McConnell Says Trump Committed Impeachable Offenses

January 12, 2021 By: El Jefe Category: Impeachment, Trump

Mitch McConnell signaled the end of the Trump presidency today by telling associates that he’s “pleased” that the Dems are impeaching Trump and that impeachment will make it easier to purge him from the party.  Said associates immediately leaked the comment to the press.  That’s McConnell’s way of communicating to Trump to pack his shit and get out. Clearly the money stream is drying up due to Trump’s attempted coup last week, and McConnell now sees him as a liability.  Folks, it’s over.

Looking into my Crystal Bourbon Bottle, I predict that Trump will be gone by Friday.  Republican resistance to the impeachment effort in the house is tepid at best, coming mostly from Drooler Caucus, and even McCarthy is backing away from Trump.  Having lost McConnell’s support Trump is toast.  Now it’s just a matter of how Trump leaves, and I predict he will try to resign rather than face a conviction and removal from the Senate.  The thing is, though, to purge Trump, they’ll have to convict, then vote again to disqualify him from holding any other federal offices.

“Turn out the lights, the party’s over…”

If Mitch is serious, he should agree to join with Chuck Schumer to call the senate back this week and vote on impeachment before inauguration. If he did, maybe like Nixon, Trumpf would resign because until now, he thinks the senate will protect him. Sorry, I’m not holding my breath on Mitch.
And now at least 2 republican members in the house are on board with impeachment, and tonight’s vote on asking pence to invoke the 25th amendment might be telling. I wonder if pence would throw out the pardon carrot to Trumpf to motivate him to resign on his own. Probably not what a malignant narcissist would go for.

  8. Headline: Republican Liz Cheney issues blistering statement on Trump — and says she’ll vote to impeach

“Much more will become clear in coming days and weeks, but what we know now is enough,” she said. “The President of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the President.”

  9. There’s still the little issue of pressuring Georgia’s Secretary of State to basically overturn the results of an election…incredible that at this point that’s small potatoes.

If serious, Moscow Mitch needs to put on his big boy pants, summon Leningrad Lindsey and Kevin McCarthy for a tête-à-tête. Follow up with a march to the WH with a letter of resignation for the fu king moron to sign. Then instruct the Secret Service to truss up Donnie on a dolly like fictional character Hannibal Lector. Most importantly let Donnie know if he does not graciously accept the gift or if he ever opens his pie hole again, his next flight will be to Iran for due process.

Then for good measure accept the bill of impeachment from the House, schedule a quick vote in the Senate to convict for added insurance followed by giving NY AG Leticia James every document she requests.

Oh. And let’s not forget Dimwit Jr. Mint – same deal as Flynn Jr. STFU or you’re next. Kumbaya, Mitch.

I hope it’s true, but I don’t believe a word out of the devious turtle’s mouth. He can prove he means it by calling the Senate back into session and convincing his Senate Republican colleagues to convict Trump, then pass the resolution forbidding Trump from ever holding a Federal office again. Until then. . .Your ball, Mitch!

  12. The biggest rats have gone overboard and although the ship may appear momentarily steady, no one is left bailing water. Soon the SS Trump will list heavy starboard, then go down fast. Captain on the bridge… to nowhere.

    12
  13. Agreed. For sure, for sure, this happened because the corporations and PACs are backing away from the 147 and, most likely, anyone who doesn’t vote to impeach or convict.

And where are Mitch and his Senate without all that lovely money? They take it as a point of pride that they consistently out-raise and outspend the Democrats and that gravy train could come to an end if they don’t get rid of their albatross.

They have a picture of the fire extinguisher killer of officer Sicknick wearing you guessed it, a CFD stocking hat. It’ll only take a few minutes to identify him now, but he’s just one conspirator. They all need to be charged.

    14
  15. Is CFD for the Chicago Fire Department? And, no, I didn’t guess it.

    15
  16. Steve from Beaverton says:

The information I’ve read on Reuters and other sites does not specify what “C” city his hat comes from. I still think it won’t take long to find out. The question will be how many other images they have of this guy. Don’t think he was aunt tifa though.

    16
  17. @ Steve – Apparently he’s David Quintavalle, a retired Chicago firefighter, who attacked the officer with a fire extinguisher causing fatal injuries. Developing.

  18. So Mitch is more concerned about the GOP than the country. What a surprise.

McCarthy hears the ambitious steps of Liz Cheney running up to snatch the title of House Minority Leader from him. He’s a follower, not a leader. Cheney has dreams of being Speaker. Heaven help us.

Reps Gosar, Biggs, and Brooks are in trouble for helping Ali Alexander (aka Ali Akbar) plan the insurrectionist rally. Also is trouble is Rep “I carry a Glock”, for tweeting out that Pelosi was no longer on the House floor during the invasion, after members were instructed not to give out any information about the location of self or others. And I heard that metal detectors were installed for all House members to walk thru before entering the chamber but that some of the GOP bumped into guards and rushed through. Entitled sonovabitches.

  19. I watched an extended BBC clip of the repulsive ratbastard on his visit to his precious Wall, south of Alamo, TX today.
He acted almost like nothing had happened on 6 Jan. He was quite non-apologetic and aggressive, swinging at all his perceived enemies, and yammering about all the MAGAoty hotbutton stuff you could imagine.
He threw shade everywhere and made several threats towards PE Joe Biden.
This sonuvabitch needs to GO, right fucking now.

I tried to study the very small assembled audience, thinking I might recognize someone. The audience only had a couple of women, a bunch of LEOs [CPB, etc], and the rest appeared to be Wall workers who just happened to be there and were rounded up to stand around.

    .
PS– If you are watching the PBS program [catch a rerun]:
“Frontline 2”, it’s titled “United States of Conspiracy”.
One of the interviewees is the Salon’s proprietor JJ/Ms. Bankston [and Bubba]’s attorney son Mark. He appears in the context of ‘Posner V. Alex Jones’ over the Newtown/Sandy Hook massacre.

Thanks, Sandridge. The PBS program will be on at 9:00 here in Alaska. I will watch.

Looks like Frontline 2 is on at 9 PT tonight as well. Recording. Thanks Sandridge!

  22. RE: “Frontline 2”, it’s titled “United States of Conspiracy”
PS– This is a heavily updated version of the original one aired back in J/J of last year. Frontline always does a great job of investigative reporting. Hard to believe that the RWNJs fall for the absurd crap that they lap up from the likes of Alex Jones, Limpballs, Savage, Levin, etc.
