Is This The Breaking Point

August 05, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I dunno.  Every time after one of these events, I wonder if maybe now is the time we’ve reached deadend and something will get done.  I live a life of major disappointments.

For me, the war was over when we decided that massacring a classroom of precious children was tolerable.  Once we made that decision, more death is just more death.

There’s only one glimmer of hope.  The Rupert Murdoch owned New York Post has an editorial —

I know that the gun nuts won’t give up their guns because they have the right to defend themselves from the government coming and putting Americans in prisons and taking their children away.  Well, that’s happening right now on the border and I don’t see any of those assholes fighting the government on that.

I don’t know if we can confiscate all the military style weapons.  But we can start right now to quit making ammo for them.  You can make the ammo go away before you can gather all the guns.

If this results in a lot of cold, dead hands, at least it’s the hands of people who made a choice to die.

Screw ’em.

Here’s a suggestion – Shut your puke holes and grow a spine, Federal Bureau of Idiots.

Its a crook, liar and misogynist sitting on his fat ass and your all scared? Are you more afraid of politics or would you rather be surveilling the likes of MLK?

Change your underwear and do your job G-Boy!

    Read this cowardice below:

This was only the latest in a series of white nationalist attacks, inspiring pleas for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to ramp up its investigations of white nationalist and white supremacist groups. But according to former FBI counterterrorism expert Dave Gomez, the FBI is worried about being seen as targeting President Donald Trump’s base.

Gomez told the Washington Post, “There’s some reluctance among agents to bring forth an investigation that targets what the president perceives as his base. It’s a no-win situation for the FBI agent or supervisor.”

  2. murdoch is looking to gain support by adding a tiny small infinitesimal step on guns in exchange for billions for a “wall’ and further criminalization of any of the “others” citizens or not.
Just a scam trying to promote business, throw dirt in the air to obscure any discussion.
Many things should be done but first that abomination that was the heller decision ( which ranks with dred scott and lochner for judicial error) has to be overturned in its entirety.
“Well ordered militia” must be clearly defined as the national guard and nothing else.
CDC funded for gun violence research with no artificial parameters set.
Any seized weapons must be destroyed. no more auctioning off weapons so as to reintroduce the virus of murder back into the body politic.
I always appreciated the suggestion by a comedian ( who shall remain unnamed by his choice) who recommended that taxes on bullets be raised so each bullet costs a $1,000.00
Make any violation of gun laws non negotiable. No arrest or prosecutorial discretion. This apply’s to those who “forget” and carry a gun into an airport or other area where they are banned.
Immediate 5 years in prison $10,000 fine and legal constraint for any offended to either own a weapon or even live in a house where a weapon is stored.
A requirement that all gun owners must have a mental/physical/emotional professional evaluation review every 6 months at their cost.
A single unified gun registry and background check. No transfer can be legally accomplished with complete check.
Mandatory insurance with unlimited damages for each weapon. No bundling five guns five separate policies. Requirement that proof of insurance must accompany the weapon everywhere and be presented upon request.
    No mealy mouthed oh

  4. Jane & PKM says:

K, what you stated, too. Plus shore up the child endangerment laws for failing to safely store a weapon where there are children present. Add plain failing to safely store a weapon in cases where it’s later used in the commission of a crime. And, what was all that wingnut hysteria over pediatricians asking parents if there were weapons in the home? It’s a reasonable question. That follows what you said about allowing the CDC to keep unrestricted statistics.

LE also needs to step up and speak up to these Republicons about how safe they feel with everyone carrying when a moments hesitancy sorting out an active shooter from the ‘good’ guys will cost lives. Crossfire anyone ….

I suggest a $20/gram tax on smokeless powder, brass, and primers, proceeds to fund health care (including mental health), a comprehensive firearm owner database, a licensing program for firearm owners (and anyone seeking to buy ammunition), and a buy-back program.

The 3D gun printers may be able to make their own guns – let them try to make their own smokeless powder and primers without blowing themselves up.

This would have an additional benefit: fewer weapons for drug gangs.

  7. Right about now is Canada looking even better to anyone? That country stresses gun “safety”. There has been about one gun incident in Canada that comes anywhere near what this country experiences. It happened a few years ago in Montreal in a college classroom. Canadians experienced not only horror but mortification as well. That last one is something missing in this country.

Interesting map of Texas mass shootings at link below. The largest/worst one happened just a few miles away from my main place in 2017.
