Just Can’t Miss It

March 16, 2022 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I worked in journalism most of my life and I have done my fair share of set-up questions but I rarely saw someone knock it out of the park like this. I wanted to make sure you saw it.

By the way, in case you were wondering, bullshit is not a dirty word in Texas. It is an agribusiness term. Hell, we even sing and dance and about it.

In fact there are numerous pieces of BS in Texas government.

  2. I’m just astonished at the size of the brass balls so many Ukrainian elected officials have. We just seem to have a lot of crazy people–like the entire Republican party–except for the ones who just weasels.

And Zelensky was also right in saying we are already in WWIII.

It’s both sad and confusing as to how the Putin loving Qcumber conservatives can be so blind to Putin’s geopolitical ambitions. He took Crimea. He now has Ukraine on his plate. Moldovia next?

Hell. Will he actually need to bivouac his troops on $carah Pain’s front porch before conservatives end their bromance and attachment to rubles?

Doesn’t matter whether it’s a dirty word or not. We’re adults here. Bullshit is bulshit!
My computer thing knows its misspelled but doesn’t offer the correct spelling… that tells us something.

Would be good for everyone’s spirits if Mr Klitschko could get putrid putin in the ring.

  8. Maybe Alaska should worry, if Tzar Vladmir I reclaims the oil fields in the Arctic as not being part of the Seward’s Folly as he try’s to re-establish Imperial Russia.

  9. Steve from Beaverton says:

Putin needs to be held accountable in kind. War crime is too mild a description.

Well, Tsar Vladimir does already own a court jester [or more correctly, a buffoon or licensed fool], who is generally regarded as the world’s greatest Bullshit Artiste.
His name’s Dumbass Donnei, a lifelong loser despite appearances.
Looks like Donnei’s hitched his honeywagon onto yet another failing venture with Vladbaby.

Only hitting military targets? I don’t think so. When did a maternity hospital and apartment buildings become military targets?

  12. Sandridge says:

thatotherjean @10, Don’t forget today’s Mariupol theater bombing resulting in total destruction, that was sheltering about 1,500 civilians. Haven’t seen a casualty count but it’s probably beyond horrific.

    12
  13. Steve from Beaverton says:

And the theater bombed in Mariupol had many children and the grounds were marked showing it had children inside. As I said, beyond war crime. You can see the picture of the bombing in the link I copied above. It’s horrific.

Jace, don’t worry. I am in Alaska, and I feel perfectly safe knowing that we have Sarah Palin to defend us.

Sandridge, that has to be one of the worst surveys. Evuh. As evidenced by all the good people at TWMDBS age is not a factor with intelligence when wisdom prevails.

Surveys and those who survey need to ask the RIGHT questions. lol One of the first EPIC failures was a formerly respected clown that blew his prediction for 2016, then repeated his same mistakes for 2020. Pundits are the worst of puns.

  17. john in denver says:

Sandridge … I fill in surveys for several groups some of the time …

I’m not quite in the 70s, but am sneaking up towards it. A whole bunch of media companies don’t care about my age group: they focus on the “desireable” first time I ran into that, I was reading about some Evangelical TV programs and their anemic Nielson ratings. Wikipedia points out why the numbers looked so bad, and Evangelicals didn’t seem to care. Nielson was counting a limited set, and the Evangelical tv programs (and the networks that sold them the timeslot) REALLY like the older folks.

Nielsen Media Research also provides statistics on specific demographics as such factors influence advertising rates as age, gender, race, economic class, and area. Younger viewers are considered more attractive for many products, whereas older and wealthier audiences are desired, or female audiences are desired over males.
In general, the number of viewers within the 18–49 age range is more important than the total number of viewers.

Some firms follow that lead, and ONLY look for info from some particular age group.

  18. The Surly Professor says:

john in denver: You’re right, of course. But good survey design by the company selling the product would let the 70+ folks continue filling it out, then silently dump it into the digital circular file when it was submitted. Along with a cheerful message like “we value your opinions and ideas, thank you for helping us serve you better”.

We’ve all seen that kind of corporate BS. Like my local post office’s sign: “In order to serve you better, we are reducing hours M-F and will be closed on Saturdays starting next month”.

  19. Sandridge says:

Jane & PKM, john in denver, The Surly Professor @16-18,
You guys are right, I’m pretty familiar with most marketing stuff, and extremely resistant to it all my life.
The surveyor may have just not liked my ad/tracker blocker and VPN cloaking too, but yeah they’re missing one of the wealthier demos.
Most SiriusXM channels carry no advertising though [the ones I listen to, it’s worth paying the subscription fees to me, regular radio and teevee is unbearable.].

Ha, I’ve seen this one dozens of times, you’re probably onto it, just BS:
“Along with a cheerful message like “we value your opinions and ideas, thank you for helping us serve you better”.”
