The Fifth Circuit stayed the Voter ID decision and says that doing away with it now will cause confusion.  Seriously.  They said that.  Like requiring everybody to have specific IDs along with their voter registration card does not cause confusion.

And on the upside – Supreme Court halts Texas abortion law that shutters many clinics .  The Fifth Circuit had lifted the stay on ambulatory surgical center requirements of HB2 but the Supremes say the rules are on hold until appeals are exhausted.  So, the clinics are still open.

  1. I wish they’d make up their minds (correctly) on both issues in all the states. The whiplash is hurting my neck.

  3. This is Texas. Confusion Reigns!

This law was in effect during the primaries, so they (the 5th Circuit) are going to leave it alone, until it gets to the Supremes.

  4. For the first time in a long time, I can breathe a sigh of relief over the Supremes!! Now if only they can go one further and take on the voting rights issue.

  5. The stay on the voting rights issue amounts to keeping Texas under Republican’t control and is turning your great state into a third world country. The anti-labor union sentiment has prevented the nurses from organizing and demanding proper protections and training in the care of not just ebola, but other infectious diseases as well. The lack of healthcare for so many pretty much ensures that diseases will spread exponentially.
    Republicans kill.
