBS! You have made my day! Karma, karma, karma! How beautiful that sounds! I am still snowed in despite all best efforts. Have shoveled a little path from the back door to the car but can’t get the car doors open due to the depth of snow on each side. Everything still closed here:federal, state, local governments, schools, etc. Thus, this news brings great warmth and even merriment! An indictment in TX against the PP videographers! Can spring be far behind!

    30
  31. for the first time in a long time………..might there be a higher power doing the right thing???

    31
  32. e platypus onion says:

Daleiden and Merritt could end up in prison with an Oscar as a cell mate. That would be awesome. I live in hope, but I fear wingnuts will pass a law that says editing videos to suit their propaganda is worthy of a medal, not prison time.

    32
  33. It’s a great start. Better than I ever expected. Now for the trial and conviction. THEN we can party and dance and consume beverage of choice. 😀

    33
  34. I rejoice! Not just as a liberal, as woman and as the mother of daughters but as a lawyer whose faith in (most) of those who administer the law remains battered but unbowed.
Alas, however, I fear this will another case of a lie getting halfway around the world while truth was putting on its pants.
    I offer a non-political analogy:
Even Salonistas who do not live here in New England have heard of “Deflategate” in which the NE Patriots were accused of letting air out of footballs to give themselves some competitive edge in a playoff game.
An MIT professor of physics thought the report commissioned by the NFL seemed to fly directly in the face of the Ideal Gas Law. So the professor decided a lecture based on the NFL lab results would be a dynamite lesson for his students.
BUT: the NFL results were “irreproducible” (highest putdown in science).
Professor’s lecture went out on the internet.
Other university physics department tried their own experiments.
All came to the same scientific conclusion.
No one outside of Pats fans knows this–or cares.

    34
  35. e platypus onion says:

cairocat-did Indianopolis footballs lose air as well? If I remember they weren’t underinflated during the game. Seems like both sets of balls would act similarly in similar conditions.

    35
  36. e platypus,

“…both sets of balls [sh]ould act similarly in similar conditions…”
Well, that’s the Ideal Gas Law.
In this case the IA balls were inside (warmer temperatures) for longer (tested second) than the NE balls and so should not–and did not–lose as much air.

    36
  37. Polite Kool Marxist says:

For all their blather about Freedumb, the snailbupeR base are a bunch of control freaks. They lie, they distort and maintain their right to reject facts, while manufacturing facts. Their ‘plans’ since Dubya have created obstacles to medical science with the opposition to stem cell research.

“Love the fetus, hate the child” certainly should be their motto. They need to be called out for what they are: forced birthers and misogynists. And, it goes beyond misogyny. These alleged “smaller government” busy bodies are not only all about taking health care from women. They advocate for taking family planning decisions from the two most important people in a child’s life, the parents.

Their position of reproductive health care parallels their “penny wise, pound foolish” economic ‘plan.’ Ask Dick Cheney or any of the snacilbupeR who have benefited from organ donation why entire organs are OK, while cell tissue is an issue with them. These pervangelists are A-OK with a child’s heart beating in their cavities, but they’re against stem cell research which would enable them to regenerate their own diseased body parts.

The recent victories for Planned Parenthood have been momentous. Cecile Richards is certainly her mother’s daughter. Without a doubt her rout of that little dufus Chaffetz is shaping the debate and had those grand jury people thinking.

From momentous forward to momentum. High priority in regaining what has been lost will be to frame the debate with facts and smack the lies out of snacilbupeR mouths with big shiny lights on all of their false equivalencies.

    37
  38. @cairocat

In terms of full disclosure I can say I am not an NFL fan in any way, although I like the names and history of the Broncos, Colts and Cowboys.

I spose I could squeeze a tear for the long suffering Patriots fans, but the whole plume of suspicion and innuendo that hangs aboot the physically bloated visage of Bill Belichick like a rotting corpse turns me off. Deflated balls and illicit film of practices is just par for the course in Belichickistan. I presume he is an unrepentant snacilbupeR: greedy, intolerant and like Raphael, a jerk.

    38
  39. Micr, don’t be so circumspect. How do you really feel about Belicheck?

    39
  40. @Debbo

    “Get a rope.”

    40
  41. So, Ryan & rethugs were doing all this investigating about PP, touting the recordings (which they knew about beforehand)
this makes them complicit in the whole affair, I have to wonder when they will get investigated!
