YES!

December 06, 2022 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I lost my bet but, damn, just watching Joe Manchin shrink about 3 inches was worth it all.

And Mitch McConnell can kiss my big blue butt.

Just pondering right now. Can we do better than Chuck Schumer?

Warnock win = 6 big important years. Mitch AND trumpf can kiss our asses!!!!

  2. Sandridge says:

Hot Daammn! Sen. Warnock [and millions of supporters] pulled off a squeaker of a runoff election, by a 1.2% margin.

Really, the only explanation for so many obviously braindead Georgians to cast so many votes for a cretinous, completely incompetent candidate like Herschel Walker is that our system is nearly finished; nearing end-stage idiocy.

US democracy has to be on it’s last legs when a decent, clearly superior person like Raphael Warnock –barely ekes out a win– over a totally wasted dumbfuck like Walker.

    Candidate Total Votes % Votes
    Raphael Warnock (D) *1,721,057 50.6%
    Herschel Walker (R) 1,680,557 49.4%
    1,680,557 idiots…
To go with the ~74+ millions that still idolize DiJioT, the Rufous Ratbastard.
Y’all thinking that this SOB can’t win in 2024 had better pull your heads out of your butts quick.

  3. Great news! Pleasantly surprised by Walker’s gracious concession.
If not Schumer, who? Brown? Warren?

    3
  4. WA Skeptic says:

My main question is WHY is there such a narrow win by the Reverend Warnock and such support of that fool?

    4
  5. Better than Schumer? Damn right we could do better. It’s just not in the cards.

The fact that the Ga. vote could be that close is frightening.

    5
  6. By the morning light, not so narrow a win, 51.4% to 48.6%. It takes a while to count those big blue counties. Still, in a sane world it would have been 70-30.

    6
  7. Catherine Riley says:

The margin of winning was so close because so many people will vote for the worst example of a minority candidate who is put up by the racist Republicans. They bet, almost correctly, that their Tap Dancing Damaged Case could draw enough racist’s votes to eke out a win over a superior minority candidate and he would be a pawn in their game to overthrow democracy. If Stacy Abrams and the good folks of Georgia had left it alone, the rwnjs would have won. Congrats to Senator Warnock.

    7
  8. Putting up a literally brain damaged meat puppet because he could be relied upon to do as he’s told just demonstrates that the Confederacy is not dead in either Georgia or among the Rs.

    8
  9. @mollusk
The confederacy is dead—-these people are members of the
zombie confederacy. Un-dead. They will last longer than the original confederacy;which technically was only in existence for four years.

    9
  10. Easttxdem says:

Schumer replacements — Amy Klobuchar, Cory Booker

And, please, Arizona, replace that weird Cinnamon woman with a true Democrat in 2024. She’s unpredictable, unreliable and way too cozy with big corporate money.

    10
  11. Jane & PKM says:

We’ll take the win, Ms. JJ! Congratulations on your victory, Sen/Rev Warnock. Good news for President Biden and VP Harris – Joe Manchin can kiss all of our blue butts as court appointments can go forward w/o his ‘help.’ Texas, if you’re lucky Herschel won’t find his way home after carpet bagging in Georgia. He might become lost in Aladamnbama or Mudsissippi. So long as he stays lost who cares? Major H/T to Ms. Stacy Abrams and all the volunteers who assured the Warnock win for Georgia and the country.

Feeling your sighs of relief today, Georgia. The Senate election here in Nevaduh was also way closer than it should have been. Lordy. Adam Laxalt or Herschel Walker?!? What will it take to move intransigent “R” voters away from voting against their own interests? We need ads and large banners showing scoundrels of Moscow Mitch, Morton C. Blackwell and the remaining Koch brother directly worded: seriously you deplorables & morons think these guys are on your side?

    11
  12. Easttxdem @ 10,

I was thinking – Katy Porter might be really good, or one who would make the Reps quake in their shoes..Liz Cheney.

Lots of us dems in AZ want Sinema primaried. Turned out, she lied about her real intentions. She’s only there to create an image for herself with her antics and to be a congressional prostitute for corporate money. Sinema was the only Dem choice. other than voting for the Rep. Martha McSally, who was sucking up to TFG.

    12
  13. Harry Eagar says:

Any other Republican — even Perdue — would have won.

And why is the (apparent) self-stabbing of the Cruz daughter being ignored?

My wife went to high school with the River Oaks kids. Long ago, to be sure, but . . . this story would have played bigger then, even without a senator.

    13
  14. Congratulations, Juanita Jean! You were just off by 1.2%–amazing. I guess there was someone who bet closer to the 2.8% margin win that Warnock has so far. I’m glad Georgia has sane Senators (unlike Texas).

    14
  15. The Surly Professor says:

Harry, I did not know about Cruz’s (14 year old) daughter cutting herself. Things are rough for girls her age (*) but it’s got to be REALLY bad to have Rafael Slimeball as a dad. I’m sure right now he’s thinking “Good thing I have another daughter to blame the next time I go to Cancun during an emergency in Texas”.

(*) yeah, I know: too many American kids don’t have enough to eat, a secure home to live in, or safety in their schools. But they are facing an increasingly fascist America and climate catastrophes that could have been avoided by their parents and grandparents generations. And for the daughter, her father is one of the people who have encouraged both problems!

    15
  16. Jane & PKM says:

Harry Eagar @13 to your second question there are a number of answers. Respect for the child and family. Occasionally even the press shows some respect, unless the child has Democratic parents. Later ***if*** Teddie Crooze was a man, he’d speak up about the crisis too many teenagers experience and advocate for health care. But even after being shot in the butt, Steve Scalise cannot bring himself or other GOPers to speak sense to the gun safety issue. So, sadly, not expecting Teddie to bring any enlightenment to mental health issues.

Sickening. Even when it’s their own butt or child, we cannot expect either legislative solutions or honesty from the GOP.

    16
  17. Harry Eagar says:

The incident is reported in the digital tabloids but almost nowhere else. (I know of it only because Apple News put it in my roundup.) The girl is described as bisexual and in conflict with one or both of her parents.

This opens up all kinds of room for speculation, which I will not pursue.

But I am well aware of the crises of the rich kids, who are, after all, just as much kids as the poor kids. I mentioned my wife in high school because she gets along with everybody, even me, but even she found the Bellaire students difficult to like.

    17
  18. Sandridge says:

Harry Eagar @17, Bellaire! Man, I could tell you some stuff about Bellaire & RO…

    18
  19. People, let’s stop talking about a child in crisis.

    19
  20. Harry Eagar says:

Msb. why? But if we do, then no more complaints about how LGBTQ kids need protections, right?

    20
  21. Harry Eagar @ 20,

It’s so sad that this young teenage girl is going through such a difficult time with a father like Cruz, who is more interested in maintaining his political image than the care/support his daughter needs.

    21
  22. Rick Stelter says:

It’s far past the time that Schumer was replace. He hasn’t worked for either the Democratic Party nor the USA for years, not to mention his slipping mental faculties. The Dems have to realize that having the party controlled by 80 year old millionaires that haven’t been in the real world for 3 or 4 decades is a piss poor political strategy in these days.
I applaud Nancy for quitting, time for Chuckles to follow her example.

    22
  23. I waiting to see how long it takes Manchen and Sinema to bale on the Democrats and sidle over the the Republicans. They could then continue to be ‘King Makers’.

    23
  24. Steve from Beaverton says:

JeffA- been thinking the same thing about Manchin and Sinema. Besides their need for power, they have something in common with repugnanticans- they hate Biden (and democrats). Doubt it’ll take long to find out.

    24
  25. Harry Eagar says:

Manchin won’t. He’s a visceral Democrat, and besides would not be welcome in the WV GOP.

Sinema is a bi Green and would not be welcome in the national GOP. I expect she might resign if the right plum were dangled. She appears to be bored out of her mind.

Papa @21 Tough being anybody’s kid sometimes, but she didn’t pick Ted. He, however, did pick his role as part of the national family values movement, and if she gets swept along, too bad, but it happened to — among many others — Chelsea Clinton.

Depends on the daddy. Both Thomas Raskin ad Hunter Biden have been made figures of the national news when neither (I suspect) would have wanted to.

    25
  26. Harry Eagar says:

Sandridge @ 18. Tricia was at Bellaire only for a year, then transferred to Needham Broughton in Raleigh, the school that also produced Sidney Powell.

It’s hard to predict post-high school life paths. The baddest boy in my class ended up in charge of all the federal prisoners in North Carolina.

    26
  27. Steve from Beaverton says:

Manchin has joked about switching parties and threatened to become an independent. So I’ll agree he won’t become a republican, but I still think Manchin and Sinema might team up to disrupt Biden’s agenda on occasion. As a team, they can negate VP Harris as a tie breaker.

    27
  28. publius bolonius says:

I don’t blame Herschel. He was a great player. His present issues are likely the result of taking thousands of blows to the head over the course of his athletic career. Just sayin’.

    28
  29. Jane & PKM says:

Papa @21, we all feel for both Teddie Crooze’s daughter and the daughter of George and Kellyanne Conway. If only those soulless Republicons had the ability to feel for their own children much less the children of others. Lordy. They don’t care about their own kids, yet they want to legislate for all children? So done with the GOP/QNP, their lack of governance. As Ms. JJ would say, they can kiss my blue butt.

Lordy. Electioneering. We nevuh get a break. Already time to prepare for 2024 and hope we can vote these varmints out of office.

    29
  30. Harry Eagar says:

Sinema goes independent. I don’t see that changing much except reducing still further her influence in the Senate, which was pretty close to 0 anyway.

It ain’t easy being the child of a prominenti, which no doubt keeps some more sensitive parents out of politics, thereby screwing the average sensitivity of congresscritters toward the Cruz end of indifference, malevolence, bigotry, opportunism and stupidity.

And now that dynamic seems to be affecting people in public life who are not by any measure prominenti, like voting regisars.

    30
  31. Walker was referred to in another not-blog as a national tragedy. That and sad for his mental problems were kind of how I felt and doubly so for the way he was callously used by the GOP to try and take down a wonderful Senator like Rev. Warnock.

    31
  32. Steve from Beaverton says:

Her influence in the senate when teamed with Manchin will be substantial. She timed all this to get maximum exposure after Warnock won and Schumer was confirmed to be leader in the Senate. If anyone thinks Manchin isn’t clamoring for his share of power and publicity, they’re dreaming. In my book, the senate is really 51-49, but not in favor of Democrats.

    32
  33. Steve from Beaverton: have nevr been able to figure out Manchin. His insistence that he cannot or is not able to explain to his constituency any of the items the Senate handles only tells me that 1.) its his own damn fault he lacks such oratory skills and 2.) this is just his way of saying his constituency is to stuppid to understnd what he is saying even if he did try to explain with pictures.
