I just watched a breathtaking exchange on Meet the Press Daily where Mike Rounds, conservative Republican Senator from South Dakota cried uncle to Trump’s trade war.  He said that farmers and ranchers in his state are getting killed by backing out of the TPP and the escalating trade war with China and (former) friends of the US.  US Soybean prices have plummeted and Russia has stepped into US farmers’ shoes exporting to China.  That’s right, kids…the winner so far of the trade war with China is RUSSIA.  What a coinkydink! Oh, BTW, we’ve designed a new MAGA hat for South Dakota farmers:

Anyway, I digress.  Rounds roundly (no pun intended) condemned Trump’s trade war, saying his constituents are loudly complaining.  Is this finally a crack in Trump’s wall?  Are the GOP invertebrates in congress finally growing spines?  We’re a long way from that, but at least we know that Repubs are not all in a coma.

We all knew this kind of nonsense was happening behind the scenes at the WH, but now stories are now coming out from multiple anonymous sources.  Last August Trump pushed staff and South American leaders TO INVADE Venezuela and take it over. Trump ignored McMaster and all of his national security team’s advice and raised his plan to leaders of surrounding countries, who thankfully unanimously rejected his looney idea.

While we’re all being shocked on an hourly basis what he’s Tweeting out, this lunatic is a true menace to global stability.

There is a place for anger, and THIS is it.

In typical fashion to burnish his reputation for gleeful cruelty and dickishness, Trump refused to order the lowering of the US flag on federal buildings to honor the 5 journalists murdered by a lone nut last week.  The request had been made by the Mayor of Annapolis, the governor of Maryland, and the Maryland congressional delegation.  After Trump’s predictable response, the uproar was loud, and getting louder; he finally capitulated this morning.

Jesus, I’m tired.  I’m all out of dickishness patience.

There is a place for anger, and THIS is it.

In a wide ranging interview where a number of subjects lies were covered, Trump issued a veiled threat to those of us who disagree with him.  Calling his opponents “dangerous for our country”, Trump said that those criticizing him and his staff “…better take it easy”.  He said that his base is different than any other president (that’s an understatement), implying that his supporters will resort to violence to defend him.  It was just another ugly moment in an entire era of ugliness.

On a side note, I have not seen Maria Bartiromo since she left CNBC.  I never thought to much of her business reporting, but I must say that her pandering to the worst president in US history was nothing short of vomit inducing.  Jesus, what a disgusting display.

In a Commerce Department filing, General Motors said that if the new Trump tariffs take effect, the company will have to scale back operations and cut US jobs to survive. Whatever idiot is filling Trump’s orange head full of tariff bullshit needs to be run out of DC.  I’m not sure how much more “winning” we can stand.
