Republican Sumbitches

May 28, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Last week, the Texas Supreme Court, which is totally Republican, rejected the idea that people who fear Coronavirus could vote my mail. They said, “we conclude that a lack of immunity to COVID-19 is not itself a physical condition for being eligible to vote by mail.”

At the time they handed down their ruling Justice Debra Lehrmann could not be there because she had COVID-19 “despite taking numerous precautions.” So, if this happens during election season, Justice Debbie is just gonna have to pull her ample ass out of bed and go expose her neighbors at her friendly polling station.  That woman has enough gall for all of us.

If COVID19 wasn’t anything to be afraid of, she would have been like the good Republicans in Pennsylvania, who purposefully did not inform their fellow legislators that one of the Republicans had the virus for a damn week.

Oh yeah, they are mad.

Yep, they are mad.  But, Honey, there is no such thing as being mad ENOUGH about total bullcrap like this. You could put a rock on top of a boulder on top on the Earth on top of Atlas standing on Jupiter and you still ain’t mad enough.

Republicans purposefully and gleefully exposed Democrats to the virus. Republicans all knew.  All of them.  They all and I mean all need to be prosecuted.

A damn week. That’s how horrible these people are. Every damn one of them.

Be social and share!

They need to be *IN COURT* explaining WHY they *refused* to inform others of the hazard they were facing.

    WHY?!!!

Yesterday someone online posted a smug little screed telling people not to holler at those not wearing masks, or scold them, or upset them, because after all they are human too and they might just’ve made a mistake or not understand, and anyway upsetting them might make them mad and that leads to divisions…and so on. And we shoudln’t think of this whole things in terms of war because that leads to us & them thinking…(This person reminds me of the sort who, back in the day, would say plaintively “Why can’t we all just be friends?”

And so today I see this, and other behavior by the GOPoliticians, when it clearly IS war, with one side willing to kill the other side, and the other side trying to stay decent and within the law, but it’s getting down to survival. There are people on the GOP/rightwing/libertarian/neo-Nazi/neo-Confed side of things who’ve openly said they want war, they’ve planning for war, and they look forward to shooting liberals down in the street. And now there are legislators willing to injure and kill fellow legislators to cover up a lie, the lie being intended to get more people “back to normal” at the risk of *their* lives.

There is no “nice” to cover that behavior, or Abbott’s or Paxton’s or Patrick’s or that of the Texas Supreme Court…there is no way to soften what needs to be said, no way to hide the truth. These people want to win by killing other people, including you and me and my best friends and the congregation of my church and black people and brown people preferentially over white people, and less-rich preferentially over more-rich people.

In 75 years (and mostly in the three years I spent in the Corps) I acquired a whole vocabulary of words suitable for such cruel, vindictive, selfish, arrogant, disgusting people (not those words, other words that Juanita Jean’s mother doesn’t want to see but are pointed and clear signifiers of their kind of evil) but even those words are not hard enough for the situation we’re in.

I couldn’t turn away from Rep. Sims’ righteous outrage. The video is worth watching to the end. And may this be the end of the Pennsylvania GOP, who richly deserve to be turned out of office and prosecuted.

Informed Pennsylvania voter here: It takes a lot for Brian — who is a decent, caring, and usually very pleasant person — to get riled like this. Folks, we are literally fighting for our lives as well as for our democracy. VOTE!

  6. I can see the Republicans now saying.
See ? It’s not that contagious. Nobody else got it.

  7. Just asking for a friend (’cause I’m 80 and can vote any way I want): what if I asked my county election official for a vote-by-mail ballot, claiming to be ill, when the real reason is the virus threat? Is someone (Ken Paxton?) going to come to my house to check? Or ask for a doctor’s note? Or just simply refuses until I provide proof of incapacitation? What if thousands asked to vote that way, overwhelming the system?

What authority does the state have to refuse? Couldn’t this be an act of civil disobedience, especially since our lives might literally be at stake? Since the state obviously doesn’t trust the vote by mail process, why should voters trust the state to be concerned about our welfare?

Thank you, Elizabeth Moon. You said what I wanted to say, far more eloquently than I could have done. I might have resorted to some of those words in your “suitable vocabulary.”

Prosecute them all. They all knew.

  9. El Jefe says:

Oh, one little detail. The Texas Supreme Court ruled against remote voting by mail remotely. That’s right, to guard against infection, Texas courts are meeting remotely.

This, folks, is the Republican Party today. These are people who have sold their souls to the Dark Side or Satan or whatever you want to call it — all the same to me. They are willing to stop at nothing to stay in power or get in power, whichever applies. This is today’s GOP, from the occupant of the Oval Office down to the lowest state drone. They are not willing to stand up for what is right even if they know that the position they’re taking is wrong — we found that out at the impeachment voting in the Senate when, according to a report in the New York Times, some GOP senators confessed they were “scared” to vote against Trump. Scared? SCARED???!!! To do the right thing? I hate the whole lot of ’em.

Thank goodness we PA Dems have a Dem governor, Tom Wolf, who has been slowly re-opening sections of the state and pushed through mail-in voting last year, despite the Rethug lawsuits and protests. Although the PA AG, also a Dem, has stated that he will not investigate this Rethug treachery.
Let’s not forget that a reporter exposed it. Exactly why Drumpf and his minions are so eager to limit the power of the Press.
    A pox on the Replicants!

  12. When will Texas actually turn Blue? If ever!
For years the prediction that Texas will one day become a Blue state has given comfort to Texans.

What does it take for Texans to realize than the corrupt party known as Repubs have inflicted enough damage to the once great state of Texas?
