Louie

Louie Gohmert has three children.  One of them moved to California and adopted the stage name of Bellsaint.  She’s s singer/songwriter.

She just released a song called Much Like My Father.

Lyrics:

[Verse 1]
Everybody loves you
But there’s poison in the water
You get away with everything
Much like my father

[Verse 2]
I know when you’re not listening
Your eyes begin to wonder
You want me whenever its convenient
Much like my father

[Chorus]
So how do you make somebody love you back
How do you make somebody love you
I can’t get close, I can’t let go
What am I supposed to do with that

[Verse 3]
I don’t like to cry in public
I’d like to think I’m stronger
But the truth is I push everyone away
Much like my father

[Bridge]
Was it something I did?
Was it something I didn’t say?
Would it matter either way

[Chorus]
How do you make somebody love you back
How do you make somebody love you back
How do you make somebody love you back
How do you make somebody love you
I can’t get close, I can’t let go
What am I supposed to do with that?

Sad. Really sad.

  1. Louie’s daughter? The lyrics suggest Dimwit Junior Mint in a dress and wig borrowed from half of Jarvanka.

  2. Well, that explains everything. Jane and Pam are also right on. Yeah, these guys had kids and have a family but they treat them like appendages, useful only on occasion. And then they wonder why their kids hate them. Go figure!

  3. OT – Would you like total exoneration or just a slap on the wrist?

Edit: ‘A complete sham’: Anger grows over report GOP senators met with Trump to map out ‘rigged’ impeachment trial

News from The Washington Post that top White House officials held a clandestine meeting Thursday with Republican Senators to map out a plan to limit the Senate impeachment trial while President Trump has been secretly “courting” Senate Republicans in an effort to gauge and gain their loyalty has many angered and alarmed.

The House is expected to pass articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, which would require the Senate to hold an impartial trial, over which the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court would preside. It very much is a legal proceeding with historic consequences for the future of America’s democracy.

Republicans appear to not have grasped this fact, not the gravity of their constitutional duties. Many Americans are growing angered as a result. Some are calling the Senate impeachment trial “rigged” before it has even begun. Others are pointing out that this is akin to jurors meeting with the “defendant to discuss how long they think they have to let the trial go on.”

“Juries don’t collude with the accused criminals they’re judging,” one person on Twitter said. “Only collusion, only obstruction,” said another.

Take a look at the responses:
Meanwhile, the fact that the target of an investigation is conspiring with the very public servants who will serve as jurors on his trial is shocking to some.

  4. Adjunct: To Pet a Mockingbird

How many snide and smarmy remarks have we had to listen to for weeks regarding the congressional impeachment inquiry? Sham hearings – Nothing more than a show trial – Magic theories, etc.

  5. Linda Feather says:

If this is a true expression by Louie’s daughter about how she feels about her dad (and the person she’s addressing in the song), this is one of the saddest laments by a celebrity’s child that I have ever heard.

  6. Bigotry is sad … and harmful and dangerous.
Sad but good news she’s healing and breaking the ‘cycle of dysfunction’ that’s handed down thru family’s. Dysfunction and/or Bigotry comes in many different forms. I speak from personal recovery and experience.

  7. Oh, my, her song is heart-rending. This is one child who grew up thinking for herself, not swallowing Gohmert’s repulsive swill, but hurt nonetheless by his negligence. She despairs for lack of her father’s love. I wonder if he’s heard this song.

    7
  8. She has a very pretty voice. Such a sad song. Didn’t think I could like Louie less but that probably does the job.

  9. Liberty Belle says:

Even sadder that she’s performing in a Duncan Latte Lounge.
    Whatever the hell is that?

  10. Chloe Bear says:

What a sad, heartbreaking song. We know he is an idiot now we know he is also an *&% a-hole. No child should be hurt that way.

I wish these excuses for humans would crawl back into the hole from which they came.

    10
  11. Huh. I misread a sentence in your article.
    I read, “She’s an anger/songwriter.”

Come to think of it, I believe I was right the first time. God knows she’s got reason.

    11
  12. Bellsaint has my compassion gleaned from similar experiences.

    12
  13. Chloe Bear:
I agree. Unfortunately these excuses for humans have made crawling out from under that rock their patriotic duty.
Exposing the pale, sickly colored undergrowth.

    And claiming it’s patriotically healthy.
They’ve got a whole infrastructure system in place that’s magnitudes of order more effective than 3 years ago.

  14. Sam in Superior says:

It sounds like she decided to think for herself and leave the SBC.

    14
  15. We’ve become accustomed to the constant rancid flow of bullshit, to the point of shrugging off the putrescence now exploding.
    But I hope not.
I can only speak for myself

  16. 1toughlady says:

Wow, what a tragic song. That poor girl, stuck with such a father. I wish her healing and peace.

  17. Buttermilk Sky says:

Hate politics has been tough on the family, an institution the right claims to revere. I can’t find the name of that Arizona (?) congressman whose siblings made an ad urging people to vote against him, but here’s what Stephen Miller’s uncle thinks of him:

  18. thatotherjean says:

Oh, that poor kid! If that song is anything like as autobiographical as it sounds, my opinion of Louie Gohmert has dropped lower than the bottom of the Mariana Trench–not that it was ever anything but dismal.

    18
  19. Buttermilk Sky, you are right, hate politics are hard on the family.
