  1. I wish someone had been around to point out this obvious fact to Bill Maher when he was popping off over this on the topic of setting harmful precedent.

His reason for not pursuing Trump crimes is that the Republicans will then do the same thing to any Democrat.

The right thing to do is not always easy.

  2. I can’t watch Bill Maher anymore. He used to be funny but he’s gotten meaner as he aged. I don’t find him amusing anymore.

Ms. JJ, I love this too…

  3. Charly Hoarse says:

This is no joke. After Bush vs Gore in 2000 there was Norm Coleman in Minnesota, and Scott Brown in Massachusetts. Now Texas has 21 sore loser election lawsuits pending, all from Trumpy sons-a-bitches who won’t play by the rules. We the People ought to soundly rebuke any candidate disrespecting our once-treasured democratic norms and practices.

Many people cannot admit when they’ve been wrong. Thus the Trumpers just get Trumpier.

  5. I don’t know if any of you read Stonekettle Station but Jim Wright has a barn burner for his latest entry. He helps keep me sane and often puts my own thoughts into clear and angry prose.

  6. JJ, where exactly can I get a print of the Georgia indictment? I have a printer loaded with plenty of paper! Thanks greatly!

  7. Steve from Beaverton says:

Let’s see, 91 felony counts for the orange moron across 4 indictments. Backing out 34 felony counts in the NY hush money/financial crimes indictment, that leaves 57 felonies for the months from election day thru the end of his term as potus. In my mind, they all could be called treason but for sure the 17 counts directly related to the insurrection and trying to overturn the election, they are treason. Guess prosecutors figured that was too harsh a term. It’s hard to fathom he could skate on all 17 counts, but he is the teflon don. Something from all 91 felony counts has to stick, so repugnanticans will likely nominate a convicted felon and if elected, we are a third world country.

  8. Nick Carraway says:

They still haven’t levied a sedition charge, but the fact that 19 people were charged is key. This unindicted coconspirator crap won’t cut it. More will abandon him faster when they find themselves in the legal crosshairs. As much as I doubt that he will ever see the inside of a jail cell, I don’t think his minions will have nearly the same luck. They are expendable.

  9. As unlikely as it sounds, Trump might not be fitted into a jail cell. Now, where else would a sociopath might end up? Hmmm. A padded cell?

  10. The Surly Professor says:

Maggie and AK Lynne: the NYT has posted an annotated version of the indictment. The URL is a mile long because it’s a “gift link”, and I won’t shorten it because I believe in letting folks know what they’re clicking on. It’s not as short and readable as Jack Smith’s love letters to T****, but unlike those, this one targets many more people with much more crime.
