Rick Perry, Secretary of Oops

April 23, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Everybody in Texas has been wondering why we never hear from anybody about Rick Perry.  Governor Goodhair has managed to fly under the Trump radar for longer than any other cabinet secretary. And, trust me on this, that ain’t because he’s smarter than all the rest of them. Y’all, I know these things. Even back when he was a Democrat I told people that Ole Rick is powerful cute and plenty friendly but he is not burdened with the energy it takes to have a triple digit IQ.

He recently up and decided that he’s moving on from his job as cabinet secretary of the Energy Department, a department that he wanted to abolish when he was running for president, and had his infamous “Oops!” about.  Ya gotta wonder if he accomplished his mission of killing it, right?

Well, maybe. We just haven’t heard yet. What’s the status of these Office of Special Counsel and Department of Energy Inspector General investigations of Perry? Ya gotta wonder.

And add that Trump personally asked Perry if he’d take over as Homeland Security secretary but Perry, lover of camera facetime, declined and I am deeply grateful for that.  I’m wondering what’s next on Perry’s dance card. You can bet it involves money and probably hunting and beer. Other than that, he doesn’t have much else to do.

Keep an eye on this one. I smell something weird here.

While pRick Perry moseys on into the fading sunset there is some very good news in Texas.
(Fmr USAF MJ) MJ Hegar has announced her campaign to replace Sen. John Cornyn (TX-MAGAot).
Hegar ran a very aggressive race in the very red TX-31 district (Austin-Waco) and gave the incumbent Rethug his lowest margin ever (3 pts in a normal 13 pt district).
This race may also attract Rep. Joaquin Castro, which may make for a messy primary.

I’ll ultimately support any Democrat against Trump Toady and Mitchs’ Bitch Cornyn, but I strongly favor MJ Hegar. Hegar can probably run a more effective offensive campaign than Castro against ‘Big John’, and IMO have a better chance of defeating the odious SOB.

Anybody thinking that Castro might pull in the Hispanic vote, forget it, that’s a long-running Texas myth. Hispanics in most of Texas, excepting the Valley, are almost just as likely to be MAGAots as the old Anglo base is; just look at the TX SoS county voting tallies.

  4. Goodhair may not be smart but he has the necessary animal cunning to survive. We probably haven’t seen the last of him.

Hmmm. If I had to guess, I’d say my alma mater is about to live up to her reputation and do something stupid. Again. John Sharp is the Chancellor of the System here at TAMU and
he was Perry’s roommate. There will be some damned cush landing here, probably complete with a hero’s welcome and a ticker tape parade.
My daughter is right. People are stupid.
