The Assault on Ocasio-Cortez
Mouthbreathers who can type have been going nuts that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was actually elected to Congress that they’ve frantically been trying to denigrate and discredit her in a dishonest mis-information campaign. First it was being outraged that she wore a designer outfit for a fashion magazine shoot. Then they mocked her clothing after she was elected. Then it was the innocent dance video shot of her and friends back when she was an undergrad at Boston college. Now it’s this:
This photo, not of Ocasio-Cortez’s feet, was posted by Tucker Carlson’s manure merchant, Daily Caller, with the headline, “Here’s the Photo Some People Described as a Nude Selfie of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.” That’s right, Tucker Carlson’s propaganda machine actually posted a photo of some woman’s feet in a bathtub, with the “some people” claim for the single goal of smearing a member of Congress because they don’t like her politics.
What’s disgusting is that these smears speed around the internet without the slightest concern for accuracy or common decency. What’s really offensive? The above photo or a college video is “shocking” and “inappropriate”, but the photo below is Okey-Dokey.
The noise machine has zero interest in accuracy, honesty, or common decency. It’s all about winning, facts be damned. At the same time the blindness with which these same people treat the Trumps is jaw dropping.
Yup.

Reminds me of my sainted father, when he occasionally philosophized to his astounded children and later, grandchildren, by saying, “A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth can get its boots on.” And all that was well before the internet world wide thingy. According to a source I read looking for the earliest source of this pithy thought, Jonathan Swift first penned it around 1710. The whole of the quote is worth a read, IMHO, to wit:

5Cannot waste a single brain cell over Tucker. The photo of feet could be anybody. The slurs the RWNJs are throwing in Alexandria’s direction show how little they have in life despite their resources. Go, Alexandria!
6I’ve never understood what the big deal was about her college video; just a bunch of young adults dancing and having fun. Horrors! Unless you have serious issues with kids having fun; that is something I cannot imagine of most of the few Republicans I know.
7AOC is on it. In one of those bizarre Fox ‘business’ moments they dredged up Joe Lieberman to ask him his thoughts about the “new” Democratic Party.

8maggie, fear not for AOC, she’s fearless. Better yet the Cons are afraid of her. Similar to the two white males, who remembers their names now?, who attacked NDP during her speakership “run”. Both NDP and AOC can raise the cash and shut up their detractors in both parties, dance backward in heels and write good policy legislation, and both are quick with the quip. Ask Donnie.
As for the really sub-prime photoshop bath/foot thing some relative unknown emerged to apologize to AOC, claim the feet and a whiff at the proverbial 10 seconds of no fame. There’s a backstory non-story there; other than that, confirmation the wingnuts are desperate.

10The background research by the Daily Caller, “some people,” reminds of of the kind of things I used to hear while waiting in line at Blockbuster:
“Do you have that video, you know, with that one guy, and he’s a half wuff?”

As for AOC’s designer clothing, the NYT article said the clothes were donated by the designer. Also too, have the fools never heard of consignment shops and thrift stores? Women of my income bracket do it all the time.
13Glad to see that AOC’s supporters recognize who the opposition is and refuses to be scared off by the idea that things can NOT change no matter how politically dishonest cuellar is.
Glad they are not taking advice from defeatists who defend the myth of his invulnerability.

14She is also being chided for not getting with the program in the House. If that’s what she was there for, her opponent wouldn’t have lost his seat.
15My mother had info to “consignement, outlet stores” in NYC where quite a few costumers of her beauty shop shopped smart. Same clothes probably same taylor shop and different buttons.
