The First Day of the Rest of His Life

March 30, 2023 By: El Jefe Category: Corruption, Trump

NBC News and the NYTimes are reporting that it has been confirmed that TFG was indicted today in NY related to the bribe paid to the porn star Stormy Daniels to buy her silence during the 2016 election.  The first of what will likely be multiple felony indictments in Georgia and DC, TFG’s life is now forever changed; he’s now facing years of trying to stay (or get) out of jail for multiple serious federal and state laws.  It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

This story is breaking.

  5. Oh Happy Days!!!!!

Watch how the MSM reports and spins this in tRumps favor.

Though honest reporting would frame this as,

‘You really have to screw up and be a serious criminal to be a TWICE IMPEACHED FORMER president and get a criminal indictment.’
‘How sick and deranged can a TWICE IMPEACHED FORMER president be to get a criminal indictment?’
‘What could a FORMER TWICE IMPEACHED president possibly have done to get a criminal indictment? How did he brake the law? Let us count the ways.’

It will be a cherry on top if/when he is held accountable criminally for the most egregious of his many felonies – inciting the Jan 6 insurrection. Then, indict the rest of his coconspirators and lock them all up.

  9. And then there’s this — DeSantis: Florida won’t cooperate with Trump extradition.
I never thought this day would come, but he’s not in jail yet or otherwise barred from doing business in NYC.

  10. Suzanne Melton says:

Ron DeSantis waited until the media was fully consumed with Trump’s indictment to make a move to repeal Florida’s ResignToRun law, which prevents current public officials from seeking other offices while serving in their current office.

Of course the emperor and chief censor of floriduh is going to try and get some mileage out of this.

  13. The air immediately got a tad better around here, so close to Capitol Hill! Besides the glee of the living, I am certain there are various members of my family and friends in the afterlife who are also delighted with this outcome. Can’t wait for South Carolina to jump in! After all, they have a recording of his damn infamy! I’ve heard it time and time again. It is not a fake! That is definitely his voice and his way of speaking. And Mar A Lago! There is an employee there who has already spilled his guts! And best of all, the film of him encouraging mass murder and mayhem on Jan 6. My bet is that all those who kissed his anatomy are going down, too. None of them should all be jailed in the same spot along with The Indicted One. That would be bad cess! Where should Trump be jailed? I’m betting on Gitmo! The farther away from his cohorts and this battered countrty the better!

Suzanne Melton @ 10: as I recall, Senator Lyndon (Landslide) Johnson similarly got Texas law changed to allow him to not just run for another office, but to run for US Senate and VP of the US at the same time. He did not have much faith in the ability of Kennedy to defeat Nixon and wanted to still have a job in case they lost.

Of course Texas governor John Connally backed him in this. Yet another reason I (and apparently JJ Herownself) despised him.
