Who Benefitted From Facebook Stealing Your Soul?

Lookie here. Eighteen different committees made payments to Cambridge Analytica totaling more than $16M from June 2014 to December 2016, according to FEC filings.

Ho Boy, Ted Cruz sure wasted his money.  Hell, that man is unlikeable even when he knows what you want to hear.

And lookie here who oversaw the collection of data.

Conservative strategist Stephen K. Bannon oversaw Cambridge Analytica’s early efforts to collect troves of Facebook data as part of an ambitious program to build detailed profiles of millions of American voters, a former employee of the data-science firm said Tuesday.

The man is the devil. I’m telling you right now – he’s got a 666 tattoo somewhere.

Thanks to Deb T for the heads up.

Jammie Boy’s Last Stunt

Blake Farenthold, the disgraced congressman from South Texas, told us that he was going to serve out his term after resigning for being a sexist pig and a real pervert.

He lied.

Of course he also lied about repaying the $84,000 in taxpayer money used to settle the lawsuit brought by his former legislative aide.

So, he lies.

His new plan is to leave congress early enough to trigger a special election prior to the big playing-for-keeps contest that happens in November.  That would benefit Republicans, who could then run their candidate coming off a much publicized win.

Another benefit would be that a special election costs the taxpayers about the same as landing on Boardwalk with three hotels.  Farenthold loves spending your money.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

He’s Doing Something Weird

Back in December I told you about a dude by the name of Kevin Stuart who formed a PAC called Make America Like Texas.

We have no idea what he means by that. Does he want America to be like Texas, or does he want America to start liking Texas.  Either way, I ain’t impressed with his linguistics.

As you would suspect, Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen has been keeping tabs on this guy.

Here’s what’s new.  The PAC got a donation.  One. But one is all you have to get if it’s so big it won’t fit in your wallet.

Yep, that’s $50,000 from a woman who is in “investments.” Lyssa Seale is the wife of Hank Seale, who made his money “specializing in interactive Web-based products for community banks, credit unions and savings and loan associations.”

Hank and Lyssa are also big game hunters.  Here they are in Spain killing stuff last year.

So, anyway, how does Make America Like Texas plan on spending that $50,000.  Oh, in New Orleans.

I dunno.  I’m not finished figuring this out.  But, the guy who owns the PAC goes by the name Kevin D. Stuart in Austin.

Okay, follow me here. The money was spent at Teddlie Stuart Media Company and one of the seniors partners there is Kevin E. Stuart, who is executive director of the Austin Institute.  Probably just a wild coincidence. They probably don’t even know either other and are as stunned as I am to discover this name thing.

The money that Lyssa Seale donated went to only one candidate:  Jason Issac, a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, who just ran for congress and came in 4th place – a distant fourth. So, Lyssa might as well have put her money in a sack and set it on fire.

However, I imagine that both Kevin E. Stuart and Kevin D. Stuart are probably pretty happy. Maybe they should get together for a drink.

Thanks to Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen for the heads up.

Nailed It!

Donald Trump may have finally nailed it when he proposed that people who deal opioids be given the death penalty.

Even Texas, the most executing state in the union found it to be “kind of over the top.”

I disagree.

When I get to see all the heads of big pharm and a whole mess of doctors taking bribes to prescribe opioids lined up on death row to be given their own drugs, that might not be over the top.

The opioid crisis is not starting in the streets or even the Mexican border – it’s starting (and sometimes ending) in the doctor’s office.

By the way, several sources ( here, here, here, and of course, here) say the way to end the opioid crisis is marijuana.

Fun With Guns: “It’s a Two-Fer!” Edition

March 20, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

Gun Shows seem to be the most dangerous places on earth.

Last weekend two guys were sitting in a car in the parking lot of the International Sportsmen’s Expo in Utah.

You know what happens next.

One of the men was handing the firearm to the other man when the weapon was accidentally fired.

The bullet struck one man in the hand, ricocheted and then struck the second man in the leg.

The police say it was an accident so no charges will be filed.  Had they shot a toddler walking by outside the car … oh well, accidents happen.

Thanks to Deb B for the heads up.

For My Texas Friends

A snide chuckle for you.

I was talking to an Austin political advisor last night who told me, “Now that we’re seeing the polling in Texas and the results from around the country, I cannot tell you the number of people who are horribly upset that they did not sign up last December to run for office in Texas.  And they are all named Castro.”
