Its pretty clear that the republican campaign sorts know all about the infrastructure behind spam calling. After a month or so of a lull in spam calls, on Thursday my phone exploded. By 3 PM I had received 14 of them.
The return of Rachel from card services, car warranty expiring, the claim that some hotel chain was going to give me a free trip, etc. On one of the trip spams, I told the guy “No more republican gravy train, so back to the usual grift eh” His response had the sort of chuckle to it that I took as “guilty”.
1“Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!” as Gomer always said.
2I also got a touch of what Jeff experienced. I have a red-out window o my phone. It pretty Much tells me who is calling. Found out that if you don’t answer, they don’t leave any messages. That is always the “tell” for sucker calls.
3My favorites are the calls in Spanish. They then ask if I speak Spanish. They always seem so dejected when they find out I don’t. I got a letter from the Texas Secretary of State in Spanish once. I guess I should be flattered that they think I’m bilingual.
4Wow, I wonder if I got any of those (probably not, no one calls CT). I’d never know because as a professed phone-phobe (genetic, got it from my dad whose fingers “didn’t fit in the dial holes”) I never pick up unless it’s someone I want to talk to (spouse or kids). If it’s important they can leave a message.
5I also don’t answer 90%+ of the calls though I do sometimes answer in my iPhone so that I can annoy the caller right back, then block the number.
6And sure, the Trumpf campaign didn’t know about the calls. No one believes that. Regardless, there’s plenty of Trumpf people calling for people to do just what the robo calls were saying.

8Don’t worry about he GOP calls and text. The party will become real quiet next year when they start gerrymandering in earnest!
9Trumpf campaign has announced he will go back to holding rallies to yell out his charges of a stolen election and voter fraud. Talking about incendiary. His campaign is broke, so that means he’s going to try and use tax payer money to fly around plus all the usual expenses. Can’t believe that’s legal now that the election is over.
10That’s his coronavirus-fighting plan for the next 72 days.
