Who’s the Chump? Trump, of Course.

December 22, 2019 By: El Jefe Category: North Korea

Remember when Trump and Kim Jong-un “fell in love” with “beautiful letters”?  Remember when Trump ignored everyone who knew what they were talking about and boasted that he was going to do a great deal, get Kim to shut down his nuclear program and start building beachfront hotels?  Remember when Trumpists told the rest of us that Trump was a genius, “unconventional”, and getting more done than any president in US history?

I do.  And the result of Trump’s go it alone strategy and unilateral disarmament of US forces in South Korea is complete disaster.  Kim’s nuclear program is stronger than ever, and John Bolton is now saying that the WH may have to actually admit that Trump miscalculated his ability to charm murderous dictators.  In an interview with Axios last week, Bolton was critical of Trump’s decision to go it alone and unconditionally meet with Kim.  He and other officials are saying that the US will likely have to return to it’s normal policy of strict sanctions and even intercepting ships illegally shipping fuels to North Korea.

At some point you’d think that Republicans would begin getting the message that Trump is nothing but a boastful buffoon who doesn’t have the slightest clue what he’s doing.  And they need to do that sooner rather than later.

  1. Scuttlebutt is that Kimmie-baby is going to test launch a newly designed honking big effing rocket [BFR ICBM] for the holidays, and it’s festively decorated for his BFF Comrade Donnei.

It’s rumored to be capable of hitting anywhere in the US of A with a DPRK nuke stinger [not just HI and the West Coast like Rocketman’s previous models].
It will almost certainly have a MIRV capability [Multiple Independently Targetable Reentry Vehicle] of 8 to 12 nukes per ICBM rocket.
Which means that, when it’s reentering the atmosphere from space over Denver, it can release a cargo of nuclear warheads that will strike Dallas, KC, STL, Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, NYC, DC, et al., etc., all at once.
So effing much “winning” it just chokes one up…

Lord, I hope that reports of Mr. Kim’s achievements have been somewhat exaggerated! Some nuclear disarmament, Donnie.

  3. A failure of character of life who was borne aloft by inheritance and didn’t have to accept failure when buoyed once again by the lawsuits countless frauds of all kinds. Then again, bargaining with the like minded corrupt political party who ensconced him in the the most powerful office to continue that party’s lust for power.

I keep thinking about the lies pouring out in the debate with Clinton; promises of not cutting SS, now numbering the tens of thousands.

The GOOPs are circling the drain and they know it. Retirement or obeisance are the only options. Either one comes with a dirge.

  4. In another Trumpian win, I keep forgetting to mention this one:
Last Wednesday at Freiherr Donnei’s Battle Creek, MI Nazi Rally, RAT45 bragged about how he singlehandedly resurrected the US steel industry and it was now booming [since ‘tariff wars’ were so easy to win].
Two days later on Friday, a huge Michigan steel plant, Great Lakes Steel Works in Ecorse, a suburb of Detroit about 100 miles east of Battle Creek, made an announcement that it would be permanently ceasing operations within a year, with the loss of at least 1500 jobs. Great Lakes Steel started early in the 20th century and provided many well-paid jobs to the Downriver area.

[it hit close as my dad retired from GLSW and other kin worked there]

    https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2019/12/20/1907049/-Michigan-steel-mill-closure-announced-two-days-after-Trump-told-Michigan-crowd-steel-is-back

“New York (CNN Business)US Steel is closing a mill near Detroit, laying off workers and cutting its dividend. The troubled company is trying to reverse operating losses it now forecasts for the fourth quarter.

The mill, called the Great Lakes Works, is expected to close its iron and steelmaking operations by April 1. The part of the mill that rolls slabs into sheets of steel will shutter by the end of next year. About 1,500 jobs will be lost, the company said. US Steel had already announced a temporary layoff of about 200 workers at the plant earlier this year.
The company may keep some adjoining operations and a warehouse open if justified by customer demand, it said. But it will shift the steel production to a plant in Gary, Indiana, where it recently made a $750 million investment.”

“Donald Trump, Wednesday in Michigan: “Look what I’ve done for steel. I mean, the steel is back. We taxed all the dumb steel coming in from China and other places, and US steel mills are doing great — they’re expanding all over the country, and they were gonna be out of business within two years the way they were going.”
Friday, CNN reported that US Steel is closing its Great Lakes Works mill near Detroit, with a loss of 1,500 jobs.”

  6. thatotherjean @2,

“…multiple sources are reporting that North Korea is on the brink of another rocket launch. And while Donald Trump has been able to wave away the last dozen or more launches as “small,” this one looks to be anything but. Instead it looks like Kim Jung un is preparing to let fly an ICBM with a greater range than any that his nations has launched before. One that could, theoretically at least, deliver a weapon almost anywhere in the United States.

On Thursday, the 38 North team at the Stimson Center noted activity at the Sohae Satellite Launch Facility, but as of that date, North Korea hadn’t done some of the housecleaning steps that usually come before a launch. Still, The New York Times is reporting that U.S. intelligence has their eyes glued to the situation, with a “Christmas present” expected from Pyongyang. Despite Trump tweeting that there was “there is no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea” following his meeting with Kim in Singapore, North Korea has continued to advance both the capability of their delivery systems and their stockpile of weapons. Estimates indicate North Korea now has around 38 nuclear bombs—more than double what it was thought to have a year ago.”

  7. The Republicans know very well what he is, but as long as they keep getting to pack the courts with right wingers, they won’t do anything. Plus, who knows how many of them are bought and paid for with either money or damning tapes. I’m still waiting to hear what is scaring Mz. Lindsey into hysterics.

  8. Buttermilk Sky says:

According to a new book (sorry, I didn’t get the title), when told that Seoul is fifteen miles from the North Korean border trump said, “They’ll have to move.” Another problem solved.

  9. Buttermilk Sky, what thous sayest! Been thinking much the same way myself. And eventually you just know it will all come out and Miz Lindsey will just have to retire to his fainting couch. for good.

  10. thatotherjean says:

So why is John Bolton yacking to everybody but the Congressional committees that want him to testify? If he has critical things to say about Trump–or not-so-critical things, I suppose–why isn’t he saying them to the people who can do something about them (maybe)? He clearly knows that Trump is a phony and a liar and doing damage to the country, but he refuses to tell what he knows under oath. Is his book really that vital to him, that he will continue to let the country be destroyed so it will sell lots of copies?

As long as the orange-shitgibbon continues to dismantle the regulatory infrastructure, business interests will continue to support it. As long as the interests of enterprise are of higher priority than social and financial equity and stability, we will face the dilemma of republi-cons & -can’ts ru(i)nning everything they touch.
