Thank You So Much, Donald Trump

August 20, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Two brothers, leaving the Red Sox game, encounter a homeless Latino man asleep near the subway.

They urinated in his face and then beat him, at least once with a metal pole.  They laughed as they walked away.  Witnesses called the police and when the men were arrested they had a good explanation.

Scott Leader, 38, told investigators that he thought it was acceptable to assault homeless people who were Hispanic.

“Donald Trump was right, all these illegals need to be deported,” Scott Leader said, according to the police report.

I suspect that wasn’t the right thing to say because they were charged with “assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery to intimidate with bodily injury, open and gross lewdness, indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and threatening to commit a crime.” One of the brother faced additional charges for destruction of property after police said that he punched and kicked a cell door.

When asked about this incident, Donald Trump also had an explanation.

Trump called the assault a “shame.”

“I will say that people who are following me are very passionate,” he remarked. “They love this country and they want this country to be great again. They are passionate.”

Trump just stopped being amusing.

Trump is a crass jerk who would never be accepted in true polite society. Hey, Donald–money does not “trump” manners.

Most of those GOP candidates incite violence when they speak. Can we not charge them????

  4. Those two viciously stupid lumps from Southie are probably the best and the brightest of The Donald’s support.

  5. Trump is a species. I’m adding a variety: POS.

    TrumpPOS.

  6. Just what we need more of: passionate brutal racists.

  7. Donald Trump is a genius. He has done the nearly-impossible. He has given being fabulously wealthy a bad name.

  8. Hollyanna says:

Trump is a joke, but not of the funny ha-ha variety. A conscienceless, classless, over-privileged slob, he is the exemplar of all that is wrong with the GOP.

  10. Since Trump has so much insecurity, it does not surprise me in the least this was his response. Alternative response could have been to attack anyone questioning his message.

If he had any other response he would sound like he might be apologizing or owning his influence on their bad behavior. Since he cannot handle being accused of wrong behavior, he reacted within that same framework.

My mind basically goes plooey when I try to see him as POTUS dealing with daily criticism from media or other sources. In the movie, American President (and other films), we see that POTUS must have a thick skin for attacks and criticism. He doesn’t.

Of course my mind routinely tilts like a pinball machine when I remotely ponder him as actual POTUS.

    10
  11. IMO, Trump-POS wasn’t funny to begin with. I’m just sick and tired of so much of the political light and oxygen is being wasted on him by the cable news networks. And of course since this is all being paid for by OPM, he’ll gladly suck up all he’s given. I’d just as soon be go away. And most likely he will when attention dies down. But of course in the mean time, he’ll draw all of the free attention that he can get.

  12. This is the real fallout from the republican agenda of fear, ignorance and bigotry. The poor, minorities and women will suffer for it.

Patriotic passion made Newt cheat on his wife. Now patriotic passion makes people beat up homeless men. I’m glad I’m not a passionate patriot.

Times are scary for middle America – fewer good-paying jobs every day, everything’s getting scarcer, elevators for some, the shaft for the rest of us. In this environment, loudmouthed demagogues blaming everything on “those others” thrive.

The really scary thing is that The Donald and Ted Cruz are campaigning together. Imagine Ted Cruz as the moderate… Worse, imagine President Trump and Vice President Ted Cruz.

    17
  18. I wish we could deport the Leader brothers, but I can’t think of a country that would take them. Perhaps they’d do well in a career with ISIS.

    18
  19. Well,

Won’t their time in jail be special…

    19
  20. Trump should be arrested and charged with depraved indifference to human life. For starters.

  21. Prup (aka Jim Benton) says:

Then you have the Iowa spittle=thrower Jan Mickelson, who wants to give immigrants two months and then, if they don’t leave, they become ‘property of the state.”

Yes, as in slavery, but, as he says “what’s wrong with that. They volunteer by not leaving when given a chance.”

And Mickleson is, apparently, someone who has to have his ring kissed by any Republican running in Iowa.

  22. This story has finally popped up on places like CNN website! I damn well hope it gets air time at the next “debate”.

    22
  23. Back again. I vaguely remember language like “incitement to riot” which can get you jail time. Free speech amendment and all, isn’t Trump inciting violence? Need to hear from a lawyer about this. Any takers?

    23
  24. In all the uproar over Cecil and the hated dentist no one mentions that a couple of months ago the Trumplet boys posted a photo of themselves on their big game trophy hunt. No one in this family is worth more than warm spit. They have acquired a bit of polish in the third generation but it doesn’t change any of them. I almost hope that The Donald gets the nomination if only to drive home to any sane Republicans how they have destroyed not only their own brand but the world. Can you just imagine Trump at any function with his 3rd or 4th or whatever trophy wife? Love me some GOP family values. Marlene

  25. Prup (aka Jim Benton) says:

Not a lawyer but a ‘law junkie’ for most of my life, particularly on Bill of Rights matters. (And someone old enough to have seen and heard the McCarthy hearings — I was too young to really follow them at the time, but spent much of my next decade trying to understand what I’d seen. Which is why I am VERY careful not to toss terms like ‘inciting violence’ around.)

The rule is pretty simple and solid. Expressing a ‘philosophical belief’ — no matter how vile and bloody — is (AND SHOULD BE) “protected speech.” If I say any group ‘should be killed’ whether it is ‘capitalists,’ “Republican candidates,” “Iowa shock jocks,” “visitors to Juanita Jean’s” or “Texas Ranger fans” — that’s legally ‘protected speech.’

(I’m not sure if the same rule applies to a specific person, rather than a group.)

There ARE civil penalties that can be used, — thank you SPLC — but not criminal penalties. They would only come into play if the exact words could be taken as an ‘instruction’ for the hearers to take specific actions.

And if you understand the fights of the 50s, you’d understand why keeping that line is so important.

  27. Treehugger says:

I have never found Trump to be entertaining. I consider him a sociopath who cares about no one but himself. The possibility that he could actually be elected POTUS makes me want to go live in a cave. His in-your-face talk gives a lot of people like these 2 an excuse to let loose their suppressed bigotry and hatred. These are people who don’t need much encouragement to act like thugs. Trump is dangerous and evil. It is beyond comprehension that Trump did not decry their actions.

  30. This as a hate crime, so who generated the idea that hating immigrants was acceptable? Trump and the rest of the republicans. They share responsibility for this and many other attacks, both verbal and physical.

  33. Ellen Childress says:

Trump is not funny. And he is pandering to a “passionate” mob all right, a large number of which are old people who are terrified that “illegals ” are going to get something that the old people think they should have. I am old and I am not sure why they are so afraid. If you ask me, I am far more afraid of Trump and his 17 partners in crime who are running for president. I want to keep my social security and Medicare. I haven’t a clue what to do about ISIS and I don’t think anyone else has a clue either. I am going to get my Bernie t-shirt this week !
