Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
Amazing, ain’t it? Our Founding Fathers and more recent patriots are not only spinning in their graves over Trump but dammit they are digging tunnels!
1Nice juxtaposition between Churchill & Trump.
I would only add that, Churchill was fighting AGAINST the white supremacists on the beaches, landing grounds and streets.
2Well, just to be fair, when Churchill said “We will fight them…” he really meant “All you men 30 years younger than me will fight them…”
3RobW, and now Donnie means all men and women 40 years younger and not related to him will do the fighting. The Twitter Warrior and his would faint, if they shed a drop of blood during a manicure.
4RobW, I don’t know about that. I do know that after France fell, the British were wary that an invasion plan was in the works. I think it was Edward R. Murrow who wrote about a English village on the Channel where he saw an old woman sharpening a knife against the stone step of her small house.
I remember my Dear One, (who was a paratrooper in WWII) telling me, “They (the Brits) were ready to fight–but most of them didn’t t own arms–even shotguns.”

Although this assertion is unprovable, I posit that there has never been enough German soldiers in the history of the universe to overcome the UK between 1939 and 1942. The same is true of Japan, 1945. Hence, the rationale for dropping all (both) of America’s atomic bombs on Imperial Japan. An invasion of the home islands would have taken years and incurred millions of casualties. And every human being the Aliies met – man, woman, chile – would have truly been an enemy combatant.
6Bull. The US had direct intel that Japan was going to surrender to America as soon as Russia entered the Pacific. Japan surrendered within two days of Russia’s announcement.
7RobW: And, unlike Trump, Churchill enlisted in the army. He fought on the front lines during WWI. Sure, he might not have if it hadn’t been for Gallipoli — but the fact is, he did.
Is there ANYTHING that could ever have gotten CJ onto a battlefield?
Um no — and he CERTAINLY would feel no remorse about sending young men to die — which was what propelled Churchill.
8Trump has said that screwing around and risking STDs was his version of going to Vietnam. I have no idea how anybody could say that without his own arm reaching down his throat and ripping his heart out in disgust.
Speaking of Vietnam, when anyone tries to bomb the enemy into submission, remind them how well that worked on Britain.
And there is some hope for humanity: it was the Brits in cities being bombed who were the *least* willing to want German cities bombed by the Allies. Most of them didn’t want other civilians, even Germans, to suffer as they were suffering. (In unscathed northern cities, a slight majority did.)
9Two crows, wasn’t young dashing Winston Churchill in uniform during the War in South Africa? I think that was when he pulled off a terrific escape.
