See? Here’s Where I Get Mad.

I would like to discuss this tweet in a calm, logical, and rational manner …

… but I can’t. There is a limit to stupid, mean, and prevarication allowed under the Juanita Jean limits for what does not honor the right of free speech. Look, I know this is free speech but, Honey, it does nothing to honor that right.

First off, look who wrote it. Andy Biggs has no damn moral right to question the legality of anybody’s actions. The people in this picture did not seek a Presidential pardon, you withering little Arizona belch.

Second off, these people are coming to America for a better life and that’s the same reason my family came here. And in all honesty, some of my family did not behave as they should have. Four generations back one of my relatives broke about half the commandments in one day. He lusted after another man’s wife, shot him dead in a duel, and then announced he’d do it again except next time it wouldn’t be a duel, but an ambush. And that’s why we don’t talk about Uncle Melvin much. In his defense, it was awful hot that day.

Third off, you know, if Mexico would only help … whoa, wait never mind. Mexico just pledged $1.5 billion to help with border security and processing. I didn’t see Trump get a damn dime from Mexico.

Next off (hell, I’m losing count), it is perfectly apparent that current policy is working because these people were caught and are being immediately processed.

And … if this reporter can identify coyotes by just looking, he’s wasting his life working at FOX News in El Lay.

Last off, man’s first question to God was – am I my brother’s keeper? God answered. Jesus also answered in Luke 10:29-37. So Biggs, I’m talking to you. You better check the score. You’re not the priest, nor even the Levite. You’re the thieves.

And that’s as civil as I can be. In my defense, it’s awful hot today.

Be social and share!

The “withering little Arizona belch” (mind if I steal that?) is all over the place. He wants Congress to investigate the BS in D’Souza’s “documentary,” too. He was mentioned in Tuesday’s hearing. Maybe he’s dreaming of a DeSantis-Biggs ticket in 2024.

As the descendant of a Puritan jailed in Boston for swearing: bull$hit! I wish people would read and understand our immigration laws before blabbing to the ants in the GOP ant hill. Now all the little ants will run together to spread the lies. This s why it will be so hard to get MAGAheads to wake up!

  3. The Surly Professor says:

As a confirmed atheist, even I know the bible better than those dweebs. Here’s more tidbits dealing with “illegal aliens”:

Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow. Deuteronomy 27:19

The alien who resides with you shall be to you as the citizen among you; you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt … Leviticus 19:34

and for those who claim “that’s the old testament, it’s been overruled by the New Jesus” :

I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. Matthew 25:35

Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers. Romans 12:13

And since Brother Surly is on a roll, let’s have the most apt description of T**** Republicans ever:

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. … 2 Timothy, the first part of chapter 3.

OK, enough. Sister JJ will now pass the collection plate (AKA Act Blue) among you.

I got into a twitter snit a week or so ago with a woman hopping mad about the dead refugees being smuggled across the border and how she blamed it on Biden. Of course she did. I tried calmly to explain how immigration and border security are complex issues that deserve well thought out solutions. She threatened to block me because I didn’t “acknowledge the tragedy.” Sure. It’s almost as if thoughts and prayers are the cover charge and you don’t even get the two drink minimum.

After hearing “open borders” over and over again I finally asked the salient question: if the borders are indeed open then why did those drivers feel the need to try to smuggle those people in? If the borders were in fact open then they would have had them in the back of a flat bed pickup truck and just wave at whoever is standing by the border as they come in. You would not need to hide anyone from someone that’s not trying to catch you. Of course, I did not hear from her again.

I see scenes like this and have to laugh at the folks like Biggs raising a snit. Why don’t we ever hear from Native Americans? Why doesn’t somebody ask them how they feel about this? For that matter, how many of those crossing the border are actually Indigenous people themselves?

I also don’t understand why some people get their knickers in a twist at the thought of immigrants from south of the border. Nobody seems to care if Canadians want to immigrate. Besides, these are the very people who staff our restaurants, clean our hotel rooms, pick our Maryland crabs, not to mention pick our crops. All those jobs are going begging because there’s nobody to do them. I’ll bet most of those people will be glad to take those jobs for a decent wage.

Finally, your Governor has gotten his wish: You know those buses carrying immigrants to DC? Well, they’ve been showing up at a steady clip and just dropping people off at Union Station. The local volunteers and NGOs taking care of these folks are now officially overwhelmed. Thanks, A Butt. You don’t want to know what I’d like to do to you.

Buttermilk Sky, I read what Biggs and the house repugnanticans want to investigate- the already fully debunked D’Souza movie, “2000 Mules.” It’s just the tip of the iceberg of crazy shit if they take over the house in 2023.

  7. Professor, you New Testament excerpts would carry more meaning if they were Jesus’ direct words, rather than his disciples’ requotes.
You know they’re the real deal when you type em, and they show up in red.

  8. The Surly Professor says:

P.P. you’re right. Even worse, most of the New Improved Testament was written by folks who never bumped into JC. Paul of Tarsus and his gang fall in that category. Reading a red-letter version of the bible(*) is what convinced me that most Christians are not interested in what their alleged leader said or meant.

(*) For those not brought up in the Bible Belt and Suspenders, there’s versions that put the direct quotes of JC in red print. Makes it easy to sort out what he said from what others said about him.

  9. Open borders?
I recently tried to drive from Canada back into the US. The border crossing closed at 4 PM. I arrived at 4:15 PM. I rerouted to the next nearest wilderness crossing, a total of 11 hours in the car that day.

By the way, rerouted meant a kindly Canadian border guard came out of his office with a paper map and offered directions. We had no cell service, no wifi, no way to update the nav system for a different route. I felt like I was having a rough day. But nothing like the people in the photo above. I’m not a betting man, but I will bet a truckload of money that Rep Andy Biggs doesn’t have an ounce of compassion or understanding for what the people in the river are going through.

    10
  10. Let’s be real. ALL countries have open borders ( well, except maybe the Vatican). I have travelled all over the world and gone from country to country and in many cases, we were not stopped at the border. I was in Israel, for God’s sake, and we drove into Syria. Guess what? No border patrol. Just a sign that said “Welcome to Syria.” So right wingers, what country does NOT have open borders? Sure, there are border crossings in most countries if you are driving in, where you have to show your passport and answer a few questions. But go a few miles away and walk right in.

JJ: Uncle Melvin didn’t have A/C. I think I’ll stay well clear of you if your power goes out.
Your defense will be “Greg Abbott made made me do it”.

  13. As former NM Governor Bill Richardson said “You build a 10 foot wall and they’ll bring an 11 foot ladder.”

  14. slipstream says:

Apparently the ghost of Rose Mary Woods is now working for the Secret Service.

“Whoops! I guess we deleted those text messages from January 5 and 6. Golly, we just don’t know how that happened.”

    15
  15. Steve from Beaverton says:

The operative word for the secret service is “secret.” With all their efforts to discount Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony, we know she spoke the truth.

  16. First generation American here. Dad was an immigrant. He rode from where he start4d but hje had to make the last six yards on his own two feet. And he was met by a congenial human being wearing a border guard uniform who actually treated him kindly and made sure he got to where he was going even aft4r a little delay. Bill M. needs his hormones checked. It ain’t healthy for anyone to go off the way he does and manage to llive to 100.

  17. One of my relatives, back in the day, got scalped. Probably deserved it. There are times, especially when you are too hot, that someone or something gets on your last nerve.
