Karen And Skippy Take A Stand

June 29, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

The boneheaded Mayor of St. Louis, Lyda Krewson, decided that it would be a charming idea to announce the names of everyone who called her or wrote to her wanting to defund or reform the police department. Well, that’s kind of silly, but then she added their damn home addresses.  She was trying to get them and their families either harassed and/or killed.

So, since turn about is fair play, a peaceful parade to her house started inside her gated community to let her know how that felt.

And then come Karen and Skippy, neighbors of the mayor, (not their real names but it could be) to defend their mansion from the common people.

Oh dear Lord.

There’s lots wrong here. Lots.  Not knowing how to handle or use weapons just has to take the top of the list.  You’d think with all their money and considering that they are both personal injury attorneys, they might have taken some lessons before defending the Alamo.

Second, is this their bunker?  Do they have food stored up here and window covers that bolt down?  Their house looks like it’s made of upscaled cinder blocks so you never know.

You can find more movies of this all over the internet and if they weren’t putting lives at danger, including their own, it would be funny as all get out.

White people.  What can I say?

  1. Apparently the antiques in their midwestern palazzo include a French cabinet called un homme debout, in which a gentleman could conceal himself during the Terror. Why didn’t these modern aristos conceal themselves therein, with armament, if they liked? Why wave around fire power, endangering themselves and others? You’d think two personal injury lawyers would know better.

And Trumpf retweeted the video, one of his two campaign ads this weekend, the other being the white power parade of golf cart racists in his home state. Like I’ve said, he’s running to replace Jefferson Davis. And his supporters wonder why protesters continue every night.

Personal injury lawyers, a/k/a bottom feeders.

They make a lovely couple – as a giphy. Not sure which one is best, Karen parting Ken’s hair with her gun. Or, Ken pulling the trigger on his releasing his elbow into Karen’s ribs … repeatedly.

  5. If Karen & Skippy were to harm any of the protestors, I assume they’d represent themselves in court. That way the two of them could not only prove they have 2nd Amendment rights, but that a lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client.

JJ, if it’s not their bunker, they should dig one out under the house. Then they could safely watch the street from surveillance cameras instead of waving pistolas around in broad daylight for all to see.

  6. Grandma Ada says:

So if they are lawyers, do they know it’s illegal to go out and threaten people with guns? What if someone is walking their dog in the neighborhood and it pees on their grass – is the dog killed? These people need a visit from the HOA and police. Trust me, HOA’s are scarier!

If this truly can be considered assault since they were causing fear, I hope someone files a complaint. I know it probably wouldn’t go anywhere but it seems to me that it’s important to have an official record of it. If you look hard enough, maybe there are enough other idiocies they’ve done to get them at least reprimanded by the ABA.

Their names are Mark and Patricia McCloskey, they look scared shitless.
Their mansion is huge, I’d guess ~10Ksqft or more [oops, just ducked it, 18,844sqft per Zillow; yikes some bigbox stores and malls are smaller]. Those blocks are likely granite. Was a classic mansion built in 1909.
It probably has a subterranean bunker twice as big as any of us peon’s homes. The article link below has some wider view pics.

When I did a couple working TDYs in St. Louis, it was mostly in that Central West End area near Wash U; for having to be ‘on the road’ it was AOK. Great place, fantastic Italian food all around, nooo decent Mex/TexMex though, naada]. Little Italy or whatever the neighborhood is called is a little SE across I-44 too.
Damn that area is hot and humid in summer.

In my state that’s assault in the third degree, a class C felony.
Upon conviction Karen & Skippy would lose their right to vote. This would be a good thing.

    9
  10. And if convicted of a felony would lose their law license

  11. thatotherjean says:

So, did Karen and Skippy get arrested for that stunt? If not, why not? They should be. Isn’t it illegal to wave guns around when you’re waving them at other people? What was the point of that idiocy?

    11
  12. It’s been 60 years or so since I last held a gun (Boy Scout camp) and even I remember you don’t point it, much less hold it with a finger on the trigger, unless you intend to shoot.

But of course nothing will happen to them cuz, you know, white.

    12
  13. In pictures I’m seeing it looks like they are barefooted, damn; like they impulsively jumped off the couch, grabbed their weapons then rushed out the door. Too big a hurry to slip into some shoes, good thing the maid had swept the veranda that morning.

    13
  14. BarbinDC says:

There’s a growing movement (probably from nice women named “Karen” and those who love them) to change the name of white, entitled (w)itches from Karen to “Ivanka”. I could go for that.

  15. The Surly Professor says:

MSB@1: “their midwestern palazzo” . Is that fancy talk for “Midwestern McMansion”? I *knew* I should have taken a course in Architecture as an undergrad. [And not just so I could hit on that gorgeous Scottish redhead majoring in Architecture that I was drooling after, of course.]

    15
  16. In Florida that would be considered assault, “menacing” , reckless endangerment, and possibly (depending on any language or motions) making a terroristic threat. That the weapons might be unloaded has absolutely nothing to do with it. All weapons pointed are considered loaded. Neither does any intention to ‘just scare people off’.

Perhaps not in that state but in Florida similar behavior could get you shot and a pretty good case could be made that he shooting would be legal. Any concealed carry license holder is legally allowed to shoot to prevent serious bodily harm to themselves or others or to stop a violent felony. If either or both said they would shoot they would have stated intent to commit a felony and to inflict bodily harm. They could be shot and, by the strict interpretation, it would be legal. Civil suits would surely follow, reason enough to not shoot, but the AG would likely pass on prosecution.

  18. joel hanes says:

By carefully examining the video, Josh Marshall has concluded that this pair of assholes consumed most of a pitcher of Bloody Marys before arming up to defend their castle.

She, in particular, is lucky not to have gotten shot by her husband, who waves the muzzle of the combat weapon that he doesn’t even know how to hold, so that the line of fire crosses her torso, several times in the short excerpt I saw. He’s not even looking in the direction his weapon is pointing. His safety is off. His finger is near the trigger (hers is ON the trigger). One spasm of rage and she’d have been maimed or dead.

  19. BarbinDC @ 14,

Melania would be a good substitute.

  20. UmptyDump says:

For a couple personal injury attorneys, the McCloskeys aren’t exactly Perry Mason types to be doing this.

According to a Bloomberg listing, “McCloskey, PC operates as a law firm which provides its legal services throughout the United States. The Firm offers its legal consulting services when dealing with practice areas such as traumatic brain injury, personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, defective products, auto accidents, and legal malpractice.”

The http://www.mccloskeylaw.com website has been disabled. If these two ambulance chasers are lucky, they can finish out their careers representing drunks hauled into night court.

  22. This is one of the best examples I’ve seen illustrating something a lot of people forget. These people graduated from law school and passed the bar.
    They’re not stupid.
    They’re willfully ignorant.
I believe that while consuming their bloody Mary’s, they were also devouring YouTube videos that showed rioters 95% of the time, even though the vaaaaast majority of protests have been peaceful. It’s fortunate they didn’t shoot any protesters for the crime of being pissed off.
This is orders of magnitude worse than stupid people.
This is intelligent people choosing ignorance.
    Because of prejudice.
    Which is fed by propaganda.
    Which feeds the prejudice.
    To consume more propaganda.
    Which feeds….,
    And on it goes.
The “Final Solution” in Germany wasn’t orchestrated by dumbasses.
It was planned by evil people, and carried out by people
    like Karen and Skippy.

  23. The Surly Professor says:

I don’t know about Bloody Marys, but Karen seems to have a mustard stain on her blouse. At least I think it’s mustard. My mind refuses to consider other options.

  28. The Surly Professor @15, Here’s an interesting article [below] on the St. Louis enclaves that those two live in.
Referred to as “private places”, they are not just gated, but walled too; for residents only [I’m not personally unsympathetic, I live in something similar, but rural, and ‘outsiders’ are watched closely, and I’m quite happy with that].
The STL “private places” date back many decades, many locales have similar enclaves; set apart one way or another. The brioche brandishers home was the first in it’s ‘place’, Portland, in what is now the Central West End, and was built as a true mansion in 1909.

One of my temp/lngtrm work locations was very close to the friendly couple, ~7000′ east down Lindell and 500′ north. Spent quite a bit of time in the STL area, working and going to school, decades ago. The thing that sticks is the Italian food, delish like in Chicago and Detroit also [never been near NYC, but don’t like their pizza style; heading for bunker now…].

  29. Halster says:

They’re lucky they didn’t shoot each other. Training certification should be required for gun purchases. I couldn’t even get a hunting license when I was a kid without attending safety classes first. Karen had her finger on the trigger while pointing it at protesters. That’s stupid if not illegal. If she had fired holding it like that, it would have likely kicked back and hit her in the face or flipped over her shoulder.

Oh, and Mayor Krewson doxxing people shows that even some Democrats can be booger eating morons.
