Uh, Wrong Team, Dude.

June 07, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Georgia Republican Congressvarmint Drew Ferguson wants you to know that he’s a Yankee Doodle Dandy pure patriotic American type guy, so he did a tweet on Memorial Day.

That’s real nice except that Harry Truman wasn’t president on June 6, 1944, and those are Nazi troops.

Other than that, I think Ole Drew is a real Patriot and a damn genius.

Thanks to Deb T for the heads up.

  1. Every day a Republican manages to find a new level of STOOPID.
These idiots not only do not stop digging when they find themselves in a hole, they break out the power equipment.

  2. in his defense – the guys in his photo did have cool helmets

  3. RepubAnon says:

Either he’s got staffers that are too young to remember the switch from “Pot” helmets to “Fritz” helmets, or it was a freudian slip… you decide.

  4. Jane & PKM says:

St00pid, but unwittingly honest. The snacilbupeR are on the opposite/wrong team against humanity.

There’s a saying in Texas; “That boy’s bread ain’t quite done.”

And did we quit when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? NO!

  7. Sergeant Schulz would say “I know NOTHING!”

  8. From their hobnailed boots to the Wehrmacht black-white-red imperial tricolor insignia on their stahlhelms, and the balkenkreuz on the Panzer, they sure are 100% 1943-era Deutsche Heer soldats.

WTG, you effen treasonous Nazi traitors.

  9. Correction:
WTG, you GOP-Republican effen treasonous Nazi traitors.

  10. TrulyTexan says:

Remember these are the same people that think Springsteens “Born in the USA” is a patriotic song.
It probably wasn’t a mistake, I’m sure he knew it was a picture of Nazi’s and the sentiment was sincere.

  11. Ol’ Drew is nine years younger than I am, which suggests that Georgia schools nine years behind mine in Pennsylvania were a dang sight lousier. I knew perfectly well who was president in 1944 and what Nazi helmets look like by the time I left the sixth grade, if not sooner.

    11
  12. You can’t be certain it’s a mistake when a Republican puts up a photo of Nazis with the caption, Honoring Our Heroes.

This on the heels of Dump’s War of 1812 faux pas, is so telling about these Republican ignoramuses. Pardon the redundancy.

  14. Old Fart says:

    OK.

Just as a guideline for pictures: If the helmets have a flare going around the rear of the helmet, *and it’s shiny* (metal), it’s most likely a picture of Nazi soldiers. If they are wearing the above style helmet and the backpacks don’t look like the soldiers are carrying a small refrigerator on their backs, but rather a day pack with “stuff”, they are likely Nazi soldiers…

  15. Also, that Truman quote is praising the heroism of the armed forces of the nations that fought by our side (unless I’m reading it wrong).

Drew Ferguson screwed up all the way around.

    15
  16. What is it with the R’s and their screaming lack of knowledge of history, especially ours? this isn’t the first time that one of the R’s has screwed up this way! Damn! They are dumb!

  17. Linda Phipps says:

This falls into the Pantheon of other Republican gaffes, like the 16,000 sightseers in their boats having a hurricane watch party, and also the inflated crowd photos which were variously rock concerts, women’s marched.

  18. maryelle says:

Since the current fashion for Rethuglicans is not to read history,
perhaps they might benefit from watching some of the well-made movies about WWII:
The Longest Day, Patton, The Dirty Dozen, Dunkirk, Saving Private Ryan just to name a few. Perhaps other clients have some films to suggest?
