My sister is a single mom and her kids are doing great. Her oldest just got accepted to college. Whenever I hear one of these dicks talking shit about single moms I want to smack him.

13Single moms are the heroes of this society, working so hard to support, educate, feed, clean and raise good kids while their ex husbands are off having “fun” with somebody younger. They also care for their elderly and infirm parents so they can die with dignity. And then they have open heart surgery and a pacemaker to keep them ticking while the likes of Santorum threaten to cut off Social Security and pensions. Rick, you’re nothing but another Repug dick!

20There are lots of reasons ,moms raise children alone. Some choose to not marry. Some are left alone by irresponsible partners. Some are left alone by partners who are incarcerated (we lock people up for really insignificant drug charges). And like austinhatlady said….some are alone because of our obsession with war. So there are lots of Republicans who are responsible for all those single moms, he complains about. My mother was widowed at 46…she had three children at home. She did a great job.
21I am/was a single Mom on purpose-the first single person in my state to adopt a child from Family & Children’s Services.
It was the most difficult and most rewarding act of my life. My “kid” now older than I was then, is educated, intelligent, caring, contributing member of American society–and also a delight to know. (And a Democrat.)
