Okay, So Rudy Giuliani has backed up so much that he’s left the zip code of sanity.

He now says that Trump didn’t collude but he doesn’t know if any campaign aides did.

“I never said there was no collusion between the campaign, or people in the campaign,” Giuliani said.

No, that’s not right.  He said “the campaign.”

Is he saying there was only a little collusion?

Now everybody knows for sure that Betsy Devos was not handed the job of Secretary of “Education’ because she knows anything the hell about education.  She doesn’t.

She dresses nicely and tries to look like a school board member but she’s a mess, y’all.  A total mess.

And now she wants us to think she knows about sexual harassment in education.  She has proposed some new regulations.  (The shorter version is right here.)

What it boils down to is this:

1. narrowed definition of sexual harassment, , i.e., “unwelcome sexual conduct” would only rise to the level of sexual harassment (as prohibited by Title IX) if it is “so severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive” that it effectively denies “a person equal access to an education program or activity.”;
2 new rules will no longer apply to many off-campus incidents;
3. higher standard of proof, i.e, “victims are required to file a formal written complaint” and the investigation includes live hearings with the “opportunity to test the credibility of parties and witnesses through cross examinations.”;
4. lowered reporting requirements, e.g., teaching assistants are no longer required to report violations despite their being the most likely to be talked with and to observe the harassment;
5. a major justification of the changes is to save schools money because they will have fewer cases.
Here’s an example which happened and wouldn’t be grievable under any of 1-3. A drunk male professor (repeatedly) demands that a female student worker pick him up at a bar to take him home and touches her inappropriate on the drive while telling her he loves her. Under the narrowed definition, she has no grievance because her grades are fine (1). The offense happened off campus (2). Among the witnesses are graduate students of the professor, so they would be intimidated from testifying with him present and able to cross-examine (3). Also, the professor could hire a lawyer, but the student, who was putting herself through school, could not, further penalizing the student (3).

You may have heard that Roku, which is some kind of weird gadget that you put on your teevee to watch stuff, decided to schedule Alex Jones on their device.

And all was well in the kingdom, for about 3 whole damn hours.  Then everything went to hell in a handbasket.

Roku issued a statement after everybody on Twitter went nuts. And some people even called Roku themselves …

Mark Bankston, another lawyer for Sandy Hook families, described Roku as “indifferent to the suffering caused by Mr. Jones’s continued onslaught of cruelty and reckless lies.”

Roku dumped Alex Jones.

Okay, so Nancy Pelosi asked Trump to move the State of the Union address because there’s a big ole CLOSED sign hanging on government doors, including the House.

While Pelosi’s letter is framed as a request to find a new date, the decision of when to host the President is very much up to the speaker of the House. The House and the Senate have to pass resolutions to actually green light the State of the Union. Neither have done so yet and Pelosi controls whether the House passes one at all.

Elections have consequences.  So does shutting down the government.

Poor ole Trump, that boy doesn’t know whether to scratch his watch or wind his ass.

Guys, I know this is going to come as a stunning shock to you, but ….

President Donald Trump and the Republicans’ tax cut is proving to be vastly more generous for corporate America, and vastly more expensive for taxpayers, than expected.

Bloomberg is estimating that the S&P 500 companies will save $600 billion, adding that to the national debt or squeezing it out of taxpayers.

They are talking a “13 digit savings” for big business if this continues.  This is what 13 digits looks like. 0,000,000,000,000 They have to say “13 digit” because there is no term to put after it and wowzillion sounds stoopid.
