Somehow, they always end up breaking my heart.

I’m speechless.

Texas Crap

January 13, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

Okay, it appears that anybody who can read is mortified by Governor Greg Abbott’s decision not to allow refugees into Texas.  The Houston Chronicle and the Dallas Morning News both editorialized about it.  The leaders of the biggest cities in the state – Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Austin are all opposed to Abbott’s hate filled edict.

But I’d like to offer my fellow Texans the cherry on the top.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has just issued a domestic terrorism outlook assessment.  It’s a long read but one that needs to be talked about.  Reading just the introduction sends a clear signal that domestic terrorism is being caused by homegrown white males, not immigrants, not people crossing the border, not refugees, not women, not children, not people of color, not any of the people Abbott hates, but white guys with legal weapons.

You know who we need to keep out of this country? White guys with weapons. And Greg Abbott knows that because his own Department of Public Safety just told him.

Some make Abbott read it and give a damn book report.

By the way, the two top threats come from —

  • (U) Based on the prevalence of recently conducted attacks nationwide, White Racially Motivated (WRM) is currently the most violently active domestic terrorism type.
  • Although not a new movement, Involuntary Celibates (Incels) are an emerging domestic terrorism threat as current adherents demonstrate marked acts or threats of violence in furtherance of their social grievance.

Incels are white boys who couldn’t get laid at the Chicken Ranch even if they had a chicken under each arm and fifty dollar bill taped to their forehead. But, you always suspected that, didn’t you?

Thanks to Scott for the heads up.

A Brand New Form of Almost-Terrorism

Does anybody know Sean Hannity’s cell phone number?

I ask because

During his radio show on Friday, Fox News host Sean Hannity appeared to threaten to publicize Republican senators’ phone numbers if they vote to allow witnesses to be called during the Senate impeachment trial, which could begin as early as next week.

Better yet … Uh, if some foreign country would please get me Hannity’s web browsing history, I would deeply appreciate it would gladly publish it right here.  If you want to throw in his text messages with Trump, everybody would be happy.  Republicans think they just text each other daily blessings from  Joel Osteen and Paula White but I’m thinking there’s less creepy but more sexy talk involved.

NY Times Compares US History Books Including Texas

January 13, 2020 By: El Jefe

The NY Times did a study of eight states’ US history textbooks including Texas, and it ain’t pretty.  Printed by the same publisher, the books differ in discussions of race, slavery, the Civil War, sexuality, and gun rights.  And if you guessed that Texas tilted the texts to far right ideology, you would be correct.

Enlightening (and depressing) read.

Gut Up, Girl.

This is kinda serious.

Bestselling novelists Stephen King and Don Winslow have offered to donate $200,000 to a children’s hospital if the White House press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, will hold a press conference, The Guardian reports.

Grisham attempted to shame them by saying they should just give the money to charity without strings attached.

Winslow responded:

“First, we both regularly donate to charity. Second, why do all Trump officials refuse to answer the most basic questions they are asked? Stop evading, Stephanie. Let’s try again: Why have you not held any White House press briefings for over 300 days? What are you afraid of?”

As yet, Grisham has not explained her reasoning.

Hey, the Press Secretary who won’t speak to the press is making about $180,000 a year.
