Amy Walter, the National Editor for the Cook Report, was on Colbert’s show last night and she said something that I have really taken to heart: In the past elections where the President is running for a second term, the results track almost exactly with his approval rating on Election Day. The Orange Moron is at about 43%. He is toast and he knows it.
He says he is cancelling his reelection party at his hotel in DC because, he claims, they will have to follow DC’s COVID-19 protocols, which limit the size of crowds that can gather. So, the “party”–more like funeral, if you ask me–will be at the White House. If you believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
I’m enjoying watching him flounder and panic. Too bad some of his followers are paying the price to attend his rallies. Of course, those folks are none too bright in the first place.
1I think, even as slow as the TX Medical Board is, they might even raise an objection to this. Doctors want patients alive – that’s how they make more money!

3Trumpf is in a deep state of panic. He’s proving he could kill someone and his followers wouldn’t care, because he has, many times over. Wonder if these people will ever wake from the alternate reality they have been living in. Hope a week from now they’ll be crying in their beer. And if they come down with covid from the rallies and their ignorance. they better hope someone cares. And I only care that they don’t infect people who don’t live in their alternate reality.
4Counting the hours.
I have really never understood this claim. Doctors get paid for the treatments they do, not what cause of death is listed on a death certificate. Why would anyone pay anything differently based on why someone died? This just doesn’t make any sense.

7Paul @ 3: obviously there is not much oxygen on the planet that Trump lives on. Since that’s what makes the sky blue here on earth, we have to conjecture. Probably it has lots of yellow from the brimstone, and red from the methane (from his junk food diet). I think some old illustrations of Hell have both the right color, atmosphere, and ambiance.

Jane & PKM, A trophy, that’s a brilliant idea! My dad had two ginormous bowling trophies for coming in last, or maybe next to last, in some KofC league. I remember my uncle saying it looked like he was bowling champ of the world. So how about delivering a big ol’ gold (color) trophy to 1600 engraved “Champ of the World”. He can pose with it and show it off to visiting dignitaries and brag about it at his covid rallies.
13Appalling. Lots of good and heartbreaking interviews by healthcare professionals on tv today. On Maddow, Joey, an ICU nurse in Billings, MT related how devastated he is to be losing patients. I worry for his mental health. Dr Stephen Sample, an emergency doctor in Jasper, Indiana, who also served as a military doctor in Iraq and Afghanistan, was scathing in his criticism of Drumpf for “doctors get paid” lie. He also said that “Dr Atlas should give up his MD”, that he’s a politician now. That was on 11th Hour with Brian Williams.
I’m feeling called to send a card to Joey and the other medical staff at that hospital. Have thought about doing this to other docs & nurses, but didn’t. Should have.

15Well, I kind of figure it works this way – tRump got the virus but he didn’t die from it cuz what’s coming with his name on it is a hundred times worse.
I wonder how all the medicos who saved his life feel about the mouth trash he is dishing out at them. They will probably stand on firm medical ground when they insist that he is insane.
