Y’all, Painfully Dumb is a Horrible Condition

I am saddened to see everyone making fun of Miss Utah in her proud quest to be Miss USA.

First, the poor girl leaves alternating stripes of her dress at home and has to make do.

Then she gets a really, really hard question —

Question: “A recent report shows that in 40 percent of American families with children, women are the primary earners, yet they continue to earn less than men. What does this say about society?”

To which she answers —

“I think we can relate this back to education, and how we are … continuing to try to strive to [epic pause] figure out how to create jobs right now. That is the biggest problem. And I think, especially the men are … um … seen as the leaders of this, and so we need to try to figure out how to create educate better so we can solve this problem. Thank you.”

Y’all, look at the poor girl —

Her brains are dripping out her ears.  I mean, big night and she’s dribbling brain matter all over the stage.  You gotta feel bad about that.  When you are so stoopid that your brain gives up and tries to leave, you’re probably better off sticking to Miss Peach Pit Festival and leave the whole Utah thing to somebody whose brain has agreed to stay for the competition.

On the other hand, she was able to get out the phrase “create jobs,” which pretty much qualifies her to run for Congress as a Republican.

Be social and share!

I thought she did a really good Sarah Palin impression.

Well, she did say “Thank You” at the end so she’s got nice manners going for her.

I see a future at Fox for this one.

  3. Yes..a future at FOX…or a MORMON wife.

    3
  4. It was a Miss S. Carolina moment.

Let’s face it – for a lot of them, their one strong point is being pretty. Stop asking them questions.

  5. Part of some pageants, and Miss USA is one of them, is grace under pressure. If she needed time to think, she should have asked them to repeat the question and then answered.

Now, if she’d been trying to say that women were not being given the same educational opportunities as men, or were not being encouraged to follow the same career paths, regardless of aptitude or interest, that would have been cool. But if she was, it sure didn’t come out that way.

So, unfortunately, that leaves us with “bless her heart.”

  6. Just when ya think we might be making some headway against dumb- along comes Another ‘beauty contest’…

  7. Don’t forget the Miss USA contest is a Donald Trump production. He said he’s thinking about running for President in 2016, so as WC Peterson mentioned above… maybe Miss Utah has thrown her hat in the ring for VP?

    7
  8. Let me add that if she was showing her capability to be the Republican vice presidential nominee – – nailed it!

    8
  9. Actually, she sounded scared! Wonder why?

Why pretend that these things are anything other than bodies on parade. Asking the participants to answer important questions is supposed to give some sort of gravitas to the whole sham. It never does and nobody’s fooled. As Rick says, Donald Trump’s fingerprints are all over it.

  11. Umptydump says:

Gotta give this young lady a break. Responding to it demands the kind of expertise that only comes to experienced politicians. Some – like Louie Gohmert and John Cornyn – never master it either. It’s called doublespeak.

  12. Well, I, for one, think y’all are just being mean. I wasn’t offended by her answers. Why, I could sit and watch her breathe in and out for hours…and I’m only three-and-a-half-years-old!

Imagine how mesmerizing she’ll be by the time I get to be a teenager…

  13. Irish setters have been bred for looks. An unfortunate side effect is that they are as dumb as a bag of hammers.

Odds are you won’t be good at everything… though some are.

    NOT FAIR!

She could hardly tell the truth “It says that our society is controlled by men whose wienie esteem is directly tied to the size of their paycheck and there is only so much money to go round”

    Forget it, Jake, it’s Mormontown.

Dudes, she’s from UTAH! That right there denies the premise of the question. Of COURSE women earn less than men. It’s the right and proper course of nature. And if those 40% of women are the major bread earner, well, they should just toddle on over to Utah, where the men are MEN.

Suppose, for the sake of argument, that a Mormon man prefers that a wife work otuside the home. Even if she does only earn 77 cents to the male dollar, there’s 2 or 3 of them. So they are bringing home $1.54 or even $2.31. That’s PLENTY!

And if you prefer the monogamous marriage, well, then, just look at how well Ann Romney is doing. She’s First Lady, in her heart, no matter what that annoying election said; the GOP polls declared her so DAYS before they actually let the little people miscast their ballots.

I blame Miss Utah’s coach. She should have been taught to answer, “World Peace.”

  18. Katie Johnsonius says:

Y’all, she got it RIGHT! Her problem is clearly a lack of education.

If she had received a proper education, she would have been able to “solve this problem,” that being at the moment to answer the question. Critical thinking? How could she not have considered this conundrum on her own? I mean, for God’s sake, it’s been all over the news lately.

DaChipster may have it right… (even if his math is odd)…a Mormon mindset. She’ll likely be a Mormon man’s arm-candy soon, and make him mighty proud. Who needs critical thinking skills?

Another burlesque show — ho hum. Just like Donald Trump himself — also ho hum.
