Them ole boys in Bastrop still say it wasn’t a conspiracy theory. They say that they stopped it from happening. Yes, I am certain that the United States Military was going to take over the country at Barack Obama’s signal and put all WWII vets in reeducation camps in old WalMarts.
I guess President didn’t have enough rubber bullets and tear gas to break up this peaceful protest.
Delusions have no limits apparently.
1All Trump wants to do is throw gasoline on the fire, so he can watch it burn. I don’t thank the Governor Abbott for much-in fact, I can’t remember anything else–but I’m grateful that he’s not playing along, this time. Good move, sir!
2I keep thinking about the Kent State shooting, whose 40th anniversary was just marked on May 4. That massacre happened when the Ohio National Guard was set on peaceful student protestors, and American guardsmen fired on Americans, killing 4 and wounding 9. Too many folks today don’t know or remember what the Neil Young’s song “Ohio,” with its refrain “Four dead in Ohio” is about. That’s what the vile idiot threatening to send “thousands and thousands of heavily armed military” is setting in motion now. It’s chilling.

4The Republikkkans and Herr Donnei see the George Floyd incidents as both a prime “ReichstagFire” opportunity and a damned good diversion to their totally F’upped mishandling of the COVID19 pandemic. [I don’t think that the Floyd stuff is the right issue for D’s/libs/progressives to go with, but events are overtaking practicality]
They know that the November elections may be slipping away from them now.
Comrade tRump’s disgusting display of fake piety using a Bible and church as props [without knowledge or approval of the church clergy], after Boss Barr ordered the violent clearance of nearby peaceful protesters, is just a ploy to appear “dominant” to his core Talibangelical and MAGAot followers [who are still 40%+ of ‘Murikan voters ].
Herr tRump and the Republikkkans are not going to back down now. Be prepared for the worst, up to and including an all out attempt at para-military and military suppression of our democracy. And/or a full-on civil war.

5In all this chaos of national protest and deadly disease. A government attempting to turn citizens into enemies of the state. The Democratic process popped up from god knows where. Primary elections in seven states and the District of Columbia.
Of note:
– Limited voting locations were issues in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
– Sanity: Larry Krasner, the Philadelphia district attorney held back LE so no one faced arrest for going to vote in violation of the curfew.
– Complaints about poll workers and some ballots not mailed probably because of lack of same.
– More Sanity: Washington DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser announced a 7pm curfew for Tuesday, but polls will be open until 8pm.
In addition to Washington DC and Pennsylvania, Tuesday is primary day in Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Montana, New Mexico, Rhode Island and South Dakota.

Texas expat, the mention of that song sent chills down my
spine, and brought haunting memories of being a college student and seeing the video of the shootings. Then, the demonstrations were about Vietnam and our brothers and friends coming home in body bags. Now, Trump’s inciting actions that will result in more loved ones in body bags.
Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.
