Just where the heck would they send them? At this point I think most of the world would rather deal with ISIS than Trumpites.

Donnie speaks to the “trap, spay or neuter and release” issue as regards the snacilbupeR. In the words of a wise fictional character: “you first Ke-mo sah-bee.”

Donnie’s next outreach, the First Nations who will surely eagerly embrace him. And, generously bestow upon him honorary title of Little Tool.

Maybe “extreme vetting” should include a test which includes history and civics questions and if one passes it, they earn the right to vote. I had to study to become an American citizen and I can assure you that very few Americans could pass the citizenship test, particularly those who support Trump! I realize this sounds extreme, but it is far more honest than allowing people to vote based on their color or their family origin aiming for an all white voter base. At least we would have an educated electorate.

  4. I’m old but I do kind of recall that Hitler did something like this with various people who supported him, like the purge of the SS. And then there was Stalin . . . I can only opine that this is a characteristic of such besotted types.

  5. One of my fav lines from the fictional Doctor Who, is appropriate here..
“And when this war is over, when you have a homeland free from humans, what do you think it’s going to be like? Do you know? have you thought about it? have you given it any consideration? Because you’re very close to getting what you want. What’s it gonna be like? Paint me a picture. Are you gonna live in houses? Do you want people to go to work? Will there be holidays? Oh! Will there be music? Do you think people will be allowed to play violins? Who’s gonna make the violins? Well? Oh, you don’t actually know, do you? Because, like every other tantruming child in history, Bonnie, you don’t actually know what you want. So let me ask you a question about this brave new world of yours. When you’ve killed all the bad guys, and when it’s all perfect and just and fair. When you have finally got it exactly the way you want it, what are you gonna do with the people like you? The troublemakers. How’re you going to protect your glorious revolution from the next one?”

  6. Can’t we get this done without electing Drumpf?
I hear Guantanamo is lovely this time of year.

  7. The people who lead the revolution usually end up being the cause of the next one.

1smartamerican, I’ve taken a couple of citizenship tests posted online and done quite well, but when I was in school they still taught Civics. I don’t think they do now, and it shows.

I won’t shut up about wanting a basic knowledge test before voting, to see if people are paying attention. List five of Trump’s more obvious lies (updated from Dubya’s) and if you think they’re true you’re not allowed to vote.

Rhea, I believe you are correct when you say that Civics is no longer being taught to our kids. It seems to me this should be a required course.

  9. We teach Government and Economics. Most of us try to impart as much as we can. My unit on the Bill of Rights was awesome. I just hope it took.

  10. I’ll admit, I took a sample citizenship test online once and just barely passed.

Of course, that was a British citizenship test. I did better on the one for the USA.

  11. All of my kids had a full year of Civics in 8th grade, and they are required to take a Government (US or Comparative) class senior year in high school. This is a public school district in PA.

So this stuff is being taught, at least in some districts. I don’t know how much sticks, but I thought they did a good job with my kids.

  12. I used to teach Civics and government in public schools and I’ve got it down fairly pat. I’m all in favor of a poll test, but . . . no civics classes can be taught for money. They Must be free. Otherwise Scumpf and minions would figure out a way to “monetize/scam” it.
