Oh Bob

August 26, 2014 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Just when you thought that the trial/saga of Bob McDonnell could not possible get any weirder at all, in comes the priest and things get kinky.

Bob says that he’s left his wife and is now living with a priest.  And by “living” I mean oh-what-the-hell.

Last week former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell revealed during his corruption trial that he has left his wife and is now living with a Catholic priest named Wayne Ball, seen above. Father Ball, as it turns out, was once busted for having gay sex in the parking lot of a park.

FatherBall

McConnell has raised the stakes in the Corrupt Republican Governor Sweepstakes.  Scott Walker, Rick Scott, Rick Perry and Chris Christi have some catching-up to do.  Not that I don’t believe they can top that, but I do hope their efforts are as oh-what-the-hell.

Thanks to Brian for the heads up.

  1. A letter in the WashPost today pointed out that McConnell is using the oldest excuse in the JudeoChristian book: “This woman gave me the apple!”

    Father Ball? Really?

  3. I must say I don’t miss the soaps at all. This trial has got everything. . . .

An ex-gov’s wife being run over with a bus by her husband’s defense team.– Accused of greed, lust and craziness. (What did they have to promise her to smile through all of this?) The ex-guv is suddenly brain dead about sports cars he drove, free trips on private jets he took, vacations and golf trips he got for nothing and is now living with a gay priest who is blogging about the whole thing.

Never let it be said republicans lead boring lives. Hypocritical
and downright insane lives—but not boring.

Rhea, I love it! Reminds me of one of my favorite bumper stickers: “Eve was framed.”

(But probably Ms. McConnell is not as innocent as Eve was.)

  6. The saga continues to amaze. Every week there seems to be some new lascivious development. Looks like the Mrs. has got her work cut out for her to top this one, but she seems up to the task. Their poor kids must be heartbroken and mortified.

This is, and always has been, about greed. My theory is they’re both horrible people who teamed up for money and power. He wants power, she wants money. They tolerated each other to run their grift.

If you marry for money, you’ll never work harder in your life. If you marry for power, you’ll never really have it.

    They deserve each other.

  8. Gasp! So Bob is not living in a spare room in a rectory as was reported in the paper? And how the heck is Fr. Ball still wearing a back-asswards collar if he really was arrested on such a charge? Bob just laid back and let his wife put him and his administration in a position of obligation with that Williams guy. No two ways about that. Bob screwed up. He really did not need any help doing that from anyone else. It was in his nature. There was no way he didn’t know or even strongly suspect that the big fancy watch his wife gave him came wasn’t from her cookie jar! He just played dumb and then dumped everything, as usual, on her. Any time any Repunkican blathers about their party’s family values, I would advise all within hearing to run like hell!

  9. I can see it now:

In a contentious 2016 convention Gov pRick Perry refuses to release his delegates, promising to be out of prison before January 20th if voters will just put him in the White House. Meanwhile no other GOP candidate, including Gov Christie, will release their delegates until a second vote is taken. After several voting rounds McConnell is nominated at midnight.

On the Democratic side Hilary Clinton and Michelle Obama move toward quiet November, 2016 victory.

I do hope somebody is making a very funny movie of all this, or a novel, or a series of both on TV. I might even watch TV for that.

  11. McDonnell’s strategy is a little difficult to understand since he seems to have put himself in a lose-lose situation. Dems will hate him for being corrupt and Repubs will hate him for being gay.

    11
  12. Wa Skeptic says:

Whoa–I’m starting to lose track! Is this an excuse for hating his wife? Is this his wife’s revenge for him allowing his lawyers to throw her under the bus?

And if he’s living with a priest, why not chose someone who isn’t
    tainted like that?

    Someone isn’t thinking this through.

  14. OK, the Bobster was on the stand for what seemed like forever as he tried to expunge himself. Maureen will get at the max 3 hours as of today. This is just a very, very, very badly scripted critter and the sooner it disappears the faster and better Virginia can really concentrate on what really matters, such as convincing a Repunkican legislature that it is entirely wrong in the worst way to make impoverished and sick Virginians suffer even more by saying no to Medicaid expansion. I thank God that there are those folks who go to great lengths to hold yearly medical/dental/optical round-ups for the thousands of poor folks who show up for free care but the scenes, frankly, are heart breaking and only further convince me that Repunks will never be people who need people unless they are the Koch brothers.
