The Tables Turn

March 16, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Come to find out, Mexico is taking about closing the border with the United States.  They don’t want Coronavirus from the United States.

Mexican Deputy Health Minister Hugo Lopez-Gatell said contagion from the United States was a threat.

“If it were technically necessary to consider mechanisms of restriction or stronger surveillance we would have to take into account not that Mexico would bring the virus to the United States, rather that the United States could bring it here,” he told a news conference.”

They are particularly worried about Tijuana.  They are afraid that Mexican workers will come back infected.

So I guess the tables have turned on Trump’s disgusting descriptions of the citizens of Mexico.  Trump wants a wall to lock all of us in.

  1. Wish he had thrown in a comment to the effect of “since the American president obviously does not know how to get this under control, we have no choice but to protect ourselves against this level of incompetence”.

  2. Trump builds an invisible wall with Mexico, almost entirely with incompetence. We paid for it, and we’re really going to pay for it in the coming weeks.

Rexxon Drillerson allegedly said this pResident* is a ***king moron*. Now the world is confirming that IQ4.5* is a ***king moron* with Mexico closing its border and Norway recommending that their exchange students return to their civilized country where health care is available.

Just when we thought Donnie’s* response to COVID-19 couldn’t be more moronic than naming Mikey Dense as communications discombobulator enter Jughead Kushner into the fray. Oh yeah. Those two morons should quickly clear up any confusion created by the ***king moron’s* tweets.

  4. Norway University Calls On Students to Return Home From Countries With ‘Poorly Developed Health Systems’—Such as the US

As the coronavirus pandemic lays bare a number of major weaknesses in the U.S. medical system, one university in Norway went as far on Sunday as to specifically advise all students studying abroad to come home in order to avoid having to rely on American healthcare if they become ill.

The Norway University of Science and Technology (NTNU) posted an advisory on its official Facebook page Sunday warning that students staying in “a country with poorly developed health services and infrastructure and/or collective infrastructure” should return home as soon as possible.
“For example, the U.S.A.,” school authorities wrote.

Canada just closed its borders to non-citizens, except Americans (for now). It’s a poorly-kept secret that thousands of Americans get fake ID and go to Canada for medical care every year (Sarah Palin even boasted about it). I wonder how long the border will stay open to us.

Warm up your TVs. In Texass, Gov Abbott is in San Antonio today and will be giving a big PR session at 2PM CDT.
This will be followed by the Mango Mussolini and the Silver Suckbutt with yet another COVID & economy pep talk.
Given the results of the last few of these things, we may not survive it.
    .
The Asian and Euro markets, all the global ones, took a huge hit in today’s trading.
US markets have been in freefall since opening.

The DJIA was off as much as ~2400pts, is down 2250, 10%, right now at 20,935. That 15,000 Dow I predicted isn’t much further down from here.
Crude is cratered to $28.80/bbl, -9%. Even gold is off ~2%, under $1500/oz.

The only good from all this disaster will hopefully be the elimination of the TrumpGOP Party from all levels of government in November.

    Holy crap!
The SA TV channel 12 is sticking with Abbott, etc., but has the start of the tRump PR crapfest in a box.

That box shows the DJI numbers, those numbers began falling [from already frreefall] when Trump started talking.
DJIA is down nearly 2700 points, ~12%, now at ~20,500, and still falling!
    -3000+ here we come…

  9. Sandridge says:

DJIA now near -2800pts and falling…
Keep talking Comrade Donnei, a fantastic job!
    Can we hit -4000?

    Is Donnei seeing the ‘ticker’?

  10. Talk about tables turning. F**king trump has treated Germany, like all our allies, like crap since day one. I could almost imagine the German company perfecting the vaccine, and then selling to everyone. Worldwide. Except us. Who could blame them?
slipstream: You left out Alabama and Idaho.
    They’ve got it too.

  11. Sandridge says:

[to DiJiT] How do you rate your performance?
    “I’d rate it a TEN”

DJIA is well past -3000 with this… keep yapping, can we hit -4000 by close?

  12. Last time our border to Canada was closed was 9/11.
My daughter and friend had just started at McGill.

We are now the country that other countries are afraid of.
    Thanks, Trump

The economy is getting hammered even worse than most realize [as I predicted weeks ago].
All indicators and prices are taking an increasing beating, and it’s just begun.

Very shortly employment indicators are going to go off a cliff.

The oil biz is heading for a worse disaster than the mid-1980’s meltdown. [rumorhazit oil is heading for $8-20/bbl range]

Don’t know if y’all remember the effects that depression had in Texas [and elsewhere], but it devastated much more than oil and gas-related sectors.
Real estate and retail in TX were particularly hit hard. RE prices in most Texas markets came down more than 50% in a year or so. Houston was worse, whole ‘under-construction’ subdivisions and apartment complexes were just abandoned by their developers.
It was incredible to see, as I traveled around to different areas in my job [I was keeping track of home prices as we were looking to buy, and did].
We saw the ‘new’ big shopping mall in Harlingen, TX open up well before Xmas, and it remained almost empty of shoppers the whole season. You just didn’t ever see a new mall open like that, without being jam-packed [it’s different now, post online shopping].

Dotard 10/10 has (essentially) accomplished an erasure of all the advances in the DJIA since he came into office. And Varney may have stated we’re already in recession.^

Well those text books of mistakes bad Presidents make don’t write themselves, you know…

^ And our world is starting a pandemic with an Oil Market melt down on the side.

  17. maryelle says:

The pattern of Republicans ruining the economy then leaving it for Democrats to clean up the mess, similar to what they did in 2008, makes my blood boil. It’s even worse now, with so many facing death due to our Horse’s Ass-in-Chief bumbling and stumbling his incompetent way causing chaos and havoc worldwide.

    17
  18. Sandridge says:

Another prediction [based on actual previous events*]:
The real estate sector likely to be hardest hit in the coming Trumpression will be high end 2nd homes, like in vacation areas. Not that everything else won’t take some major hits.

[* Based on my own mid-80’s Texas observations. For example, beach houses and condos on South Padre Island, TX had risen from $60-120K in the late ’70s-early ’80s, to $180-250K+ by ’84-85 when the oil bust happened/peaked. By ’86 on into ’90-91, those same properties were going begging for $50-100K.
    .

Don’t want to be carping on these ongoing disasters. But if this were happening with a Democratic presidency and Congress, every Rethuglikan would be yowling about it 24/7.

The Democrats have got to at least point to and tie the Rethug regime to this pandemic and economic meltdown –every damn day–.
Most all of these disasters have direct connections to harmful Rethug policies.

And –nobody– is even talking about the increasing crisis of Climate Change-Global heating, which will ultimately be far worse than the current ones.
