It’s Called Karma. And It’s Pronounced: Ha! Ha! Screw You!

Democrats in the Oregon State Senate could not reach a quorum to vote on a climate change bill because 11 Republican state senators walked out of the senate and some even left the state.  The Republicans could stop the debate and the vote, but they could not stop climate change.

Fred Girod was one of those senators. He refused to come back to the senate for a full month.  So the cap and trade bill never got a discussion or a vote.

Fred Girod’s house burned down.

Girod, a 69-year-old state senator, made an impromptu trip Sunday into his sprawling district that includes many of the most hard-hit areas decimated by wildfires that have now burned more than 1 million acres across the state and killed at least 10 people.

‘It hurts,’ Girod said, hands in his dark denim jeans.”

Well, damn, it’s the first time Girod’s hands have been in his own pockets.

Thanks to Larry for the heads up.

  1. Oregon guy here—cough—cough. Well the air quality is improving now its only in the “very unhealthy” range instead of “hazardous” as was the case for the last several days. Before the fires you couldn’t socialize, but could at least get outside for a breath of clean air. Now me and the missus have discovered that doubling and tripling our masks helps some. Our young dog is greatly appreciative, us not so much…

I read in one of the local reports about Mr. Girod’s troubles. You’d think once burned twice shy, but he is a follower of the orange sh*t gibbon so it wouldn’t surprise if he was still in denial about global warming, as well as the pandemic, and everything else the cult-45 believes in…

I would hope that he carries house insurance, which is a sane but socialist thing in itself, but no word yet if the cover stupidity…

This song by Don Caron I think covers all bases…

  2. Mr. Girod has learned nothing. He still blames the wildfires on environmentalists and the reduction of the logging industry in the state, not on climate change.

Fred’s a Republican. I’m sure he owns more than one house. I’ll save my pity for those who don’t.

  4. This imbecilic Climate Denier isn’t alone, there are millions more like him who will destroy themselves, and the rest of us rational science trusters along with them.

It’s just past the middle of hurricane season. In the Atlantic area we have three or four active hurricanes, a tropical storm*, and three or four ‘invest’ high potential cyclone development systems; the East Pacific has quieted down, with only one TS att.

Meanwhile, yet another strong hurricane [Sally] ravages the eastern GOM states [LA, MS, AL, FL, GA], which have an overwhelming preponderance of climate change denying Rethugs.
Don’t even think about those massive wildfires out west.
    When will they ever learn?

    * Currently TS Vicky in the Atlantic, may strengthen as it heads for the Caribbean and maybe Gulf of Mexico later.
There’s also a high-probability invest down in the SW GOM/Bay of Campeche which may soon develop into a system that could head for ‘somewhere’ on the US Gulf Coast…
As a serious weathernut on the TX coast, I’m watching these two closely.

Mr. Girod… still blames the wildfires on environmentalists and the reduction of the logging

Here’s another idea. Maybe Mr. Girod shouldn’t build his house with wood from trees, in an area surrounded by more trees. Take some personal responsibility Girod.

Wonder if nimrod Girod noticed that his hero Trumpf declared a major disaster in Alabama today yet in his Oregon, it took him 9 days.
