The Proof Is In The … Uh, Twitter

Okay, read this.  It is English and has not been translated from any other language, meaning you should take it at face value.

Yeah, I had to read it twice, too. Then I spurted coffee on the table.

Thank you, Mike Pompeo, for making my day.

Thank you mike pomp(ous)eo ass for repeating the truth from The NY Times. Yea, you were the worst secry of state for the worst potus of all time. Glad you woke up to that.

  2. Jane & PKM says:

Yeah. Mike the worst. Rexxon Drillerson decimated much of the experienced personnel at State, but he at least gave us the best epitaph evuh for Donnie: “he’s a ***king moron.”

Cancel you, Mike? No. But many of us would certainly enjoy seeing you and every crook in that crook’s maladministration stripped by the RICO Act and sent to prison.

  3. Including a reference to “I Won’t Back Down” by Tom Petty is commendable, but I don’t recall “Resistance To The Woke Cancel Culture Is Worthy.”

Was it from Wayne’s World? We are not worthy, but resistance to the woke cancel culture is worthy?

  4. Yeah, my initial reaction was, “Huh?”

OY: TX GOP Removes Controversial Election Provisions Ahead Of Special Session
    Jul 7, 2021

Edit: Texas GOP revealed an updated voting bill that removed provisions on overturning elections and limits to Sunday voting hours to be debated during special session. Texas State Rep. Gina Hinojosa called it a “victory” for Democrats in getting the “sharp edges” removed, but says it’s still a bad bill that Democrats are committed to fighting against. Rep. Colin Allred adds that Congress has to act at the federal level to “provide some relief to make sure our democracy is protected.”

Republicans fight with Hasbro over a potato.

Republicans fight with the Seuss estate over decisions they made. They blame the liberals for those decisions.

They tell teachers what they may and may not teach.

They tell the American people who may and may not vote and explain that they will overturn any election they don’t like the outcome of.

They brag that they will make absolutely certain that Biden gets nothing done. Then, when he DOES do something, they run home and brag about all the good “they” did — even though they voted against it.

Then they claim liberals are trying to cancel them.

    Oh. Okay then.

Biden just fired Trump’s Social Security commissioner — but he says he’s refusing to leave: report July 09, 2021

Edit: President Joe Biden on Friday fired the head of the Social Security Administration. Andrew Saul, a Trump-appointee and wealthy anti-union GOP donor who is accused of working to delay millions of Americans’ stimulus checks, is refusing to leave.

“I consider myself the term-protected Commissioner of Social Security,” Saul said, dramatically calling his termination a “Friday Night Massacre.”
The Washington Post reports “he plans to be back at work on Monday morning, signing in remotely from his New York home.”Saul claims he had no advance warning, despite calls from Democrats demanding his firing. It was a bolt of lightning no one expected. And right now it’s left the agency in complete turmoil.”

Lousy product + free market = cancelled. It’s simple, really. So Republicans won’t be figuring this out any time soon, then?

Re #7: “Better Call Saul” Mr. Saul! You are trespassing if you interact in that Social Security Administration Monday. Digital or physical handcuffs await.

Saul, Pompeo et al. are just more examples of the irony and absurdity of people who do not believe in government making a career in government.

    10
  11. The Surly Professor says:

Megasoid @7: as someone in a techno-adjacent field, I can almost guarantee that Saul will find he is unable to sign in or access any SSA systems on Monday morning. You can bet that (a) jerks like him are hated and despised by the computer systems staff, and (b) they will gladly spend Sunday terminating all his government computer accounts.

Even if their department is still headed by some left-over T**** drone, the folks who actually run the computers are even now arguing about which of them gets the pleasure of deleting Saul’s accounts.

Hey andy Saul, Biden woke up Friday and cancelled you. Goodbye

Edit: Protesters filled the Texas State House on Saturday for a hastily organized special session to debate Gov. Greg Abbott’s restrictive “election integrity” measures.
Edit: Experts say that unnecessary election security measures like the ones being proposed in Texas actually do nothing to make elections more secure and disproportionately disenfranchise people of color. Large numbers of opponents showed up on Saturday to officially register their objection to the GOP initiative, including former Rep. Beto O’Rourke.
