Ken Paxton Backs Down And Then Hits The Kid Next To Him
Texas Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton is a man living on the edge. Odds are pretty good that he’s gonna be convicted of felony stealing-other-people’s-money. But, far be in from Ken to stay quiet.
He’s also a big giant muddy nasty piece of poopie del pollo.
He was charged with contempt of court because he refused to follow a judicial order to list same-gender spouses on death certificates. But when the hearing that could land him in jail for contempt got close, he backed down.
Wednesday’s contempt of court hearing for Attorney General Ken Paxton and a state health official was canceled Monday after state officials agreed to allow death certificates to acknowledge same-sex marriages, a lawyer involved in the case said.
And to keep the wacko GOP base from chewing his butt for backing down, he immediately went on the attack.
Female employees of religious nonprofits should not be given insurance coverage for birth control if their employers object to certain contraceptives on religious grounds, according to a brief filed at the U.S. Supreme Court by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
I want you to think about this. The Baptists are against abortion and contraceptives. How the hell do they get any woman to work for them when the women are all barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen. But, maybe that’s the whole point here, ya know?
Thanks to S Gray for the heads up.
“How the hell do they get any woman to work for them when the women are all barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen.”
Same mystery as why a woman or any minority (including poor whites) would vote against their own interests, ergo Republicon.
Stockholm Syndrome?
1Damn near nothing these RW’s do makes a dog’s spit worth of sense! Consequently, this should only serve as prima facie evidence that lint could outsmart them on a competency test. The way that one pix of him looked recently (2 different faces in 1) nailed it for me. His mental status simply could not be ignored any longer. He needs to be someplace where he will be safe and get all sorts of medicated care.
2Even worse, Catholic ethics and dogma teaches that masturbation is a sin. Imagine the number of people they’d find to work for them, if that were enforced — with lie detector tests.

In fact, we might shut the ‘religious freedom’ complainers up by ‘agreeing’ with them and having them put in writing those things that, in their faith, makes a marriage invalid — and then demanding they live up to that standard, including making ‘clients’ swear, under oath, that their marriage or relationship meets the standards set. No wedding cakes for SSM, okay — IF no wedding cakes for interfaith, interracial, divorced, or non-virginal couples. (And given one idea that was strong in early Christianity — see the ‘Tecla” stories — a discount for anyone who agrees to remain celibate even after marriage.)

Something tells me the purity of the bakers’ faith would be matched by the emptiness in their business accounts/
Maggie, I wish Dems and sane people generally would stop playing armchair psychotherapist. If you’re not qualified please stop. I did years ago and am happier for it. I learned to stop delving and to see them at face value. They are in fact the liars and cheaters some people reveal them to be.They don’t deserve you’re kind heart. They would squash it in a New York second. Believe me. I’ve known too many of them in my life. The face they see in the mirror is the only one they care about. Hard to hear but true.
4So the on e thing that ensures fewer abortions, contraception, is on the GOP hit list. Nice. Once they get all the women back where they belong, int he bedroom, kitchen, and nursery, and out of the boardrooms and legislatures, I’m sure the nice men will decide that we are too delicate to be bothered with voting, and take away that right too. Anyone else feel like we’re on a train to the 1800’s?
5SallyinMI, not so much a train as a garbage scow.
6Prup, you have to know that masturbation is a sin only for women. For men, meh.
7he’s such a Buttroy.
8Why on earth are the State of Texas Attorney General and the AG lawyers spending state time and state taxpayers’ money on writing and filing amicus briefs for religious universities?? HBU is not a state university. Am I missing something here? Heaven forbid that we have clean air in Texas, our AGs have to sue, sue, sue the federal government over EPA regulations, but the AG is filing amicus briefs in support of these religious entities?
9@SallyinMI: not 1800s… More like Middle Ages…. The concept of ‘chattel’ is sure to be under discussion in some right wing organizations. This concept would solve so many of the current social ills caused by the current liberal/progressive establishment.
10Here’s what I would say to those opposing abortion & contraception & wanting to control women. We could absolutely end abortion by controlling males. Castrate them all, after they squirt in a tube so their sperm can be saved. No more unwanted pregnancies. FAR less violence and aggressive behavior. Males would be more diligent at work, not distracted (as they claim) by women’s presence. They’d be healthier and live longer, more productive lives, too–all that spouting off and posturing is bad for their blood pressure, heart, liver, etc. It’s doing them a favor, really. Anyone with a history of violent antisocial behavior–his sperm doesn’t go in the bank.
If a woman of sound mind chooses to have a particular man’s child, she can petition to have it done by AI. If no one picks a guy’s sperm for 10 years, throw it away. There are always younger guys’ more vigorous sperm to freeze, when they hit puberty.
This stuns the anti-choice folks into silence for a few moments, so I can explain the benefits and walk away before they start screaming. Would I really? No, it’s illegal. But it’s fun to scare the horses sometimes.

The entire article is worth reading.
The last paragraph is worth repeating…… over and over again.
“Nobody Cares about your Damned Religion”.
Best response to all this…. I’ve seen.
Preach It! “Nobody Cares”.
12Elizabeth Moon: try this one on them. Statistically we only need the sperm from less than 100,000 men to continue the genetic diversity of humanity. All the other men are a waste of resources. Or maybe we can neuter them and have worker drones. Of course, women would rule. Just a thought…
13No, djw, you know women don’t masturbate. We don’t really like sex, donchaknow. We only do it when we have to because it’s our “wifely duty”.
14Judge Garcia should have put his butt in jail. Smirk THEN.
15I can’t look at Paxton’s mugshot without thinking “Just how stoned was he??????”
16What I want to know is how much in attorney’s fees to settle the contempt hearing. You know the judge would have awarded the plaintiffs attorney’s fees for having to prosecute the motion in court due to the defendant’s failure to follow the court’s order. They always do. Alfredo, help me out here.
17Re: sterilization of adult males. There would have to be series of tests (physical, sociological, psychiatric) to determine fitness for reproducing (values to be decided by women!!), and then the sperm collected from the available candidates and used as requested by the women who decide to reproduce. The snipped males would still be available for marriage, etc., because just because they’re sterile doesn’t mean they can’t be loving companions. Win-Win.
18Once the breeding males reach the age of 35 or so, they can be sterilized as well. The ongoing recruitment of breeding males would continue as well.
Ya’ll might want to read a bit about Lasater’s Six essentials before you implement such a breeding plan. Oh and some Friedrich Nietzsche Also Sprach Zarathustra.
19Miemaw, thanks for the link. I’ve passed it on to a few other sane people.
