Trump and Trust Are Not Normally Two Words I’d Use In The Same Sentence

From ProPublica

Come to find out, on February 10th an addendum was added to the original trust, which was already as flimsy as a bride’s nightgown, that says …

Trump can draw money from his more than 400 businesses, at any time, without disclosing it.

The previously unreported changes to a trust document, signed on Feb. 10, stipulates that it “shall distribute net income or principal to Donald J. Trump at his request” or whenever his son and longtime attorney “deem appropriate.” That can include everything from profits to the underlying assets, such as the businesses themselves.

Holy damn crap.  I guess you can do any crazybutt thing you want when your approval rating is at 35%.  I mean, what do you have to lose?

Propublica put it online line by line.  Go have look-see for yourself.

  1. Jane & PKM says:

    “Trump and Trust …”

Yet, add a word: Fund. Trust fund is a phrase I’d not expect that we could separate from a Trump. Donnie was born a trust fund baby. Expect he’ll die a trust fund baby.

  2. maryelle says:

Thinking that Drumpf is not still controlling his businesses is sheer lunacy. Add this to the conflicts of interest which have not yet been addressed in the courts and we’re looking at serious issues ignored by congress yet again. Now that Trump has his cronies installed where it counts, there’s no hope of holding him to account.

  3. Tilphousia says:

As more things go pear shaped, trump can lose everything. Hit the spawn, they are unprotected by the rules governing money for trump. Hit and hit hard. Especially that little turd Kushner who wants to show ” how wonderful making America a company and all you Americans our customers” is going to be. Remove Bannon and Kushner at once and the house of cards begins to fall.

  4. I’ve read in article written by someone who worked very closely with Most Favored SIL. She well-describes how lousy he is at business, probably why Orange Whore loves him so much. One ignorant, greedy, unskilled trust fund baby and another. SIL thinks he’s really good too.

I’ve seen the story a couple places, Wapo being one and an online source for the other. Unfortunately I don’t have a link to it, but it’s floating about out there in the ethernet somewhere.

  5. “Trump and Trust …”

oh, I don’t know about that: “You can trust Strump to fuck over anyone who he perceives as it being of benefit to him to do so.”

there’s always an exception to every rule.

  6. Hate to defend anything he does, but the ability to pull funds out of the trust is not a problem in my mind. The problem is the trust does not make the the settler blind to the assets in it and allows him to take action to benefit himself.
Suppose the trust were truly blind, and he knew he could withdraw millions of dollars at any time, but had no idea what assets were in the trust or would be sold to raise the funds. That would address the conflicts problem. (The trust is not blind and does not address the conflicts.).
We need to reserve our anger for things which do harm to the world, our country, people and the rule of law. There is plenty to choose from and push back against. He is a fool and dragging the country and the world down, we need to be vigilant about pointing out those actions and ignoring the splashy news items that draw attention, but are side issues or non-issues.

  7. I disagree. It’s all part of the steady drip drip, and each revelation hits a different part of his base, and further reveals a new aspect of his venality/crookedyness.
