Okay, So This Happened and a Treat at The End

July 31, 2022 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, I have a little break, so I’ll tell a couple of stories.

Jones’s lawyer goes by the name of Andino Reynal.  On the second day of what appears to be a two week trial, Andino doesn’t get his hour long clips of Jones talking on the radio introduced because he did not introduce them prior to trial. That’s very normal. What is not normal is that he then turned on Bankston and tried to claim that Bankston “said” he could do it and called Bankston a liar. Oops. The judge stops this and said to Reynal, “if you impugn the honesty of another lawyer in my court, you better to be ready to prove it.” She was raising her eyebrows in that way that says, “back off, buddy.”

Reynal waits until the judge leaves the room and gets up in Bankston’s face calling him a liar. Reynal apparently forgot that there’s about 40 members of the media in the room and most of them have cameras. And that HBO is taping everything. Bankston looks out at the audience and says, “Hey, can I get some affidavits from anyone about what he’s doing to me?” It was funny but Reynal doesn’t have a funny bone. But …. he does have a middle finger.

I am not kidding.  Reynal’s middle finger is in every newspaper in the country.

Here’s Mark asking the reporters for a affidavit:

And here’s Reynal’s response seen in every damn newspaper in the country. I betcha his mother is damn proud.

But wait, there’s more.

I want to introduce Alex’s protege, Owen Shroyer. Owen is a shock jock on Jones’s network.  In this trial, after a witness has testified, the judge lets the jury go in the jury room and writes any question they might have the witness. They are to do it alone without consulting with other jurors.

Owen’s testimony was so weird that this happened …

And that was because Jones was in the hallway yelling in front of some jurors on a break that this whole trial was fake!

And then the judge seems a little upset with Shroyer. Damn.

Dan Soloman is particularly good to follow on Twitter, as is Elizabeth Williamson.

It was decided that Law and Crime would be allowed to tape the trial daily and put it online.

Be social and share!

Back when I was a young puppy lawyer, one of my mentors told me that lawyers and clients come in matched sets. Looks like he’s been proven right yet once again.

  2. At least one attorney has a mother who can be proud.

    2
  3. Evidently AJ and his cohorts never learned Rule #1. When in a courtroom, know when to shut up.

    3
  4. Steve from Beaverton says:

And rule # 2 should be don’t piss of the judge, so they’re batting 0-2.

  5. Maria Gonzalez says:

Glad to see the excellent work your little boy is doing, Juanita Jean. I know you are proud of that guy. As for that other fellow, that boy wasn’t raised right. Am not surprised he is jones’ attorney.

    5
  6. Grandma Ada says:

So how many lawyers has Jones go through to get this jewel? BTW, how’s the bankruptcy going?

    6
  7. His attempts at charm don’t seem to impress her much.

  8. UmptyDump says:

Day by day, F. Andino Reynal, Esq. (as he styles himself on his website) digs himself into a deeper hole. He is turning out to be just the kind of lawyer that Alex Jones deserves. As stated on his web page:

“Andino’s approach to criminal cases is driven by his strong work ethic and dedication to his clients. Lawyers who rely on simply poking holes in the prosecution’s case are doomed to fail more often than they succeed. Andino develops a theory of the case, supported by the facts, which is consistent with innocence. This theory becomes the centerpiece of the defense.”

Just like his client Jones … lots of theory … no facts. Andino is flailing (and failing) for all to see. After this epic performance, he’ll be reduced to defending drunk drivers in noight court.

  9. Thanks so much for the update!
Those f*ckers are just doing their best to do what the entire maga movement is trying to impose on the rest of us.
    Whoever’s the biggest bully wins.
Sounds like Mark and Her Honor have different ideas.
    Please thank him for me.

  10. Notice how the finger is pixelated out! Why?? EVERYONE including my 6yr old knows what it means and knows what the pixelation means. It all so silly. When I see such I know the person who did so believes in magic and that you can be cursed. even sillier!

    10
  11. Katherine says:

I’ve got my fingers crossed hoping the judge will toss AJ and company in jail for contempt!

  12. The Surly Professor says:

If I ever need legal representation in Texas, I know who’s getting my business (hint: it’s not Reynal). If it turns out that it’s something Bankston doesn’t specialize in, I’ll hire his firm. And will let them know that it’s because of his employment with them, and their support of him in this case.

I once saw a man wave the middle finger in the face of a steel mill colleague, who snake fast left the guy with the finger bent backwards all the way to the wrist. Too bad that could not be done in court.

    12
  13. BarbinDC says:

Thanks for the update. I’ll bet Jones wishes he hadn’t fired some of his previous lawyers in this case cuz “Skippy” seems to be getting on the judge’s last nerve. Plus, he seems to have no idea what he’s doing. Little Bubba is making him look BAD!

    13
  14. Like in the movie “The Verdict” (Paul Newman), I am hoping the jury asks to award even more money to the families than they requested. That would be fitting.

    14
  15. Keep running your mouth, Alex. Those judges are going to really give you the Karma you deserve.

I don’t know which I enjoyed most, the jurors’ questions or Judge Gamble’s take down of Reynal.

    BTW, Dang! she’s good!

  17. HarryEagar says:

When I lived on Maui, there was a guy who stationed himself on one of the busiest corners for several hours 4 or 5 times a week with his homemade signs promoting Infowars. He did this for more than 10 years (and may be doing it still), although I never saw him get any feedback: no waves or honks, nobody gave him the finger or got out to speak with him that I ever saw.

Alex Jones fulfills a deep, deep need in some people.

    17
  18. Harry Eagar says:

Jones is not in court again. What’s up with that? Not the way to win over jurors when they have to stay and he cannot be bothered.

    18
  19. Steve from Beaverton says:

Jones isn’t in court today? He’s probably looking for new representation so he can delay again. Don’t know if Rudee G or Sid Powell can practice law in Texas but they’d be perfect for him. Too bad for Jones ineffective counsel isn’t grounds to appeal a civil case.

    19
  20. Buttermilk Sky says:

At this point only Lin Wood is mad enough to take on Jones as a client. Last I heard the Georgia bar was trying to get him examined by a psychiatrist (or maybe a whole team).

    20
  21. Hurt Kelf says:

Also good to follow is the twitter stream of Jordan Holmes (@gotobedjordan) cohost of the excellent Knowledge Fight podcast wherein he and Dan Friesen, who consulted with the Plaintiffs’ lawyer Mark Bankston, have done over 700 episodes of deep dives into Alex Jones’ InfoWars.

    21
  22. Owen ‘The Chin’ Shroyer got a good ‘listen to your mother’ talkin to! Lol if he could only get his chin to stick out a little more.

    22
  23. Sounds as if Reynal is to the law what Jones is to journalism. I hope both are rewarded as they deserve.

    23
  24. HarryEagar @17 says:
When I lived on Maui, there was a guy …

I saw a guy a few miles outside Hilo on the Big Island a couple of days ago, dozens of white poster board signs with various black magic marker scrawls on them about Alex Jones.

Maybe he moved? Or it’s his cuz?

    24
  25. john in denver says:

I get the impression that the judge is keeping a list of the behaviors of Alex Jones, the attorney for Mr. Jones, and some of the witnesses being presented on behalf of Mr. Jones. After the trial is complete and the jury returns a decision, I believe there is a distinct possibility that she will reconsider the list and determine if the items justify action — contempt citations, referrals to attorney disciplinary processes, referrals to the DA for perjury charges,

A judge using the words “Be careful” to an attorney — I’ve never seen it in my infrequent presence for trials OR read about it in my more extensive work preparing to teach a bit of legal communication.

    25
  26. Steve from Beaverton says:

How despicable is Alex Jones? He skipped court today to do a show in which he called the deaths at Sandy Hook “collateral damage” so we could have 2nd amendment protections. He found a former judge to support his thesis. That is seriously warped. I’m sure many Sandy Hook parents will have read about it. This guy needs a cranial lobotomy without anesthesia.

    26
  27. UmptyDump says:

A big +1 to #25 john in denver. At end of day today (Monday), Reynal told the judges that Jones will appear tomorrow morning as a defense witness. Get ready for Breakfast With Alex … three big bowls of grits and a plate of Rocky Mountain Oysters fried and drowning in bacon grease. Sriracha on the side!

Is Alex Jones trying for some insanity defense? That doesn’t work in civil cases either. He’s really sick but it won’t work. Doubt the judge will read what he said today on his “show”, but he’s really trying to piss her off. I think he’s succeeded.

  30. UmptyDump says:

Today’s followup to #25 comments by “john in denver”:

Also late Tuesday, with the jury out of the courtroom, Mark Bankston discussed before the judge his potential filing for sanctions to be placed against Jones’s defense attorney, Reynal.

In other words, after the jury’s verdict, don’t expect this trial to be completely over.

Furthermore, get ready to hear Jones on his latest InfoWars radio broadcast to rise up and take a shot at Bankston, which would be about as stupid as it gets legally. Even Reynal had to nudge Jones out of the room at the end of today, because Jones is so dumb that he was still trying to have the last word.

    30
  31. Steve from Beaverton says:

Jones is dumb on steroids, literally. And he already did call out Plaintiff attorneys (and the judge) on his “show” this morning. This is bizarre. No other way to describe it.

Wow. Sandy Hook parents’ lawyer is revealing that Alex Jones’ lawyers sent him the contents of Jones’ phone BY MISTAKE.

“12 days ago, your attorneys messed up and sent me a digital copy of every text” Jones has sent for years.

“You know what perjury is?” the lawyer asks.

Could be the same man. On Maui he used those sorts of signs but only 2 or 3 at a time.

I am pretty sure Reynal did not want Jones on the stand but 1) given the nature of the case could not leave him off and 2) Jones absolutely wanted to be on the stand.

I thought Jones did not do nearly as badly on direct as I would have expected, but — WOW! Bankston destroyed him on cross and did it with the phone records that the defense gave him by accident. An accident that Jones seems likely to take as a plot.

I covered trials for 45 years and have been watching them for longer than that, and only once before have I seen a defense ruin itself so late in the proceedings.

(That was in an animal cruelty trial, where the defense asked a government inspector if he had found any other bones. The expected answer was no, but the answer was yes. The defense lawyer was 78 years old and for a minute i thought he might have apoplexy.)

    34
  35. Your son is a rockstar! Even if he doesn’t get the jury to settle on the full amount, he has forever damaged AJ. Can’t wait for his summary statement. Can’t wait for the phone info to be turned over to the DOJ.

Clusterf*** Of The Year: Alex Jones Trial Is Off The Rails

it includes confirmation of what I read elsewhere, but simply could not believe:

“Then another bombshell. Alex Jones’s attorneys “accidentally” sent his entire phone records to the attorneys for the Sandy Hook parents.

    Holy crap.”

    36
  37. UmptyDump says:

“Sent the phone records to the plaintiffs’ attorneys by mistake’?

Question for the lawyers on this thread – If Jones’s attorney had withheld the entire phone contents by choice, wouldn’t that put them in violation of their requirement to provide all discovery as requested?

So were they really concerned about committing an offense that could result in their disbarment?

    37
  38. eyesoars says:

Will Bankston and Jones both be filing for sanctions on Jones’ lawyers?
The very loud silence when Bankston asked for the phone to be put in evidence, and there was no objection, was pretty stunning. That they didn’t try to reel in the phone image suggests they really hate Jones.
Then too, I’m thinking of ways the judge might make it clear that she and the jury are not actors. I don’t think an actor could put Jones or Shroyer in the slammer for 60 days. It probably won’t happen, but a guy can dream.

  39. maryelle says:

    HOLY HUGE MISTAKE!!!
Not only does Bubba Jr. have the goods on Jones from his phone records, but as soon as they heard it, the January 6 committee
is going to subpoena the very same. And Justice Department here we come!
    YEE HA!

  41. Steve from Beaverton says:

This afternoon A (hole) Jones is saying everything that happened at Sandy Hook was “100% true”. Again, he’s trying to get the plaintiff’s, judge and jury to unhear what he already said over and over. Way too late. Likely his phone information will confirm what he said when it mattered to the parents he defamed. His phone trove will likely also bear out his Jan 6 involvement. A guy that makes a living spewing lies will have to get buried in his lies. Oops, again.

    41
  42. Steve from Beaverton says:

Wow did Raw Story just butcher the closing arguments by Alex Jones attorney. They stated that AJ’s attorney was Mark Bankston if you can believe it.

    42
  43. Weakgrip says:

Mark should get a Wikipage for this service

    43
  44. eyesoars says:

@42 – Steve from Beaverton: maybe Raw Story is confused because AJ’s attorneys screwed AJ over worse than Bubba Jr.
No matter what Bubba did or does, he couldn’t have provided damning, iron-clad material perjury evidence without help from AJ’s lawyers (or AJ’s own testimony).
Bubba Jr. honored the old rule about never interrupting your enemy when he is busy making a mistake.

    44
  45. Steve from Beaverton says:

Eyesoars, you could be right. Raw Story just corrected naming Mark Bankston as AJ’s attorney.

    45
  46. Weakgrip says:

Can the jury award more than $150 million, which is the amount asked?
