White House Shamed into Lowering Flag

July 03, 2018 By: El Jefe Category: Gleeful Cruelty and Dickishness

In typical fashion to burnish his reputation for gleeful cruelty and dickishness, Trump refused to order the lowering of the US flag on federal buildings to honor the 5 journalists murdered by a lone nut last week.  The request had been made by the Mayor of Annapolis, the governor of Maryland, and the Maryland congressional delegation.  After Trump’s predictable response, the uproar was loud, and getting louder; he finally capitulated this morning.

Jesus, I’m tired.  I’m all out of dickishness patience.

There is a place for anger, and THIS is it.

I am shocked to learn they can be shamed into doing anything. I thought they did not understand what shame is.

  2. When I heard about the request, I just tossed it over my shoulder. I knew what the response of the Golden Gibbon would be so I replay wasn’t shocked when he nixed it. But I am hyper-seriously glad that he got his tail caught in a closing door. He might not know what shame is but there are millions of us who an teach him.

The fact that he had to be shamed must not go unnoticed by anyone. He’s trying to appear tolerant of the Press now that 5 journalists were killed as a result of his inflammatory insults to reporters. What a crock! He has turned into Putin 2.0 with amazing alacrity. Down with Dump!

  4. Thirty miles down the damn road and he can’t honor them. “Dick” is one applicable word, or you could start it with two of his favorite letters: PR.

Journalists have been murdered on the job in Roanoke VA, where my husband grew up, and now in Annapolis MD, where we met. I’m dreading an attack on the Delaware County Daily Times in PA, where I grew up, for a personal hat trick.

  5. I don’t think shame had anything to do with the decision. More like political pressure from every direction…and as was said…he got his tail caught in the door.

A cousin and 45 supporter called me a “rabid dog” because I call him out on 45’s lies. I embraced the moniker. 45 does make me THAT MAD.

He reversed himself? How weak. The old trump would have doubled down and ordered all flags flown full-staff, night and day, FOREVER.

I think we’ve got him worried.

Well, at least he declared that he wouldn’t personally kill journalists. Before he waggled his hand and grinned.

Meanwhile, we all know he would if he thought he could get away with it. Putin’s apprentice.

It had nothing to do with shame, a concept utterly beyond the grasp of these soulless grotesques.

But they do have a rudimentary understanding of bad publicity. If something is polling badly enough, they’ll attend to it.
