Well, Yeah
A federal judge has ruled that the Trump administration’s decision to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census is unlawful.
Just add that to the list of Trump’s Unlawful Things, Skippy.
The purpose of the census is to know how many people are here, not to bring in ICE trucks and round up people Trump thinks we need to throw out. It’s also an opportunity to deny political representation to Hispanics.
Is it really fair to call Republicans racist merely because they keep doing racist things?
(/snark)
1(Wish there was a like button here, because I do like RepubAnon ‘s comment!)
Of course, TrumpWorld isn’t gonna leave it at that — the DOJ has already whined about how disappointed they are.
2If the Cons are so concerned about immigration, why is it they have never supported the prosecution of employers who exploit labor and promote undocumented migration to exploit? “Undocumented” is an easy fix: provide visas and simplify the process.
3Jane & PKM: I’m sure you know the answer: because if they’re not doing it themselves, their buddies in the mansion down the road are. We know Donnie is.
4Rhea, true dat. Guess what I want more of in the immigration discussion are our Democratic members of Congress solidly pointing out the hypocrisy of the Cons. Make them wear their HOR jackets; Hypocrite, corporate Owned, Racists. Collegiality be damned when the Cons lie, prevaricate, distort the facts, then whine about “we need to compromise.” Migrants are not the problem. They’ve never been the problem. Our system isn’t all that flawed, if the Cons would stop throwing obstacles into it and honestly work toward updating it. Won’t rant on about our foreign policies that have led to the problems in Central and South America complicating the issue …
5Easy way to stop drug smuggling and the violence that drives people out of Mexico and Honduras: legalize drugs.
Yeah, that’ll happen.
6Now can we prosecute Will- burr Ross for ?lying to Congress about this?
7Buttermilk Sky, by all means legalize some drugs, although I don’t indulge, I consider pot an herb. Decriminalize other drugs on the FDA hit list and before the snacilbupeR Congress varmints pretend there’s a problem at our southern border, address big Pharmi for their role in promoting addiction. And, the role of doctors and our military in their ‘contributions’ to drug addiction. Admittedly, drugs are about equal in my insufficient lexicon between geography and other stuff I don’t know. I was just a lucky guy with a high pain threshold and low drug tolerance, so came out of a USAF hospital with no addiction. And, the wherewithal to tell the pill pushers at the ED where to shove their prescription hillbilly heroin opioids. I don’t know, and I freely admit that – is China with fentanyl the latest source, or are we still doing the crazy redneck meth lab route of creating addicts and killing citizens?
I do know about El Salvador and their citizens rightfully, lawfully seeking asylum with good reason. It’s not about drugs, it’s about failed foreign policy exacerbated by Dotard45.
8That same thing a ma thing used to be on the census some years ago, but The Goldem Grifter wasn’t in office and ICE was not the T.Rex massaged by the Department of Homeland Security which didn’t exist then.
9I stumbled into podcasts recently, and Chris Hayes’ “Why Is This Happening” podcast covered this topic. Including the gotchas busting their questionable attempts to use the citizenship questions and why it could be a disaster for populated areas harboring undocumented immigrants…

10When did my hated childhood nickname, Skippy, become part of any dialogue? And yes, the thing in the WH is appalling in every way.
